I've done a few hundred jumps with the guys at Skydive CNY. Day one I had zero jumps and no skills, none at all. I went through their student program that trains you to be a safe and proficient skydiver and allows you to attain your 'A' license, which permits you to jump by yourself anywhere in the country. Mike and Jeff are fantastic teachers with the right mix of safety first operations, thoughtful instruction, and fun banter. There are 2 planes at Skydive CNY so the chances are, if weather is good, they are flying. Since getting my license at Skydive CNY, skydiving has become a major hobby and Mike and Jeff continue to help in my progression into wingsuiting and other areas of the sport. They pretty much do it all here, up to and including training jumpers for their instructional rating and getting people into skydive careers. They are dealers for Aerodyne and Mirage, and are really helpful with purchasing gear (even if it is not through them!). Mike is also a Master FAA rigger and Jeff is Senior FAA rigger, so between the two of them, they take care of all my parachuting maintenance needs. In conclusion, this place is great. Safety is clearly the top priority here and they make everyone from tandem students to AFF students to experienced jumpers to your mom and dog feel safe and at home. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to go here for our first ever Skydiving experience and it was as good as it could ever get! The staff was very accommodating, and given that we are in Central New York where the weather is liable to change every 10 minutes, we were comfortable that if we did need to reschedule our jump they would help us in whatever way we could. Our "class" was simple and straightforward, the safety procedures were to the point, and by the time we were up in the plane, we felt like we were totally ready to take this on. On the way up our instructors were very relaxed and did their best to make us feel at ease. Speaking with them you really get a sense of security, seeing as they do this 4 or 5 times every day. They made the entire experience very comfortable. The jump itself is impossible to describe, suffice to say that it was handled very well by the instructors. My girlfriend and I are so happy that we were able to do this safely, and capture the experience on camera. The free fall was amazing, the chute deploying and catching us was very smooth, and being able to steer it was a rollercoaster of a ride that we will never forget. We are already planning our second adventure. We are definitely heading back to Skydive CNY, and we are bringing our friends along as well. read more

I promised my son at some point prior to his 18th birthday that when he was 18 I'd go skydiving with him. Well... he's 20 now and we finally figured out a day in our schedule to go. He chose Skydive CNY based on location, reviews and their perfect safety record. I originally booked a later time online because I thought I was going to have to work in the morning. When my schedule changed I called and they were very friendly about moving us to an earlier time. We had a picture perfect day. I jumped with Kelly and my son jumped with Luke. Everything was awesome. Professional, friendly and fun. I absolutely agree that the photos and video are worth it. I didn't find them pushy about selling them. Sure, it's more $ but for what you get (over 300 photos and a nicely edited 5 minute video...) I think you would be crazy to pass on the memories. (NO, they did not ask me to say this!) I have two more sons and if they want me to jump with them I'll go back in a heartbeat. I look pretty terrified in some of my pictures but all smiles in many of them!!! read more

Im a licensed jumper that moved from Hawaii to Watertown NY and was looking for a close DZ to jump from so I went to Skydive CNY. The guys there are very friendly and accommodating. Its a very small airport but there operation is still indoors with a few places to sit and talk with other skydivers in-between jumps. They have a self manifesting board so make sure you put your name up there or you won't be jumping. I was by myself the first time I went so the owner (I think) jumped with me and turned some points just for the hell of it, it was fun. You can get your main or reserve repacked by the riggers there as well for a decent price. The last time I picked up my rig after a repack I didn't have any of my gear besides my rig and really wanted to get one jump in so they let me borrow the helmet, goggles and altimeter which was very nice of them. Anyways if you get a chance, go check them out.......oh and know your pull and landing priorities before going...they WILL ask! lol plus you should really know them anyways. -Blue Skys read more

I took my boyfriend tandem skydiving as a graduation gift just last week. Our instructors made us feel very comfortable and safe (especially me, I was BEYOND scared!). I felt comfortable asking questions and they very patiently and reassuringly repeated instructions for me several times (again, I was pretty nervous!). In the end, the jump was the most amazing 6 minutes of my life, and my boyfriend and I are already planning to come back! Thank you to EVERYONE at SkydiveCNY (special thanks to Jeff and Luke!), can't wait to see you all again! P.S. Getting the pictures taken was not something we originally planned on doing, but I am SO glad we did. The employees did encourage us to have them taken, but were NOT pushy and did not make us feel pressured to purchase photos by any means. I am extremely happy that they took the time to explain how the photographs worked, because if they hadn't, we would not have had these amazing, fun, and hysterical keepsakes from our first (and totally not last) jump. Back in 2012, my wife Shannon and I took the plunge for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The experience was amazing and unlike anything I have done or imagined ever doing. The team at Skydive CNY, specifically Jeff who took us both up, were great to work with and we had a blast with them. We ended up going with the photo package and it was worth every penny. They really must practice getting these perfect shots, the ones with the plane in the background in particular are ridiculously cool. Recently, we convinced a very reluctant close friend (who is deathly afraid of heights) to jump with his wife for his 30th birthday! :-) Jeff, Luke and Kevin did an awesome job as we expected and gave the birthday boy the experience of a lifetime. For the record, he has already said he wants to go again, so anyone who's afraid of heights, TRY IT!! I have been on tandem skydives at several other dropzones around the country and Skydive CNY is handsdown the best experience I've had to date! The instructors were very knowledgeable and professional. I felt extremely safe and comfortable throughout the entire jump. My instructor even let me steer the parachute on our way down! I was able to get my pictures and videos right after the jump (the same day!) and they turned out fantastic! The quality was better than any of the others I have. The other places I've been to has another instructor jump with you and take pictures with their camera. Unfortunately, this means you lose pictures of some of the parachute ride and you are so far away from the camera at times. At Skydive CNY, they use cameras on your instructor's hand and I had so many good quality pictures of my ENTIRE jump! I highly recommend this place for your first, second, third...or whatever number you're on jump!! I will be jumping here again this next upcoming season! Thank you Skydive CNY! read more

I went to go watch my sister jump and at the last minuted decided to go with her. At first I wasn't apprehensive, then I was, then I wasnt.....lol. Ended up being the best thing I've ever done! The guys were so great at putting me at ease as I was more fearful of the actual plane ride than jumping out of it. I felt completely safe and Luke and Kevin made me feel so relaxed throughout the flight and pointed out many landmarks while up there! I highly recommend SkydiveCNY!! Luke rocked!! Although I would suggest if you're prone to motion sickness...take that Dramamine! lol Can't wait to go again! Thanks so much for making it a last minute experience of a lifetime!!! The team at Skydive CNY is an uncanny mix. They're extremely fun, relaxed, laid back, and welcoming, yet extremely professional, responsible, dedicated, and thorough in safety checks. Skydiving was one of the greatest experiences in my life, and I'm glad I did it with Skydive CNY! I cannot recommend highly enough! In response to Kate's review below me, that the staff "pushed photos and videos," I did not receive any such treatment whatsoever. They offered the video package to me once, explained that a video would be helpful in reviewing my skydive form and technique, and then never brought it up again. I went skydiving on 8/1/15 by myself because it was a feat only I needed to accomplish and a check off my bucketlist. With the help and patience of LUKE and the other staff members it was beyond my expectations. To say it was the thrill of a life time does not do the experience justice but you will have to find that out for yourself so get off your butts and get living!!! I have always thought about Skydiving but could never bring myself to actually do it! Last October I finally took the plunge and brought my husband and mother along with me. We all had a blast!! The instructors are very knowledgeable and make you feel safe during the entire experience. Its a beautiful ride up on the plane and an even better view on the way down! We arrived early - around 9:45 for our 10:30 appointment. We did a bit of training and then we were ready to go - however cloud cover prevented us from jumping for a while. We stuck out the day playing ping pong and hanging out with the friendly K-9s that were there (in addition to the friendly staff!) I have been involved with this drop zone for going on three years. the staff is knowledgeable and safe. I took My aff training with them and passed. A very cool group of people to jump with. the only bad part for me is that I don't get to jump as much as I want. I have done two jumps with them one was this past sunday august 16th. i love this place! they remembered me from the year prior, which is so nice! I cannot recommend these guys enough, from the second I showed up they were very hospitable and helped me and my friend get through the entire process needed for our first jump. They understood what kind of fear that we had coming up to our first jump and made sure that we understood how safe everything was and that there was nothing to be scared of.
