What a wonderful drive up Hwy 65 (greatly improved! ) to the charming town of Leslie. And for me, the Skylark Cafe is my favorite destination. I love walking up to the front door and stepping into the old converted house to a warm and quaint dining room. The menu is wonderful, the food has always been terrific and the service and the wait staff are great. And don't forget dessert! After you eat, make a stop at Jaegers Fine Woodworking on the corner of Main and Oak Streets, they always have unique crafts and Eric and Mary are wonderful people! read more

Yes. Go. If you're in Leslie, or even if you're not, go to Skylark. For the area, 5 stars. Compared to every where else I've been, 3.5 stars. Good food, unique, feels like home, and very fresh. The food, service and ambiance was excellent during our visit. I had an appetizer of guacamole and tortilla chips and the green chili chicken tacos. They come either with 2 or 3. These were really good. Chicken, bacon, grilled onions and fresh avocado slices on corn or flour tortillas. Highly recommend. read more

This is one of the Searcy county places where the locals go. Always good food. Good service but be prepared to wait. They are usually very busy. I went one Friday night and had THE BEST steak. It was huge and seasoned and cooked perfectly. The dinner consisted of steak, mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Cost about $30. I then went again a few weeks later. I called the food in ahead a time and it was ready and waiting on us. Steak seemed a little smaller this time (still too much to eat in one setting for me) cost this time was $39. Only negative thing to say is you don't get a choice of potato. Still good though. read more

Had their Club on their own Sourdough bread , fresh. Fresh loaded up , Basil Parm sand exquisite, Citrus Salad was very fresh , Pulled Pork tacos very good. The finale was their selection of pies and cakes , home made as is everything ! Pecan pie was still warm from the oven , Walnut choc pie was amazing , lemon berry buttermilk pie wow! Dark choc cake moist and yummy and a Coconut Cream pie all cooked in a rustic sweet pie shell . We actually ordered the pecan to go , but it disappeared, so we ordered another ! A must go to for lunch in Leslie , Joy the owner and staff were very friendly and made us happy happy ! Thank you !! read more

We were so happy to find this wonderfully unique cafe as we journeyed along! Fun antique decor with tables that brought back memories of Grandma's house! We had chicken tacos that were excellent!! Also a salad with grilled chicken, walnuts, craisins & poppyseed dressing.....loved it! We even got chips & yummy salsa and a piece of pecan pie to go (but had to have a bite first & it was very good!). This was the exact little 'hidden gem' that we love to find that makes our trip very memorable! We can highly recommend it & could tell it was very popular with the locals too....some of whom came in to order various items to take home! read more

This restaurant boycotts cop is my first issue. Besides the point this place incredibly rude to customers in the restaurant if they don't enjoy or eat all their food and will say something to them publicly. A lot of that has to do with the fact she won't make substitutions to her items which leaves customers with something they don't want. Ryan's down the street has an much better atmosphere and menu not to mention the owner is well known and liked throughout the community and throughout most of the country for their states and desserts ! read more

Wow! What a find. We stopped for lunch after leaving the Buffalo River after a weekend of camping. Everything my wife and I had was very tasty. Well worth a stop in the little town of Leslie! I was particularly fond of the spinach dip made fresh and served here, and my quesadilla was served hot and fresh. (Great table service, I might add!) Hubby was fond of his salad, and we both liked the warm, cozy ambience of the place. (It's inside an Arts & Crafts-style bungalow from the turn of the last century -- very warm and inviting.) We made a special trip to try this place out for lunch. We were staying in Mountain View, planning on going to Oliver's. After finding that it closed, we learned of this cafe through the Oliver's Facebook page and were excited to visit. Masks are required and temperatures are taken at the door, nice that they are taking things seriously. Building is so cute. We were lucky to sit out back in the screened in porch. Hostess was very nice, waitress was lacking. Appetizer of Arkansas Summer Nachos were incredible! Everyone in our party enjoyed their entrees. Kids meals were nice sized. The Basil Parmesan sandwich was so delicious, highly recommend. Cupcakes/cakes were okay, but not great. American buttercream was a bit of a disappointment-would definitely skip next time. I'm not exactly sure where to start..... Parking lot is extremely narrow & difficult to park a full size truck. If the restaurant seats 40 then there should be at least 20 parking spaces. We were seated in the back room next to the bathroom & kitchen. During lunch & busy times I really do not want to feel "hurried" while I'm trying to relax and get lunch myself. This is exactly how it made us feel sitting next to the kitchen & hearing the back door slam shut every minute or the piles of dirty dishes being brought into the kitchen from the tables. On the other hand; We ordered the spinach cheese dip & it was served with stale chips. Our actual lunch was bland but decent. Cornbread that is served with the Chili was good though! I'm just not sure how to tell my experience other than there won't be a next time for us. read more

Super yummy. Bikers beware of the gravel sloped parking lot. Recommend parking away from the establishment on solid ground. Although we survived parking in the gravel lot because my husband is a talented biker. Wonderful sunny afternoon experience. An AMAZING place to eat. Insanely delicious warm sandwiches and Mexican-fusion cuisine. I had the brisket tacos, and the brisket had a great hickory smoke flavor and was well complimented by the slaw and light touch of barbecue sauce with a hint of heat--a perfect balance of flavors and textures. My dining companion had the chicken pesto sandwich, which was tender, moist, and flavorful--a definite win. Desserts look amazing and taste great (though they weren't the highlight of the stop). 5 stars just because the entrees are so amazing. Service was warm and friendly but a touch slow, and the coffee--which was artisan-roasted--was brewed a bit on the weak side (a stronger brew would have complemented the flavor of the beans and the desserts). Still, the sum of the experience was top-notch just because of the incredible tastes of the tacos and sandwich. Definitely stop if you are anywhere in the area, and plan for lunch here if you are en-route to or from Branson or northern Arkansas! read more
