What made the situation completely unacceptable and invasive was that the cashier actually reached out and physically touched the shorts while I was wearing them to 'check the material.' Regardless of the facility's dress code policies, this kind of behavior is inappropriate and demeaning. I expected a basic level of professional conduct, but instead, I felt uncomfortable and disrespected. I would not recommend visiting this location if you expect to be treated with any basic level of decency.

He was incredibly helpful, patient, and genuinely kind -- the sort of person who doesn't just do his job well but quietly elevates the entire atmosphere around him. What stood out most was the way he interacted with my young daughter. His patience and warmth toward her were sincere and unwavering, and that kind of care stays with a parent. It certainly stayed with me. People like Vardges make a real difference in their community, often without realizing it. I truly hope he gets the recognition he deserves. What was frustrating is that we were not allowed to enter the pool at all, and they didn't even offer us the option to join the class instead. We are local residents and cannot easily come back at another time, so this was very inconvenient. If the schedule changes, it should be clearly updated so people don't waste their time coming here. Very poor communication and customer service. And baby cried all morning because I promised him to go there.

Like most community pools, it's in a beautiful neighborhood of Burbank and has some playgrounds and tennis courts near the pool. The locker rooms are kept up really well and the pool's temperature is kept at just the right level of cold and the chlorine level doesn't feel drastic as some places. The staff are great and helpful. The day rate depends on if you live in Burbank or not ($6-8) for lap swim and keep their schedule updated on their website. Bring your own swim gear as they are not provided by the aquatic center! Depending on time of day and when you go, the lap swim can be metered or by yards, as the layout of the pool can change (with kids swim, open swim, aerobics) nearby. Theres also a nice outdoor area for family events or kids birthday parties. Theres street side parking and they have a good size parking lot but it's pretty busy on weekends; people leave frequently and usually are waiting for your parking spot when you head out! A local who has been coming here for years encouraged me to try Mccambridge Recreation Pool (which I have yet to)!

My daughter loved all of the songs they used to incorporate the skills they were learning. My son loved that his coach encouraged him to do things that he thought he couldn't do only to gain confidence once he did it. We had a nice talk then I go in to the pool, swim for a bit, then tan by this guy and a couple of girls all roughly around my age we talked a little too after I got 1 of the girls to take that pic of me with my arms up. As another review stated, what was once a fantastic space is now relegated to a claustrophobic cavern not even 1/3 of its previous size. I can't imagine what it's like during busy hours. The old Y gym's locker room was amazing. Spacious with plenty of showers. I am just so saddened by what i saw. What once was will never be again.
