Nice hotel in a commercial area w plenty of restaurants and stores. Next to a Home Depot and a Sam's Club. Stayed four nights for a funeral nearby. Two Queen beds, standard room, but handicap designed. Did not ask for it, but it was fine. Included a mini fridge and microwave. Nice shower, thermostat seemed to work, could see our car in the lot. Breakfast not good. We skipped after first day. Coffee was a bit watery, but the juice was good. Other items questionable. Would stay here again, but not count on coffee or breakfast. read more

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Mentor, Ohio, from July 23-27, 2026, for a family trip. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. When we arrived around 4:00 PM on July 23, the front desk could not locate our reservation for two rooms, and we had to search our emails before it could be found. We also learned the hotel no longer had a pool, despite one being advertised when we booked. We specifically chose this hotel because our nephew loves to swim. After checking in, my sister and I found our beds appeared to have been previously used. Instead of providing clean sheets, we were moved to another room but did not receive it until about 7:00 PM. Our parents also had to change rooms because the electric blinds would not close. The replacement room had poor airflow and a window completely fogged from condensation between the glass panes. Checkout on July 27 was even more frustrating. We were told we owed $50 despite only charging about $18 in bottled water. The front desk employee was courteous, but the manager, Amanda Deen, refused to speak with us and instead had the employee repeatedly relay messages. The balance then changed from $50 to $18, and we were told to pay an additional $13. After spending 30-45 minutes trying to resolve the issue, we paid simply to leave. The manager only came out after my sister stated that it was unacceptable for a manager to avoid speaking directly with guests during a billing dispute. As we were leaving, another guest reported her duvet was also dirty, reinforcing our concerns about the hotel's housekeeping standards. While the front desk employees were polite, the reservation confusion, misleading pool advertisement, housekeeping concerns, room maintenance problems, billing confusion, and lack of management support made this stay far below the standards we expect from a Hampton Inn. read more

Last minute change in plans led us to Mentor, OH. We found this hotel and were not disappointed. Arielle was friendly and very helpful! Breakfast was good! The only drawback was the size of the shower. I am a big guy and it was a little small. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. read more

We stayed overnight for a wedding and the amenities were fine, but there is a clear training issue among staff as no one could figure out how to use my Hilton gift card. I used it at another Hampton location without issue, but two front desk staff members as well as the manager couldn't figure out how to use the remaining $100 balance. And the manager hasn't returned my calls to request a refund for the gift card amount. Hilton corporate customer service has also been abysmal and would not process a refund. BED BUGS discovered in my bed in the very early morning hours. Management team less than professional, namely Amanda Denning, Assistant General Manager & Josh Ferra, General Manager. Refused to return multiple phone calls and inquiries regarding service recovery requests. Front desk agent by the name of Tessi was less than cordial and would possibly benefit from a high school diploma Or etiquette classes or just a down payment on a new personality. Needless to say, I will never return to this bed bug infested establishment of a 'so-called' hotel. The lack of empathy for their uncleanliness is unacceptable. They basically told me that the compensation (less than I requested for the huge inconvenience) was sufficient and refused to return any of my emails or phone calls after assuring a call back. Cowardly behavior when your hotel is not up to standards is not my issue. Yes I requested 200k Hilton points and only received 100k, but did you pay my cleaning bill to have a weeks worth of clothes cleaned, 'No', can you put a price on the inconvenience of moving to a hotel 30 min away from the work assignment, 'No', can you put a compensation on losing a full nights rest, and 1 day of work after staying up since discovering the bed bug at 2am, 'No'. The hotel management never offered to pay for laundering my clothes and even insinuated that I 'claimed' the room had bed bugs when I actually took a picture of the creature. Good leadership and customer service is still hard to find. Being kind and understanding costs nothing. Be sure what you put out as an individual and customer servant equates to what you want to receive in return. Good luck at the bed bug motel. read more

Staff was friendly and accommodating, I was here for work and here for almost two weeks. Breakfast was free, and reasonable. Not 5 star breakfast but also not inedible. The coffee needs improvement - It is not good and even using the in-room pot and trying to control the amount of water used in the pot - it was still always far too weak. The rooms were clean and stocked satisfactorily, mine was also pretty large. Free wi-fi and a cable internet hook-up is also available. My shower had an issue with water pressure, regardless of how I adjusted the stream it just wasn't quite right - my associates never mentioned this as an issue so I'm not sure if it's isolated or not. I like that you are able to just hang out in the lobby area if desired with groups of people - and the staff were friendly at breakfast but not overly perky which is important when you are jet-lagged. Definitely would be okay staying here again. read more

Right off the bat, why would a Hilton property stock the bathroom with single ply toilet paper? Also, why would one put a coffee maker in the bathroom? Jacuzzi suite was ok. The king size bed was very comfortable and the afore mentioned bathroom was huge. The shower could fit an entire family of 4 easily. Room noise was an issue as the stairwell was directly behind the room. Breakfast (included) was very good, with many selections. Coffee was atrocious. Dining options in the immediate area are terrible. The location is basically in the middle of a dissected strip mall. No character at all. read more

I am a Hilton gold member and stay in Hampton Inns frequently. When I first walked into my nonsmoking room this first thing I noticed was that it REEKED of smoke. I immediately called the front desk to ask to switch rooms and they said they were sold out and there was nothing that they could do. Smoke makes my eyes swell up so needless to say I was miserable. As with other reviews on here I agree that the front desk staff is completely incompetent. I would not stay at this location again. Other than the strong smoke odor the room itself wasn't bad. It had a refrigerator and microwave and the bed was comfortable which is why I generously gave it 3 stars. read more

I typically stay at this hotel 10 to 15 nights a year. That trend is over after this evening. The front staff is rude and ignores customers. They do not provide the service that you would expect at a Hilton property and treat you as though you are a disturbance to their day. I will not stay at this property ever again and I would highly advise you to spend your money more wisely elsewhere or you'll be treated like you matter. I will not stop staying in Hilton properties because I'm a diamond member but this property is definitely out of the question from this point on. read more

Very happy with my week long stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful. Daniel was especially helpful when I had an issue with the tv in my room. The tv was changed out within a day and they went above and beyond to provide compensation. Breakfast service is good. The attendant was very friendly and courteous. There was a bit of variety in the choices each morning. The rooms were very clean and in good condition. I never had any issues with the free WiFi. Good speed and connectivity. The heater had a normal noise level. Curtains were dark and cut out most of the light. The pillows and mattress were amazing. Truly. Better than the fairly decent ones I have at home. If I had to find anything to complain about it would be the lack of an in room movie buying service and the coffee choices. If the lack of movie buying keeps the rates at the reasonable level they are then I'm fine with it. Easy to live with. For the coffee in the room, it's okay. I've had better. There are better coffee packet choices. Overall, this is my choice of hotel if I'm ever back in the area again. read more

This place is an absolute embarrassment. The hotel isn't nice, the employees are absolutely useless especially if you interrupt them while they are eating dinner in the lobby. When we asked for a couple of extra towels, after two hours of no towels we called the front desk and we were told "this hotel isn't full service". We had a king bed, a pull out couch and a rollaway bed ... TWO PILLOWS. When we asked for more pillows we were told they were out. When asked what they were going to do about it, Dan asked me what I wanted him to do about it. He then said "what do you want me to do go out and buy pillows?" Stay anywhere but here. One of the front desk staff had the worst attitude ever....(1) My brother, nephew and son stood in the lobby waiting while he was assisting no one..(2) I come in and sensed the attitude off the break (3) He completely ignored me when I told him there would be no need to swipe my card for incidentals and tried to tell me that incidentals is making purchases from the gift shop on the wall (4) He spoke to me as if I was some school girl who doesn't travel for a living....I DO NOT PLAN ON STAYING HERE EVER AGAIN!! I'm a Hilton Honors gold member and I stay at Hilton hotels all over the country..this hotel is a pretty average Hampton you would find anywhere in the country. When you stay in Hamptons as often as I do, they all seem the same. This hotel, like all the others, has breakfast, a fitness center, microwave/fridge/coffee maker in the room, a washer and dryer if you need to do laundry, and other amenities. The rooms are decent sized. I usually stay in a King size bed or I get a room with two queen size beds. I don't LOVE this hotel but I don't hate it either. The reason I'm giving this hotel 3-stars is due to the staff at the front desk. I've been to this location a few times while out of town on business and every time I come here, it seems the staff at the front desk has no idea what they're doing. It always takes 5-10 mins to check in and get my room. Last time I was here (May 2018) there was a complication checking me and my co-workers in and it took forever. I had to give them my credit card a couple times so they could finally check me in correctly. But here's why I'm not a fan of this place... when I got in my room last time, I started to unpack and change and next thing I know someone is opening my door! They double booked someone in the same room as me. It definitely startled me and I soon found out that the person coming in my room was given the same room number. So with that being said, this hotel left a bad memory in my mind. And from now on, I lock the door! read more

Not a trustworthy staff... I left a brand new jacket hanging in the closet of my room. From the time I checked out to the time I contacted the hotel (less than 24 hours), it was gone. No one checked back into the room so the only people that had access to enter were the housekeepers. I spoke to the general manager and he didn't have anything to offer other than suggesting I double check my bags. Next year, our softball team will not be returning to this hotel. read more

I planned on staying at this hotel for my college reunion. I found a cheap rate, but it was "non-refundable". I decided to go with it as I was committed to going to reunion. Unfortunately, we had an unexpected death in the family that made it impossible for me to go. I called the hotel to cancel and ask for a refund, pleading a family emergency. They refused to give me a refund, and worse, they were completely rude. So they have $400 of my money for a room that they probably re-booked and got money from another person as well.
