More gummy stuff on the floor by the bed.
Keri P.

The floor was dirty upon check-in I asked housekeeping for a mop to clean. Looks like boogers all over the wall, and towels are the size of hand towels. We may sleep in the rental car. Staff is obviously doing the best they can, I'm guessing bad owners. Okay

Stains on sheets

Omg what a night mare. Room was horrible. Big pile of rat droppings. Millions of ants on the floor. Huge hole in the room with mold around it. The bathroom had mold around the caulking. Stains everywhere.

Moldy shower.

I wouldn't classify this as a hotel - it would be a motel. It's conveniently located close to many places - only 20 minutes from Fairport Harbor beach. I reserved a room with two beds, got there and somehow they had me as a king bed. They were able to fix it. The floors are extremely dirty and needed to be swept. My room key stopped working after a few hours so had to have them remade. The bathroom was awful/molded - so gross. The staff was really friendly but the upkeep is just not well. Breakfast is simple and okay - the first day the apple and Orange juice machine worked but the second morning it was "out of order" hmmmm. Mini muffins, plan or grain bagels, bread for toasting, and fruit loops/Raisin Bran are your choices. There is a washer/dryer for $1.50/$2.00 use.

Somehow my phone can't really capture the true wall color, which is way more orange, or the smell of cigarettes and mold.

Decor is hideous and front desk staff is incompetent. I was apparently not checked in correctly by the front desk staff, because the following morning at 8am someone tried to come into my room, loudly and repeatedly. Seriously there is nothing so scary as being awakened in a hotel room my someone repeatedly trying to get in against a bolted door. I then got a call from the front desk that they had no record of my checking in and had given the room to someone else, who was mad that my spouse and I had bolted the door (like you do in a hotel) overnight. I told them I was clearly checked in and had a receipt. The front desk staff barely apologized. They definitely didn't try to right their enormous wrong in any way. I tried to get the included breakfast at 8:15am--it runs til 9--and everything, even the coffee, was gone except for 1 sad banana and 2 anemic danishes. When I came back to check out at 8:30 nothing had been replaced. The decor is hideous, but frankly I can sleep anywhere as long as nobody tries to come into my room unannounced at 8am, so I can stay anywhere but here.

Illegally took my money and would not change my reservation. Nor would they cancel it.

This Hotel Gets an A+ For Friendliness…read more This is not a fancy hotel (in fact it may be a little dated) however it is clean and every person we had contact with was super friendly. There is not much in the way of fancy hotels in the Mentor or Painesville area. My husband has family in the area so we visited a different hotel last time we visited which I reviewed and believe this hotel is a much better choice for the area, maybe even the best choice however I have not visited every hotel in the area. We drove up from North Carolina and had to use the restroom as soon as we arrived as there was not a rest area for at least the last hour of the drive so we needed to run in to "take care of business" first. The tall gentleman at the desk pointed us to the rest rooms in the lobby which was my first experience with the hotel. While the hotel is not fancy I could immediately see that someone took the time to make nice little "homey" touches. These nice "homey" touches" are evident throughout the hotel. And it was very clean as well. Great first impression before check-in. Since we drove straight through, my husband wanted to take a walk after sitting for so long. So after the short and friendly check-in process was completed (by the same tall gentleman) my husband made inquiries about a walk. The man suggested a very short walk (I did not track it but it was probably a half mile) to the James A Garfield National Historic Site which was a very nice museum for the 20th president. I recommend visiting the museum if you visit the area. I learned a lot. After the walk, we ate in the onsite restaurant, Skye, which was very nice. I will probably write a separate review for that however I would like to say it was a very pleasant surprise. The same restaurant also provides room service which we did not need on this trip since it was just an overnight trip. The restaurant is also popular with locals and can get busy I understand. They also provided a nice continental breakfast in the morning which also included scrambled eggs and sausages. I happen to enjoy especially fancy breakfasts downtown in our hometown so it is difficult for me to rate a continental breakfast objectively. The room was clean and even had the luggage racks out and setup. Our room had a small refrigerator which I always consider a plus. Though it is located on a highway, our room which was even on the first floor was very quiet (I should add I wear ear plugs because I find hotel room units to sometimes be very loud). Negatives? Well it is not a fancy hotel so keeping that in mind, the only "negatives" would be some possibly outdated info I found in the binder at the desk in the room. For instance it said there was not a restaurant on site. But on top of the desk it provides info about the onsite restaurant. The management may want to take a look at the binders to make certain it is current. Bottom Line: The room rate was a great value for what we received.

We had a one night stay as we continued on our road trip. Very nice staff. In fact, I had some…read morebirthday cards to mail and the gentleman at the desk he would mail them for me. The room was very comfortable with 2 queen beds. Breakfast was a typical hotel spread BUT the usage of real plates and silverware made it extra special. The hotel gives off a bit of a "dated" vibe, but it's clean, friendly and very doable.

We reserved this hotel for Saturday, March 28 through Monday, March 30. Upon arrival, the room was…read morein unacceptable condition and did not resemble the photos advertised online. The bedding had large black stains and what appeared to be a blood stain. When I contacted the front desk to request clean linens, I was told they did not have access to housekeeping supplies. We were then moved to a different room. The second room was in even worse condition--outdated, visibly dirty, and still not representative of what was advertised. At that point, the hotel was fully booked, and we were unable to be relocated again. During the night, the fire alarms sounded and guests were evacuated. There was significant confusion, with multiple fire trucks and an ambulance on scene, and no staff available to provide direction for an extended period. We were later informed there had been a water main break, and water was actively pouring from the ceiling, flooding the hotel. The following morning, around 10:30 AM, we were finally able to speak with an assistant manager who confirmed the water had been shut off and that all guests would need to vacate the property. Although the hotel later agreed to issue a refund, they are charging 50% for the first night. Which was the night of the fire alarm/flood! Given the condition of the room upon arrival, the lack of basic accommodations, and the subsequent emergency evacuation and displacement, I do not believe any charge for that stay is justified. As a result, we were forced to secure last-minute accommodations elsewhere, incurring additional costs, including a higher room rate and parking fees. This situation significantly disrupted and ultimately ruined our weekend.

My spouse and I stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) for a week in late December-early January…read more Upon booking, we were blown away by the cost, as it was easily the least expensive option in the nearby Mayfield area. At every turn, the staff at this location were incredibly friendly: they always greeted us when we left and returned, offered help when asked, and were quick and clear in every interaction. The room was...fine. On one hand, it absolutely got the job done. On the other hand, there were problems: the bed was rather uncomfortable, the decor is quite dated, and we were not thrilled to see tons of stains on the ceiling and substantial rust forming on bathroom lights and decor. I was also rather confused about their housekeeping service (not a fault of the staff; this appears to be a structural issue) -- you have to call and speak to the front desk to get housekeeping, as opposed to other eco-friendly hotel experiences that require much less of a barrier to entry (a hangtag to flip, etc). Would we return? For the price, honestly, we might. But, I hope that this location receives some updates too, from housekeeping procedures to physical components. Please note that there is NOT a spa, and the room setups, as advertised on some third-party sites like Expedia, may not match the room you receive. We were expecting an adjacent living area in a separate room, but we were informed upon asking that this was not included in our purchase.

In the land of Motel 6, that's all a win. Yes, it's mega stripped-down: no tissues in the room, hot water tanks turned down so low that it takes about five minuted for the shower to get to "barely warm," and there's a threat to charge you ten bucks if you don't return your room keys. The woman at the desk when we checked in appeared either highly distracted or stoned, and the nightly fee is a bit higher than other budget motels. But it felt reasonably safe (never a given at this price point), we didn't see any roaches, and us and our dog babies got a decent night of rest on a king bed before hitting the road. I'm pretty sure that's what these are here for?

We arrived and the front desk guy says " you're reservation was canceled ". Why? "Bc your cc was declined". First of all, that's impossible. There would be no reason for any of my ccs to decline. Second, it's a pay upon arrival. What we figured out is they canceled our reservation bc the Morgan Wallen concert was happening and the hotel decided to cancel our reservation so they could open it up and charge concert goers more money for the room. I had read the reviews so I knew it wasn't going to be a Four Seasons but the property is in decline and not clean. If the lobby was in complete disarray I can only imagine what the rooms look like. Anyways, we definitely dodged a bullet. Found a way nicer place down the road.
