They truly handled everything so smoothly while still letting us fully enjoy every second of the experience. The camera team was fantastic as well, capturing every moment perfectly - and we even received our videos the very same day! The entire crew went above and beyond, and helped plan things to make this special day even more SPECIAL for us, and memorable for us in the best way possible!!!!!!!!! The skydiving experience itself was fun, but the customer service was terrible. We paid over $500 for the Ultimate Package, and my cousin never received the photos and videos she paid for because the camera wasn't working. What's even more frustrating is that the instructor knew the camera wasn't working before boarding, yet no effort was made to fix the issue or inform us. The company never contacted us about the missing footage, we had to reach out ourselves to find out what happened. When we went in person 4 days later to obtain a refund, the owner was upset that we arrived "unannounced," despite having known about the issue for days. Rather than taking responsibility, she repeatedly made excuses and tried to justify why they would only provide a partial refund for services that were never delivered. Poor communication, lack of accountability, and dismissive customer service completely overshadowed what should have been a great experience. I would NOT recommend this place. The best experience! I've always wanted to go skydiving and I heard good things about Skydive Monterey Bay. Back in January I had scheduled my jump and paid the $50 deposit. As it got closer to my scheduled date I started receiving texts/emails with tips and weather updates. My jump date was scheduled for Saturday, the day before my birthday. Due to the weather my jump was set back a day. That worked out perfectly because it was a beautiful sunny day & I was able to jump on my birthday! You start by filling out a waiver. Going over paperwork, weighing in and pay. Bring cash! There is a discount for paying cash. I went with the 18,000 jump + pics/videos. *Also, keep in mind that you may want to bring a little extra for a tip for your Tandem instructor and videographer. You are given a scheduled time and you wait for your instructor to go over all the jump details. Then you load the plane. Or in my case, a bus takes you to the plane after the first set of jumpers have landed. On the plane, the instructors give more details about how to exit and what to do when while jumping. Then the jump! After landing you are transported back and able to get your certificate! Great experience! Awesome instructors and videographers! Totally worth it. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the communication from Skydive Monterey Bay has been extremely disappointing. Our skydive booking was canceled multiple times. While I completely understand that weather and safety come first, the issue was how poorly everything was handled afterward. We traveled long distance, rented a car, adjusted schedules, and my visiting friend changed travel plans specifically for this experience. After the cancellations, we repeatedly tried contacting the team for updates and possible resolution. Whenever we called, we were simply told to send an email. The problem is that no one ever responds to the emails. I sent multiple follow-ups over several weeks and received no acknowledgment at all. They are also still holding my $100 payment and have not returned it or clearly communicated what the resolution will be. At minimum, customers deserve basic communication, especially after spending money and making travel arrangements. The lack of response made the entire experience frustrating and unprofessional. Be prepared for long wait time and bad attitudes. Our dive time was scheduled at 12PM and we didn't end up jumping until past 3PM. There was no update until we went and asked about it where we were met with a very rude response from the woman in charge. The staff at the counter were just unprofessional and rude as a whole as if you're not paying a lot of money for the experience. One of the members of our party also didn't receive their video they paid extra for because of a camera malfunction and they are refusing to refund the full amount she paid on top of the basic skydive package. Just a flat out negative result of what should've be an amazing experience. Weather looked a little iffy, but they were very communicative the day before and the day of about the conditions and possibility of jumping, and it's great that your deposit never expires. It's been 4 years, but I was finally able to come back and skydive at Skydive Monterey Bay! I wanted to give an update because lots have changed in 4 years, but nothing has changed at Skydive Monterey Bay! They are still full of friendly, professional, friendly, caring, and helpful people! They are so organized and made sure everyone had a great time! Safety is also so important in an activity like this, and I felt safe from minute one. You can tell they are meticulous with completing every part of the process and everything works like clockwork! If you go, definitely get the video and picture package with your own assigned videographer! It is not an experience you want to forget, so let them document the whole trip for you! We were very lucky the day we went because the weather was perfect! We checked in at 10:30, completed all the waivers and paperwork, chose our jump, our video package, and was told to wait about 30 minutes while they create the jump lists. The lists came out at 11:15 and we were immediately introduced to our jumpmasters to get us ready! That's how organized and efficient they are! My jumpmaster was Alzir and he was phenomenal! He was so friendly and encouraging and I would definitely jump with him again. He had great energy and totally made the experience a million times more fun! The only thing I was wondering was that it shows on Yelp they have a check in offer where they give you the USB drive for free, but when I got there, the lady said they don't have any offer like that. However, I heard another customer talking about it with his family later and he said he got the offer. In the grand scheme of things it's not a lot of money, especially when you compare to what you're spending on the jump and video package, but just wish it was more consistent with all customers. For someone who is scared of heights, skydiving was still something on my bucket list. Skydive Monterey was an interesting experience- I felt like it was a little unorganized in the sense that they crammed as many people as they can in one day to get as many jumps in as possible because we spent over 3 hours just waiting for our turn to jump. They switched my instructor at the very last minute as we were boarding the plane and during the entire ride up, that was when I was given new jump and landing instructions, which made me super nervous cause they were different from what the previous instructor had told me. 5 Stars for the views and the professionalism of the jump masters. 3 Stars for the organization and wait times. When they say 5-6 hours, they really mean it especially if you plan on doing the 18,000 feet jump. On the plus side, if you pay cash you save $10 extra bucks, if it's your birthday, you save another $10 so I saved $20. We were originally told to get there at 10:30am and then were moved to 10:00am. We arrived a few minutes after 10am and there were already quite a few people ahead of us. I heard it's even busier on a weekend so plan accordingly and bring some snacks because there's vending machines with not a great or healthy selection. It's also $1 in quarters for a tiny locker to store your stuff. I was with a few of my blind friends so we took 2 hours to fill out the paperwork. They had to sign and do a video acknowledgment for the waivers - we weren't told until we brought them up to the front so we had to go back and initial each page since I had initialed for them since I wasn't their power of attorney. Not a huge deal, just wish were told at the beginning to save some time. We didn't suit up 'til about 1ish and were in the sky around 3ish. We were in the final group so it was 4 of us plus the videographers for those of us who got the video. I added the video package since it was my first time. The video and pics turned out great. The view is amazing and Christian my jumpmaster was super chill, informative and made me feel relaxed and comfortable the whole time. Kudos to Ben for describing the imagery to one of my friends and letting him pull the cord since he had jumped a couple of times. Not sure if I would go back here again, but it's definitely worth experiencing at least once in your lifetime if you can stomach it. read more

Awesome experience! We got in right before 10 and were the first ones in the hangar. We were 30 minutes early for the call time at 10:30, though people were definitely able to trickle in a quarter past. The staff is super friendly and great to talk with, all of the Master Jumpers (skydiving certified experts who take you on this journey) were very chill and knew how to keep you calm throughout the experience. The wait time is a bit long from 10:30 into 12:30 when we actually started jumping, but there were enough tables and sofas to lounge around in and great, friendly people to talk with to occupy your time. (We were also prepared for the downtime by reading reviews prior to going) There are coin-operated lockers where you can store small bags and your phones and the system seems pretty safe with giving the keys to the staff via a bowl at the front desk before getting into your harnesses and queuing for the plane ride up (there is not too much movement in the hangar besides staff, no stragglers arrive after 11 is what I noticed). The actual experience of free-falling at 18,000 feet was both terrifying and exhilarating, the nerves and adrenaline didn't even kick in until we got into the plane and were straddling the foam benches on both sides of the tiny plane. For me, when we were climbing the first 5000 feet of elevation, that's when I started internally freaking out. I was the first person to jump out of the plane with my Jump Master Cathy (awesome gal, by the way - I think she's Italian or Spanish?), and my cameraman Chris was super friendly and chill. Though we jumped on a clear blue sky day with little to no wind, I will say it's hard to breathe when free-falling from such a height. That, or I started panicking and with winds hitting your face at over 100 mph, it adds to the difficulty in getting air. I think if I ever do this again, the key is to breathe calmly and not try to open the mouth to suck in air. My suggestion to the crew is to maybe offer full helmets or face masks for 18,000 feet jumps as well. Though we do not get spiffy jumpsuits like other skydiving companies, they do give you goggles and you're very secure in your harnesses attached to your Master Jumper. Once Cathy deployed our parachute after 1-2 minutes of free-falling, I was finally able to breathe (and very suddenly too) - I for one am terrified of heights, so dangling and swinging in the air and looking down, I had the dropping feeling in my gut, but only for a few moments before I got to take in the beauty of the bay and the greenery all around us in the Monterey area. The overall experience from jumping out to landing was about 9-10 minutes, the plane ride up was about another 9 minutes. Overall, the entire experience took about 18 minutes. NOTE: IF YOU ARE CONGESTED, DO NOT GO SKYDIVING/JUMPING!! You will wreck your Eustachian tube in your ears (aka airplane ears). A few first time jumpers experienced this, though I was fine. But it's important to not risk this. 10/10 would do again but probably ONLY with a facemask and if there are no high winds. Proud to say that I am one step closer to overcoming my crippling fear of heights all the while knocking one more item off my bucketlist before I turn 30. :) read more

Your experience and review is going to be based on your expectations and how much research you do beforehand. I read a lot of reviews before booking our tandem skydive experience so I knew that it wasn't going to be a quick day, that photos and videos wouldn't be fast (I didn't opt in), and that I couldn't cancel for my $50 per person deposit back. With that in mind, it was a 5* experience for me. Communication from the team leading up to the jump was very clear. We were originally supposed to jump on a Friday and the weather was iffy. The team texted me all the way up until Friday morning when they knew they weren't going to fly and booked us for the next day saying there would be better chances. They knew I was coming from SF and also communicated before I would start my drive to Monterey. Day of, the registration process was smooth, although it did take a bit of time to check out. We then waited about an extra 1-2 hours to allow clouds to clear and glad we did so. Once we were clear to jump the day was beautiful and we got to see everything. The tandem guides are fun and ensured we felt comfortable at all times. I'm not sure how other companies operate (if better or worse), but we felt safe the entire time. Most importantly is that we landed in the Jump Zone and alive. Whole experience for us was from 8:30am to 1ish pm. Keep in mind we were also on the first flight up. Would recommend this company again for a good experience and amazing views/experience. read more

What an amazing experience that everyone should try out at least once in their lifetime! Shoutout to Jump Master Charlie and Videographer Joey! I went for my 21st birthday on Sept 1st, a weekday. I got a email two days prior giving me my jump time at 11:30am. My dad (not jumping) and I arrived at 11:10am and we were able to get the paperwork, payment and information by 11:40am. I actually thought we would wait longer but we were given the training and geared up by 12:15. I splurged on the most expensive video/picture packet ($189) and the highest option to jump (18,000 feet, $289) and both were so worth it! I also got a birthday discount ($10), student discount ($10) and paid in cash (another $10 discount). Charlie, my jump master, was extremely calm and assured me through the entire way that everything was going to be ok. He explained clearly and throughly about the process from where to put my hands, head and where to look. Joey, the videographer, got amazing video and pictures of my first time skydiving! And I'm so happy that I got it. I got over 500+ photos and a well edited 7 min video (filled with interviews pre and post flight, b roll of the plane/view and 2-3 angles of me jumping off the plane and flying in the air). We left at 2pm with the usb, a jump certificate, coupons and such a adrenaline high! Come to this location, take the leap and I will definitely be back in a heartbeat. The only thing I would suggest would be providing the first time jumpers with a helmet with a face shield/visor. The amount of wind that got through my nostrils was brutal and I had a pretty dried out sinus/throat for a good 20 minutes after. I had a great experience. I walked in on a Saturday morning at 900 AM with no reservations, bought the whole package (18,000 feet with video), paid with a VISA, (about $400 per person) and filled out the forms. As a business lawyer with 34 years' experience, I have never seen a more devastating pack of waivers. It takes about 20 minutes to sign them all. Just sign - if you really think you are going to die, I would suggest staying home and watching TV. Big tip: For your jump master BEG for MARK. He is absolutely the best - professional, reassuring, and just a nice guy. My videographer was JACKIE. Both were excellent. The views and the backgrounds she captured were incredible - exiting the plane, the free fall, the chute opening and the landing were all perfect. She didn't miss anything. Jackie even wore a winged jumpsuit that enabled her to maneuver all around me during free fall. The music added to the DVD was a very nice touch. You also get a CD with approximately 100 still images - very nicely done. Since I signed up for 18,000, I was in the last group to go - so I waited (no chairs) in the landing zone for three other groups to go up and come down. You learn A LOT just watching the others' landings. The jump was amazing and the views were incredible. There is nothing to compare to this. The 120 MPH air flow does a number on your face, so don't expect to look pretty on the video, especially if you are over 40. Their plane is great - a Beechcraft King Air. It will haul a busload of skydivers to 18,000 in 9 minutes. The pilot was as smooth as glass. Stepping out the door at 18,000 for the first time is indescribable. My landing was great. A few others weren't so fortunate. Just keep those feet up and you will avoid a face plant. It was an experience of a lifetime. The jump master and videographer were totally professional. The most impressive thing: When my chute opened, I watched my videographer, Jackie, disappear straight down in a nanosecond. Folks, you are really moving toward mother earth. My right ear stayed plugged for 1 1/2 days, but there was no pain. Bottom line: You could die doing this, but just don't die without ever trying it. How about start your week (Monday) by jumping out of an airplane and literally fly???!!! That's what happened this week. We decided last week to challenge ourselves and we chose Skydive Monterey Bay as our destination. We went with the 18k tandem and let me tell you: Worth it every second. The location is really easy to find and lots of parking spots. We go in, the girls on the check in are super friendly and helpful through the whole process of paperwork, payments etc. De-Andra was really cool and informative. And funny too. It made me forget completely that I was about to jump out of an airplane for a minute while talking to her. I totally forgot the name of the other girl there, she was very nice and even helped me with watching my video righg there and then after the jump. So we get all set, we had some instructions of what was about to happen. One of their oldest instructors (very experiment) talked to our group and explained what was to come. We then were paired Up with our personal instructor who then set up our harness and talk to us individually. By the way, in case you don't know. They par you up based on weight and height (I believe). Keep in mind you can't be over 220lbs for this experience. So my instructor happened to be the one and only TADEU aka #Teddy. Such a small world, he is also from Brazil (like me) :) Needless to say it was very comforting to go through the whole thing on my native language (plus points there +++) He instructed me, made sure I was comfortable and good to go, and we headed to the airplane Once you're in, there's no way back lol. Small little plane, but felt very secure. We go really high. We were the first tandem to jump. There was 3 solo jumpers ahead of us. The whole experience goes so quickly, so make sure to open your eyes and enjoy as much as you can. The free fall is something else! Not to mention he got us out of the plane with a flip backwards!!!! (plus points there too +++) He will give you signals for when to relax and pose to the camera - good luck doing there during the free fall lol its hard And then once the parachute opens you get to see the pretty view much more, worry less lol and then... The maneuvers which they call "Rollercoaster" is very fun too... The land was smooth, they have helpers on land to make sure you land well and safe. No trouble there. I'm hooked. Will have to do it again now that I know exactly what to expect. I definitely recommend. Five stars for sure. read more

I am so glad i did 18000 ft while everyone else in the plane did 15000 although that meant i was the first one to jump once we were in the sky and that gave me absolutely no time to mentally prepare but maybe that was a good thing . There's no words to describe the feelings during the jump & dive, you'll need to experience it for yourself. You don't feel the sinking in the stomach feeling like you would expect (speaking for myself anyway) but you definitely know you're wayyyyyyy up there. Lol it's truly a mental thing!!! The view from above is breath taking. My instructor Luian was nothing short of amazing--- he was super energetic and made me feel comfortable from start to finish. This was the most Exhilarating Time of my Adult Life! I only Wish I had tried this at an Early Age. I Got Such a Sweet Deal. $$$ Mr.Gutierrez guided me through all the initial Safety and Parachuting Procedures; I'am so grateful to have had an Instructor with Over Two Decades of Experience. He literally removed all my Fears! I will always Remember this Amazing Moment over the Ocean and Northern California.
