Hand woven basket before takeoff

I took my dad on a balloon ride for his birthday. We're both pilots and love everything in the air. Dar was a fantastic pilot - informative and fun. The conditions were perfect so our flight was beautiful and smooth. The champagne toast at the end was a treat. I'd highly recommend this experience to anyone in the area, or visiting, wanting a memorable balloon ride. Thanks Southern Tier Balloon Tours! - Nicole & Cam

$120 for rinky-dink Mountain really!? Even if the lodge was updated, even if there was more…read morevertical, it still wouldn't be worth $120. Not only that it says on the website $59 on Tuesdays, but not on a holiday. Presidents' Day is a one day holiday, so how's the whole week a holiday season. I don't care if schools are off they should not be reneging on their promises of $59 day pass passes. We came expecting to pay that price. I complained to at least three people. Nobody offered me any recourse. Not only that they've gone cashless which excludes people who don't have credit cards. Plus, you can only buy tickets online so there's no way around to even talk to. They have some guys wandering around a jackets that can help you process their overpriced tickets, but no booth no manager no nothing. It's icy, crappy and I'm not coming back ever. I'd rather ski somewhere else if I'm gonna pay this kind of money. If you're gonna ski a small central to Western New York mountain; keep heading west to the skiing over by Buffalo the snow but better anyway.

As a complete beginner, I was a bit of a physical hazard on the slopes - picture me sliding down the hill in sheer terror (stopped in the middle and had a panic attack), sometimes sitting (laying is more accurate) in the snow, utterly immobilized by my unwieldy penguin-like flippers. Despite my less-than-graceful attempts, I miraculously managed to avoid any serious collisions. Though I'm obviously not ready to tackle the intimidating black diamond runs (seriously scary), I genuinely enjoyed my time at Greek Peak. From the get-go, Greek Peak made a positive impression. The resort itself is beautiful, with stunning snow-covered landscapes and a well-maintained facility. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient, offering help when I was stuck in between a crevice :,) Perhaps any mountain resort would do the same but it was fun and everything went smoothly!

Had the privilege of going up with the fine folks at Sky River on Sunday, December 6th 2015…read more Pure professionals all the way. Upon arrival my fiancée and I were greeted by our pilot, Mark, as well as the owner and his wife. Very friendly and made us feel welcome! We didn't waste much time, and I had the privilege of watching pilot Mark do his pre-flight. He was very thorough and I could tell the bird was immaculately maintained. Shortly thereafter we were strapped in and on our way! Having only been my 2nd helicopter flight, I was geeking out the whole time, and Mark was on top of his game. Soon we were circling around the statue of liberty and on our way up the Hudson. Great views of the Freedom Tower and we went north, uptown and over the GWB before starting our return to Pittstown. Landing was flawless, came in with plenty of ground speed before smoothly exiting the active and calling it in. Pro. Pictures and words don't do it justice, this was one of the greatest experiences of my life!! Highly recommend stopping in for a quick flight (or lessons, or a license)!

Because of the reviews about the instructors...I went with the further location. Wade Krepps was our pilot and he was absolutely amazing. Off the bat, you can see his passion for flying and was easily sociable. My bf was nervous at first but with Wade's positive feedback and encouragement made the flight an excellent experience. Thank you Wade, you've made this experience a very memorable one. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family! OH! And the owner, Maria...was easily reachable. She gave me her personal number because I was a little worried about the weather last week. Also, we were running 10 minutes late. She was very accommodating about it as well.

Both are well connected to the local food and wine scene and they introduced us to a couple of the vineyards that are within a ten-minute drive of the Inn and pointed us to an amazing restaurant in Hammondsport--again a short drive from the Inn. Although we didn't have enough time to get there, the Inn is also right next door to a brewery and distillery. Our weather was less than ideal, but it didn't matter. We spent a couple of hours one afternoon hanging out in the historic cupola room with complimentary hot drinks and cookies. As history buffs, we were impressed that the Inn is on the National Registry of Historic Places and was also a stop on the Underground Railroad. It was a perfect environment for the family to catch up before another lovely meal in the Hammondsport area. The Inn offers a full and hearty breakfast each morning--enough food that you may want to skip lunch. They are also more than accommodating for each member of our family's varied dietary preferences; both the vegans and carnivores left the table fully satisfied. We will definitely return, and maybe on our next visit we can hit that brewery!

The house is super historic and on the Register of Historic Landmarks as well. Everything is beautiful both inside and out. Our room didn't have a TV or fridge, but there is a TV and small fridge in the common area on the second floor. There are plenty of books, games, and puzzles. We enjoyed the beautiful weather by spending a lot of time outside. There is plenty of seating both out back and out front. We really can't say enough great things about our stay, and hope to come back again one day.

I'd been thinking about a Hot Air Balloon ride for a few years so it soon became a part of my bucket list. Well, I called my daughter Leah and ran the idea by her to surprise Evolette for her birthday. Of course Leah would come with us! She was on board and thought Evolette would love it. I told Evie on her 13th birthday of the gift and she was elated! Now we just had to pick a date! Well, after several rain/wind cancellation dates, we finally flew this past Monday evening to catch the sunset. WOW! I'm SO happy we did this! It was very informative watching David and Joel put the balloon up and get it ready to go. Leah and her husband Nate helped! It was very interesting watching the process. I had been worried about how late in the season it was but the oak trees still had leaves so it was still beautiful to fly at the end of October! The sun was perfect. So there was Leah, Evie and me in the basket and of course David and Joel. They gave us instructions on how to get in and out and things to expect while landing. It was educational and fun to hear the father and son banter back and forth during the flight with opinions on where to land. They explained everything to us. 40 years experience made me feel relaxed and trust they knew how to handle things! We had a good landing which made the whole experience wonderful! I highly recommend David and Joel to take you on an adventure! They are very personable, funny, educational and refreshing in regards to a father/son business that works really well. Mystical Breeze Balloons was the perfect pick for my granddaughter's 13th birthday and a post daughter birthday gift for Leah. LOVED IT!! All the best to David and Joel, Donna Fairchild
