Jorge was able to accommodate our more limited schedule as we were nearing the end of our apartment lease. His team worked on our house in the evenings and weekends for two weeks to get things done. We wanted a fresh coat of paint on all our walls and ceilings. After we finalized our paint choices, we gave Jorge the codes for the Benjamin Moore shades we wanted. He went out and bought the paint for us and we didn't have to get any materials ourselves. I wanted to change a couple of walls/ceiling areas to be painted in a different color and Jorge accommodated my requests. Jorge did some drywall repairs for us as we had to do some electrical rewiring before moving in. Since we didn't have a big attic or a crawlspace, our electrician had to cut many holes in our walls to do the rewiring. After our electrical project was done, we asked Jorge to come in patch all the walls. I am impressed with the patching, everything got blended together seamlessly. Other handyman services we had Jorge do included replacing some shelves in our closet and nailing down a portion of our fence in our backyard that was falling down. Jorge and his team kept things mostly clean but I did have to clean up a few errant drops of paint on some of our fixtures and new floors afterward. I also noticed a couple of cracked outlets and switches after he was done but he easily replaced those for us. It's been almost half a year and the quality of the work seems to be good. The paint job and drywall work are holding up well. If I need any other painting, drywall repair, or handyman services in the future I'll call Jorge again. He finished our project with no delays and his rates seem reasonable.

He is one of the most honest and quality-focused contractors I have ever worked with. During planning, I spoke to a number of other contractors who wanted to use retrofit windows and just leave the siding in place. Alan took the time to explain the proper way that the building wrap, siding and windows had to interface to get waterproofing, and how we were better off replacing all three if we wanted to be sure we'd fix our problem. Even with this extra scope, Alan's pricing was very fair. Thank god we went with Alan. When they removed the existing siding, they found severe water damage underneath the siding and a subpar earlier repair job. When this surprise came up, Alan talked us through the damage and gave us our options. They ended up ripping up two layers of existing siding, cutting out damaged building sheathing and replacing it with new plywood, before proceeding with the job. The overrun costs were very reasonable and we never felt like Alan was taking advantage of us. The end result was great quality at a fair price, and peace of mind that our issues have been resolved and we won't have to worry about the front / roof for a long time now. I would definitely hire Alan again and would recommend him to anyone looking for this kind of work.

The Marvin wood window is a pricey product but beautiful. We have used Anlin before and they are great and 1/2 the money or the wood Marvin . The installation went smooth. The crew started around 8 AM and finished at 5 o'clock. The Anlin Windows came with Anlin armor, which is the sticker that you removed off the glass so they look perfectly white without all the fingerprints smudges. The building permit process was easy felt like a waste of money. We paid thousands of dollars to the building department and the building inspector came for 30 seconds. All he talked about is our smoke detector and the new batteries that are required along with the carbon monoxide detector. He was very familiar with Golden State Windows and said they did great work after barely looking at their installation. We like the grids squares they added some character to the house.
