Literally one of the most gnarly things I have ever done in my entire life. And I can finally say that I can cross skydiving off my bucket list. I came here with my friend and we literally booked a spontaneous skydive appointment. The nerves were definitely skyrocketing but I'm so glad I had a really good tandem partner that I could rely on. The front desk lady Paige was super chill, very nice, and she gladly took some pictures of us after our dive. If you come, make sure you bring a good jacket/hoodie with you or else it does get pretty cold all the way up in the air. You're going to put all your stuff away in a locker until after you land back on ground. I can honestly say that the scariest thing about this jump is probably once the door opens, but after that it feels like bliss as you're being carried by the wind. I thought I was gonna get that stomach drop feeling, but I didn't feel it at all which was weird! You literally don't feel the nerves as you're freefalling and it was amazing with the views. All I could focus on was trying to look okay for the camera aha Huuuuge shoutout to my tandem partner Petro Portela!!! He made me feel so comfortable from the flight up and to my jump down. And thank you for keeping me safe. That was wild and crazy fun. especially with the canopy spins in the air! Skydiving with surfcity was an absolute joy. This was a first for both my partner and I, so nerves were at an all time high. With my partner also having motion sickness and being scared of heights, we were pretty nervous but excited to take this challenge on. The staff was absolutely amazing, (apologies for any name misspelled) Paige at the front desk was super nice and even took some pictures of us before and after the flight. Our instructors, Volker and Pedro were super engaging and were able to take some amazing pictures and vids. The view is a once in a lifetime opportunity, you can see all the way to San Jose, across the ocean, and sierra nevada mountains. You won't regret this experience! Some things to know: -Before you leave they'll offer you some locker spaces in the hangar, but i'd just bring your essentials, phone, ID, and wallet with you, leave everything else in your car. They have snacks and drinks for you if you need a quick meal before the flight, but highly recommend eating a good breakfast before and after your flight. - You'll be landing a little bit away from the hangar, but they have a shuttle ready and waiting for you to bring you back. - THE LANDING, as a first timer I wasn't aware we'd be landing on somewhat muddy grass. So if you're planning to go somewhere afterwards I'd bring extra clothes. Don't wear your favorite pants or jackets either! - It's pretty cold in the hangar and it's even colder when you jump off the plane. While they do offer gloves for your hands i'd recommend wearing layers (nothing too puffy or bulky, the harness can get somewhat tight). - If you have motion sickness or are afraid of heights, this can vary from person to person, but the plane ride up isn't bad at all and with the nice weather we were fortunate enough to have a great view of everything with no turbulence. My partner said the scariest part was the actual parachuting part as the height of it all finally hit him, the free fall was the easiest part for him. -Picture/Video quality was outstanding, you have different options for your packages. Sound, raw videos, picture/video/or both package, and usbs (each having their own additional fee). -All in all, everything took about 3 hours. Our flight was originally set for 9am, but with due to some strong winds we were notified a couple days before and had our flight pushed to 11am and left at 1pm. read more

Oh boy! What an amazing experience! Would have given five stars but we're a bit saddened by the several micro-transactions. They said we couldn't go with our mask so charged us $68 for their masks which were much worse...and they didn't wear any, plus other charges, and a miscommunication about upgrading where they charged is $180 but we thought it was just going to be $80 a person. So $500 extra spent. That aside, this was a truly wonderful experience and an amazing thing to do. They fir you well into your harness and go over the "banana" jumping method. Very calm and patient. They' have a patio to see other jumpers, which is great. Note - it takes about 18-30 minutes to each jumping altitude, so it'll be a wait. Its worth it. Everyone from the ground crew to my tandem pilot, Joe, made me feel welcome. My first jump with Joe was amazing. Even if I did not land on my feet, next time!! We drove from Yuba City to Santa Cruz. I wanted our first skydiving experience to be colorful and interesting with an ocean view. I enjoyed the whole experience especially sharing it with my fiancé and youngest sister, that made all the difference. I especially want to mention how accommodating their customer service is. All my questions and follow up questions were answered, yes I had follow up questions. did I mention this was my first time? Booked two tandem jumps to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday back in October, but had to reschedule twice due to unfavorable weather conditions. It was so worth the wait though -- the day we finally got to do our jump was gorgeously clear and we had such amazing views of the ocean as we were climbing to altitude. We did the 12,000ft jump which is currently the only altitude they're offering, and it was our first jumps. We checked in when we were supposed to and waited about 2 hours for our turn. Read the email they send you when you book! It tells you to accommodate 2-3 hours, and for good reason. Don't be crabby with the front desk person just because you didn't prepare adequately Because the jump is so close to the water, the marine layer can cause scheduling to be trickier (they have to wait for the fog to lift in the mornings for a safe jump, and nature is unpredictable!). Be kind to the workers and be patient, the wait is so worth it. I jumped with Kale (or, more adequately, Kale jumped and I fell with him haha) and my boyfriend jumped with Austin. Both of them were great! I was super nervous... generally afraid of heights and extreme sports, but wanted to be a good sport and accompany my bf for his birthday. Plus, it's great to experience at least once in your life. Kale was a very calming presence, talked me through everything, and was reassuring throughout the entire process. The free fall was exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time. Don't forget to breathe! And once the chute opens you get such a beautiful view of the coast, and it's just so peaceful and quiet up there. Highly recommend GoJump, it was a great experience all around. If Yelp had ten stars, I'd give GoJump Santa Cruz ten stars. My absolutely terrific experience was because of the people at GoJump. I never sky jumped before signing up to jump from 18,000 feet, just below the altitude of commercial jets. The plane is modern, fresh, clean and looks really well maintained. Before heading to the plane to take off, my tandem instructor Khao Nguyen (5,600 jump veteran) interviewed me and my wife, and then during takeoff chatted me up and kept on videotaping. Somewhere between 8,000 feet and 18,000 feet, Khao provided me with a plastic oxygen hose to put into my nostrils. Then he pointed out landmarks like Moffett Field and Oakland in the distance to keep me focused, then telling me to sit straight and take deep yoga breaths. Out the plane we went. All the while Khao kept videotaping awesome footage. Landing was smooth and easy. The next day I received an edited video that exceeded all my expectations. Terrific quality with professional editing and soundtrack. A real keeper. I show it to my friends and they say it was if they were there with me. I also received photos, but initially they were small file thumbnails. Some of the photos are really awesome so I emailed asking for large files of the photos and sure enough, GoJump sent me the photos again, this time as large files. GoJump America in Santa Cruz, California is outstanding. The sky jump was safe and amazing, and the video is fantastic. My tandem instructor Khoa Nguyen is a true professional. This was my first time skydiving and I'm so glad I chose to do it with Go Jump Santa Cruz! I jumped from 15,000 ft with a 5-min video that's well edited and 200+ photos. We only intend to jump from 8,000 ft but the staff convinced us that 15,000ft would be way more enjoyable. The coaches are all awesome and professional. I jumped with Joseph and I felt safe with him all the time as he gave clear instructions. The coaches also tried to make jokes to build up 'connections' between us on the plane...wish I had a better cultural context so I would understand them We were in the air for about 5 minutes with about 1.5 minute of free fall. I really like the part when I got to control the parachute after it opens. Just felt like I got down before I've enjoyed enough of that scenery. Will definitely do it again! We booked for 2pm, and when we got down it was pass 4pm. It wasn't the company's fault that the other two customers were late so we had to wait to get on the plane, and we were prepared to stay there for 2 hours anyhow. Wow! If you're like me and have to look through all the reviews before going to a place, no need to look any further for Go Jump Santa Cruz. 5 stars! It was about an hour and a half drive from San Francisco where I was visiting. We came in on a Thursday, and were told to check-in right away because our plane was leaving in 5 minutes, so no wait at all. My dive instructor Ian was awesome! He got me geared up right away, and was such a fun easy-going guy, there was no way I could be scared jumping with him. The whole time before/during/after your jump there are 2 go- pros your instructor uses so that you go home with 200+ photos and a 5-minute video of the whole process. This was my first time skydiving, I jumped 15,000 ft and I already can't wait to go 18,000 ft next time. The view was my favorite part of the jump as it made it that much more peaceful. We even got a free birthday tee and nice souvenirs to take home. A link with our photos and videos were sent in about an hour after we jumped. The whole process only took about 1 hour as well. My friends and I came here for a birthday and the experience was amazing! The staff maintained really good COVID protocols and made sure every one had masks and neck gaiters on at all times. Social distancing was maintained up until we all had to get on the plane together. My instructor really made sure that I was comfortable with everything and was really funny. He made sure that I was okay the whole plane ride up because I informed them I had a huge fear of heights. My instructor pushed me out of the plane pretty quickly that I didn't even have time to second guess the situation and thank god for that lol The jump itself felt pretty long but was super quick in actuality. Definitely something that I would again given an occasion to. My friends and I all jumped from 15k feet and it actually doesn't take that long to reach the ground. The 15k jump is much more worth than the 8k ft in my opinion. They said it was due to weather conditions. Waited until then and showed up. There I was told it wasn't going to happen today due to weather conditions. Disappointed! I was told I could either reschedule for another day or get a refund. Since I went there mainly for that I just took the refund. Still really bummed. Birthday present didn't happen. Maybe some other time. The refund was put completely back in my account by the next day. The workers were nice too. Still disappointed. Hands down the COOLEST experience I've ever had thus far in my life. If you are planning on going, highly recommend doing the 15,000 ft jump. It's about a minute of free fall, but that time goes by in the blink of an eye. Once the parachute is deployed, you'll have a stunning view of the Bay that you'll definitely want to cherish and soak in for as long as possible. Dani at the front desk was so sweet and friendly and really calmed my friends and I when we were expressing our nervousness hahaha. Josh was my tandem instructor and he was amazing and comforting too. Tommy was my outside jumper, who took a bunch of sick pics of me during the jump. We decided on the base 8,000 feet jump & I believe our original dive time was set for about 10am, but had to wait for the skies to clear which didn't happen until around 1pm (Not a big deal, because I mean safety first right ?). The experience was GREAT. Definitely an adrenal rush! Skydiving with an ocean view, nothing can top that. The staff were very friendly and professional. You sign your life away and watch a safety video prior to going up in the air. You meet your jump partner, and get aquatinted with each other. My partner was nice, funny, and has several years of experience diving all over the world. Nothing like facing your fears. Once you are in the air, it's breathtaking and exciting. The view is absolutely stunning. This is tandem skydiving so you feel 100% safe, well as safe as you can feel jumping out of a plane :) You free fall for less than a minute, the parachute opens, and you just float down with an iconic view of the ocean. I loved every second of it. You can pay extra to get a video and photos which I think is well worth it, bring your own jump drive so they can easily save the photos and videos. read more

I finally made the leap (pun intended) and jumped out of a plane! I was surprised in more ways than one. First, the facility inside is clean and modern. Maybe that isn't something to comment about, but I was pleasantly surprised. Secondly, the young lady that checked me in was friendly and courteous. It was pretty busy yesterday and she kept her cool in a professional and warm manner. Thirdly, they kept everyone moving along. What I mean by that is they are organized and worked like a well-oiled machine. We were running a little late, but because of the tower or something like that; not because they weren't prepared. We were kept informed. Then it was time to start the adventure.. we got harnessed in and checked two to three times. We were told how to exit the plane with our instructor. They loaded us onto the plane and away we went. Daniel was my instructor and he was super calm, friendly, fun, and patient. Joe was my camera man. He tried to get me to high five him but I totally blanked. Not going to lie, that initial drop freaked me out. I didn't know what to expect, but once he pulled the cord it was AMAZING! I was floating in complete silence except for the conversation I had with Daniel. I was grateful for life and teared up. It's so hard to explain. After being disappointed by two cancellations (once an equipment problem, the other weather), my daughter and I succeeded in jumping from 18,000 feet yesterday with GoJump at their Watsonville facility. It was the first jump for each of us, and what a rush! I have previously posted a negative review expressing the disappointment of the two cancellations. David (one of the managers) reached out to explain the circumstances around the cancellations and worked with us to get rescheduled while my daughters was still in the area - thanks for that! I jumped with Josh; my daughter jumped with Joe. Both were highly professional and had meticulous attention to safety - neither of us felt any nervousness at all. We greatly appreciate how the culture at Go Jump puts safety above everything else, while still working hard to ensure that the clients have a wonderful experience. Wow. Skydiving has been on my bucket list for the longest time, but I never thought I would actually feel excited for it. Then again my friend made a reservation for his birthday so I didn't entirely have a choice, but I'm forever grateful for that. The moment you walk in, ALL the staff members are super friendly and attentive, including the dog chilling in the waiting room. Prices are high but not unreasonable. On the weekends, if you want to skydive from 10,000 ft, it costs $199. For a $30 upgrade, you can skydive from 12,500 ft to 14,000 ft. From a business perspective (because I'm a businessperson) it's crazy how much money they make from that upgrade and from photos and videos. They bring Go Pros that take photos every 2 seconds or so. If you want a DVD of digital photos, it costs $79 per person. Totally worth it for the memories... and for the likes on social media. When my friend took me, Matt and Volker were our tandem staff members. Volker is super high energy, and it's really easy to get pumped up just from his personality. Matt is more chill, which was nice because when I'm about to jump out of a plane, I don't feel very talkative. The 10-15 minute lesson about how to actually jump is quite simple, and they teach you how to shape your body like a banana... which was hilarious to me because I have a comedy set on bananas. The actual jumping was SO EXHILARATING. If you are the first person to jump (which I was) there is literally no time to freak out from the time the door opens to the time you are freefalling. I can't even describe how it feels. At first I thought it would feel like a roller coaster, but it's so much better. Once we were on the ground, the staff members had to tend to their other customers, so that gave me plenty of time to recover from my vertigo while chugging water and filling out their comment cards. Oh my goodness. I still can't believe I did it. What an incredible experience. They take such good care of you here, I would recommend Skydive Surf City to anyone anywhere. read more

I am shocked at the poor customer service at this business. I've always wanted to try skydiving, and when I turned 65 this year my wife and daughter arranged for my daughter to fly up from LA to jump with me in May. Late on the day before the jump (while my daughter was on the plane flying up), they called to cancel with the excuse that the plane was broken. We were disappointed, but understood that things happen and rescheduled for July. Today, while my daughter was flying up from LA for tomorrow's jump, they called again to cancel. This time the excuse was the weather and they seem not to care in the slightest that they don't deliver their service. I just checked the hourly weather forecast for tomorrow - low clouds early and then sunshine. Just like every day this time of year. If that forecast results in cancellations, why are they booking jumps??? I have added a photo to show the actual conditions on the day that I was supposed to jump - absolutely, perfectly clear! As far as I can tell, they just decided to take July 4 off as a holiday and didn't care about the impact on customers. My daughter has flown from LA to SF twice for skydiving that has never happened. That is several hundred dollars out of her own pocket to in reliance on this company's promises, and ended up with nothing from Go Jump America. They have charged me for jumping twice, only to credit me back after several weeks when they cancel. That is a really sleazy way to make money, but from what I see it is their business model. If you are considering skydiving, please find another company. This one does not deserve your business. read more

This is probably the most breath taking experience that I've ever done in my Entire Life. It was nerve wracking at first right before going for a Jump, but hey the crew was Very Professional. Our Instructor was Awesome and Thorough on the instructions for the the sky dive. Their instructors/skydivers Steffan and Eric was amazing. They made it sure that we're comfortable and less nervous. Even though my skydive was very quick (10k feet free fall), Steffan made it sure that my first time will be fun skydive, w/c is he did. Therefore, I thank him and Eric so much for the breath taking experience that we had. I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends and Co workers to be their Bucket list check. Great first time experience! Volker and Caleb were funny and professional and made jumping out of a plane at 18k ft feel completely safe. If any friends want to get out of their comfort zone and want to try skydiving, I'd definitely take them here. read more

We waited four hours and still did not get to go up due to the weather, but everyone was polite, professional and knowledgeable.

The view is not as nice as you'd imagine for Santa Cruz bc this place is actually further south where there's more farmland and open space, but the experience was still awesome. I'd recommend paying extra for 15,000 ft instead of 8,000 bc if you're gonna pay for this experience you might as well go big or go home. My friends and I got the Groupon deal which I'd recommend. From start to finish the instructors and other employees were so kind, reassuring, and fun. It's worth every penny especially when you see the pics and video they take with their gopro, some of them were so hilarious. One of my friends had to split up in a separate plane since it's 3 jumpers per plane, but she still had a great time. I will warn that the free fall may hurt your ears towards the end, and you might feel nauseous in the van driving back after landing but it's still worth it. Also, everything felt safe and secure - from the harnesses to the plane. read more
