I must tell you this has been a pleasant experience. As I have moved 6 times in the last 10 years, and none of them have been enjoyable. But I can honestly tell you, Doug, Dennis and the rest of the crew made it bearable. They showed up on time, were very thorough and busted their butts for 8 hours. I needed two mountains of landscaping rock moved from the street and spread in the backyard. I rehab houses, and the landscaper I usually use doesn't work in Buckeye, so I had to find someone. I called a landscaper who left an advertisement at the house. He answered the phone in broken English. I described the project, and asked for a price quote. His response was "What day?" I said "tomorrow if you can, but how much?" He replied "What day?" I said "No. How much? He said "What day? I said "Tomorrow. How much?" He said "What day?". I said "Thank you. Have a good day. Bye." If I can't communicate with a landscaper about a quote, I'll never be able to explain what I need done at the job site. A few minutes later, his wife called speaking slightly better English. I told her that I needed a price quote to have rock moved tomorrow. Her response? "What day?" I was ready to give up and do it myself when I found Skyler Moving & Labor on Craigslist, and called them. Doug gave me a quote, and said he could be out the next day. They were fantastic! I had rented a mini-skid to move 18 tons of fill dirt into my backyard, which sadly fell through; there was no way I could move all of it by hand, by myself. After some searching I found 'Skyler Moving & Labor,' which was perfect; they arrived on time, charged what they quoted (over the phone mind you), moved it all (even though it was raining off and on), and cleaned up after themselves. I coordinated with Doug on fairly short notice. He was prompt and professional in coordinating a 2 man crew to help me move. When my new apartment was delayed by half a day for me to move in, Doug was able to adjust and find me a different crew on less than 24 hours notice. The crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. Because of my schedule change for the new apartment's availability, I wasn't able to utilize the same crew to unload my truck. What can I say... On a one day notice they were able to schedule two movers to assist with my move. Doug and Jeff were amazing. There was no lolly gagging or time wasting. I am relocating from the Phoenix area to the Midwest, and needed an ABF trailer loaded for a 2bed/2bath. The morning of, the gentlemen were early (7:50ish), courteous, and ready to go. I had Doug, TJ, and Aaron on the job, and they were efficient and handled my belongings with care. The rate was reasonable. They seem to genuinely enjoy working together, and it was a fun morning. Your preparation will determine how much time you will likely need. Everything was packed and wrapped before they arrived, so I only needed them for a little over the 2 hours. This company was not a referral. I found this company on Craigslist. First time I ever hired a moving company, but I had furniture I needed moved from one room to the next. One of the pieces was my grandma's old dresser. I was scheduled for 2 hours. Doug and TJ arrived at my house on time. Everything was moved professionally. They did not waste any time. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY! Matt and John were our Movers not only did they complain the whole time, they were so slow and damaged our Furniture! They also lied to our faces by saying they "moved" everything and weren't even close to done we got 2 Hours out of them and they couldn't even hardly move anything, we even paid an additional Hour and they left! After reading all the positive reviews we were excited to book with the company. The guys showed up on time which was really the only good thing that happened. The movers were already in a bad mood as they told me since the owner was out of town they had 2 moves that day so they could only spend an extra hour with us if needed. I was watching from my backyard as they threw my couch cushions into the truck (no one catching the cushions as they hit the ground. Putting this in there as the owner told me they are taught to toss cushions but with someone on the other end catching. That extra 5 steps to put them down was too much). When unloading the furniture, they put 2 nice scratches in the hardwood floor. The owner was nice enough to call his friend who specializes in hardwood floors to come out only to tell me what I had already googled on how "fix" the scratches. I thought he was coming out to actually fix the scratches but it was a waste of his time and mine. He could have called me to tell what I needed to buy. If he needed to asses the damage, he could have assessed it and came back to fix it. I had 2 Uhuals and after the movers finished unloading the one they loaded/unloaded which took them 3 hours and I paid for 4 hours, one went to his car to have a cigarette and the other asked for my payment code as they were done. I still had another Uhual to unload and beds to put together as they said they would if there was enough time. The owner asked why I gave them the payment code if I had more stuff for them to do and thought that was a valid question but when there are 2 guys who did not seem to care about my furniture and were not the nicest, the last thing I am going to do is ask them to move more boxes when they were clearly ready to leave. I figured I would reach out to the owner of the company. I expressed my concerns in the survey I received. The owner did contact me and again, said he would send someone out which he did only to state what google said and he did not fix the scratches. The reason I would never recommend this company and the only reason I am writing this review, the owner is very unprofessional and rude. He told me via text "I'm sorry and they have both been written up and there time worked for your will not be paid to them". I asked who my money was going to and his response "Part of the money is going toward the wood guy for coming out (total waste of time). The rest will go to movers for the work they did do. I would have refunded u some of the money back but with that review that was left will hurt us much more then u paid for movers". So for anyone out there who thinks they are due a refund as they did not complete the job, first get your money back and then write a review. Truthfully, I did not know it was a survey, I thought it was feedback to go back to the company. One thing I forgot, just to go along with how unprofessional they were, before the movers left, they said not to use Uhual to hire movers as they charge a lot more than if I were to have gone to them directly. I have used them twice so far and will be calling them again. I decided to install laminate flooring and needed furniture removed from the house into a storage container. They were very careful with everything & even wrapped stuff so it wouldn't be damaged. they were quick and efficient and finished in just over an hour. I mentioned to Doug I was going to be ripping out the old carpet and needed to find someone. He said he could do it. When I asked him "how much" he gave me a quote I couldn't turn down. It took them only three hours and all the old carpet, padding & even tack strips were gone! They even swept and made sure every nail was gone. It wound up being slightly more than the original quote, because I forgot to tell him I wanted the tack strips removed. It was still worth every penny. I highly recommend. This review will probably be hidden, because it's my first one, but they were so good I signed up just so I could review them. read more

We hired Skylar to do concrete demo work at our home. We agreed that the work would be over 2 consecutive days as a dumpster had to be placed in the street. At the end of the 1st day Doug asked for 50% payment which we paid. Then after receiving the check he said he had to get to the rental store to take the rental equipment back. I asked why and he said he had another job to do the following day. I reminded him that was not our agreement and he basically said, oh well nothing he could do. He then said he would come back the following Wednesday. No call, no show...he never intended to come back. He broke his word and the contract so don't let the ex-military thing fool you. Left the job less than half done and we had to pay for a dumpster that was only half full to get it out of the street. read more
