Short ride up the hill from street level to a harbor overlook. I went around noon and no wait. Only one ship in port so may be different on other days. Gondola comfortably fits four for the quick ride to the top. There are a few shops and a bar with drinks (featuring the local favorite Bushwacker) and some food options. There are 35 steps up from the ticket window to the gondola and another 34 down to the first level of shops and another 18 to the bar. I saw handicap ramps at the top but didn't see one on the bottom (not saying it's not there but...). The round trip in Dec 2025 is $30. They offer for $50 a combo ticket which includes the pirate museum next door. Turns out the museum is $20 so no savings buying them together. It is $5 cheaper to buy at the window versus on the boat and no advantage except avoiding ticket window lines (which were none). The lift is located less than a 15 minute walk from the cruise ships.
Took the skyride to Paradise Point, which was a nice excursion on the island. Beautiful scenery going up and down the mountain side. Once on top- just a stunning view. Additionally, there are some fun things to do here when you reach the top too! We visited the bar and bought two of the world famous Bushwacker Delight drinks. Such a pleasant refreshment made up of a blended boozy milkshake. Yum! The best shopping was there in our opinion based on prices, style and T-shirts that we found to truly fit our tastes the most. Also, picked up an elegant hand painted ornament and bought a beautiful Indian topaz ring. Shop venders were super pleasant and not pushy like some of the markets vendors can be. Only downside of the day was the weather. Plus, felt this experience was a little expensive at $30 per person. Yet, it is a once in a life time opportunity, so use your own judgement there. *Check in advance before going as their days, hours and weekends of operation can vary. They're closed at certain times and haven't updated their Facebook page or phone recordings, so can be difficult to figure out or confirm their actual dates & service hours. Check Instagram for a more accurate version and or call a head to reach a staff member in person to ensure the lifts are in-fact open. Keep in mind the cruise ship crowds as well. We were extremely lucky that we had no wait and were able to avoid the masses. 4 stars provided based off the price of the tickets and the lengths we had to go to verify their open status.
If you have a rental car, drive up yourself and save the $30 per person. The views are beautiful, but overall it's not worth the cost. You're mostly paying for the convenience, not the experience. Also, if you're elderly or have a hard time moving around, be aware that the cable carts do not stop. You have to quickly jump on and off while they're still moving, which can be difficult and unsafe for some.

There are only 3 gondolas that run, so each one is stuffed with the 7-8 people. It isn't even big enough to sit in. Depending on when you go, the wait could be really long. Everything else is extra. There are vendors that are selling souvenirs. There's a bar and a restaurant at the top. We didn't eat or drink anything. Go early in the day. The line in the afternoon was crazy, crazy long.
Definitely worth the $25 when you are in St. Thomas! The views of the island from the top are breathtaking, and the ride isn't as scary as it seems. The small shops at the top, along with the bar and restaurant, are an added bonus as well as the recently built skywalk landing. We were looking for a low-key activity while visiting the island, and this proved to be a good choice. It is also within a 10 minute walk to the port if you are visiting the island via cruise ship. I will say that for individuals who may have mobility concerns, there didn't appear to be an accessible way to get on and off the gondola on the bottom level, and there were about 30 steps to climb to get to the entry landing. It looked as though you can access the skywalk and stores at the top via roadway, however, which may be a more comfortable option to take in the views without the gondola ride.
Not worth the money. They stuff you with strangers into each ride. No AC Once up there only seating for bar and drinkers or eaters. Retail typical souvenir stores, nothing much to do or see after the initial panoramic view. Great view but not worth the $25 per person Guess they only run/ are open when cruise ships are in town. Not the most friendly staff, lucky to find any if you have questions up on top. Nice you can walk from one of the ports cruise Ship. Princess cruise line was ours, you can walk from there easily
This is a 5 min walk from all the shopping when you get off the ship. Kids 2 or younger are free. It is a bit tricky to get on and off it keeps moving at a slow pace but some elderly had to be almost pulled off. It is a fast ride up the side of the mountain and the views are amazing! Only down side is the overpriced souvenir shops on top and the tasteless restaurant. Would recommend if you are ever in the USVI you get some amazing views from the top
The Skyride to Paradise Point was a great place to visit when visiting St. Thomas - Virgin Islands. The gondola ride was a quick 5 minute trip from the bottom to top. We bought the tickets ahead of time, but the tickets were available at the venue. If you are a travel agent, it'll be best to purchase the ticket onsite for a discount. We tried Bushwacker and it was one of those drinks that you'd try at least once, because it was originated from the area. Enjoy! *More pictures to come.
This is a pleasant attraction to visit in St. Thomas if you just want to take it easy and take in some amazing views. We've been to St. Thomas before but not on the Skyride so we decided to do it. If you are cruising, I would recommend doing it on your own. You will save some money by just taking a cab and you can go on your own timetable. A cab from the Royal Caribbean port is $4-6 a person and you can catch one with lots of other people right at the port, just follow the signs. We bought our skyride tickets when we arrived. $25 a person. You may be able to get the at a discount if you check the discount sites, but we didn't. I like that when we bought our tickets, the employees told us we had to wear masks any place where we cannot social distance, which includes being in line. Better safe than sorry and I appreciate the people of St. Thomas being careful. The wait in line was short, and the ride up was beautiful and smooth. Once at the top, we took some great pics and then grabbed a table. They have food at the bar and grill but we just had drinks. The drinks were not bad. My husband had the Bushwacker, which is their featured drink. I had a mango margarita which I honestly didn't know if it even had any alcohol in it. Two drinks and the service fee was $27 though so we just had the one round. It looks like there are stalls for shops, but there really wasn't any shopping up there. Maybe because of covid and little tourism the stores all closed. Anyway, It is a beautiful view and a nice place to hang out for a while. When you are back down at sea level, you can easily catch another cab to take you wherever you want to go. If you go through the cruise ship, they take you back to the port immediately so that means no shopping or more affordable drinks at other establishments so do this trip on your own!
Skyride to Paradise Point in St. Thomas? Hell yeah, brother what a freakin' riot! I'm talkin' gondolas that usually scream "romance" like some sappy Italian movie, but up here? Nah, this was straight-up redneck romance on rails: me and the crew crammed in a little cabin, swayin' like we stole it, crackin' jokes about questionable things happenin' mid-air while the views hit harder than a bad decision at last call. What a hoot! We were just tryin' to break up the day from beach-bummin' and rum-runnin', and bam this thing delivered big-time fun without breakin' the bank or our necks. You hop on right across from the Havensight cruise dock in Charlotte Amalie super easy, no taxi drama. Tickets run about $25-$30 a pop for adults (kids cheaper, under 5 free), and you get unlimited rides all day with that wristband. The gondola hauls you up 700 feet in like 5-7 minutes smooth enough, but it wiggles a bit like it's flirtin' with danger. Panoramic windows everywhere, so you're snappin' pics of the harbor, cruise ships lookin' like bathtub toys, historic downtown, and on a clear day? You can eyeball all the way to Puerto Rico, Vieques, St. Croix whole Caribbean postcard spread out like God's own backyard BBQ. At the top? Paradise Point lives up to the name: killer views, a bar slingin' the world-famous Baileys Bushwacker (frozen boozy goodness that'll make you forget your name), restaurants, souvenir shops, and that new Skywalk for extra thrill-seekin' (step out over the edge if you got the guts me? I stuck to the drink). We chilled up there, sippin', laughin', takin' in the breeze perfect pit stop to recharge before divin' back into island chaos. Fun facts to crank it up: This aerial tram's been the top scenic ride in the USVI for years, Each cabin holds up to 8, they roll every 7 minutes or so, no reservations needed just show up and ride. And yeah, it's not the absolute "top" thing on the island (beaches and bars fight for that crown), but for a quick, cheap adrenaline-and-view combo? It's gold, baby. If you're in St. Thomas and want somethin' fun, easy, and a little cheeky like a gondola joyride with zero pretension do this. 5 stars, no question. I'd go back faster than Kid Rock to a mullet convention. Ride the view, grab a Bushwacker, and thank me later. Rock on! read more
Nice sky ride up to the top of the mountain. For great views. Pretty smooth ride never got too far off the actual side of the mountain though a couple times you did get up pretty high. Quick five minute ride up to the top a little pricey, but worth it once you get up here for a great vantage point some great pictures there's food up here as well as shopping, and great views. read more
We took the gondola up the hill a long time ago on our honeymoon. We went back this year and took it again, but this time with our kid. And it looked like it hadn't changed a bit in those many years! But, in all honesty, that's okay. It was part of the charm of the entire experience. This technology works just as well now as it did then. The views are incredible from the gondola and definitely at the top as well! These aren't air-conditioned or even all that comfy (basically standing the whole ride), but they aren't designed for plush luxury. It's just a nice quick way to get in some sight-seeing and take some incredible pictures. I'd absolutely do this again in the future, and I highly recommend the experience (if you aren't too afraid of heights!). read more

Great view. The ride is not super high off the ground. It takes about 7 minutes to ride each way. There are shops and restaurants at the top. One shop helps fund a charity that trains kids in a career. This was well worth the time and money. read more

It's what you'd imagine. A ride to the top with some beautiful views. It was 25 bucks for tourists, 8 for locals. You get to take in some wonderful views at the top. There's a restaurant and bar at the top, but I didn't partake in that. Def do this is you are in the area. read more

When we arrived in St Thomas, we walked from the cruise ship to the Skyride. Its an easy short walk. Traveling up the hillside takes a few minutes. Once you have reached the top the view of the island and cruise ships are amazing. There is a restaurant and gift shop you can explore. We had a couple of frozen drinks which were cold and strong. It's a great way to spend a few hours. read more
This place was not too far from the cruise and it a skyride to a point like it said, but it's nothing more. This skyride has a good view when you riding up and down on the trip. Besides that, there's not much to say about this. The restaurant is on top where you can eat or drink and they do have stores too that has merchandise to buy and food to your liking too. I just didn't see anything that wowed me though besides looking over to the ocean and the view of the island which is very beautiful by the way. To get on the ride, you have to walk very fast or run and jumped into the cart. It's also better to go with a small group rather than a big group because if you are claustrophobic like I am, you can't breathe even though there's window for airflow. Also, the reason is that, when when you are in a small group, you can move around in the cart and takes a lot of pictures/videos from each angles. There's no seat and I don't see how anybody who is in a wheelchair can ride this. It would be impossible. read more

They tried to have us arrested!! We paid for this excursion off Disney Cruise Line. They accused us of being handed bands from someone getting off ride! One very rude and ignorant young girl worker proceeded with antagonist behavior with anger. Words were exchanged Manager there us off the ride and wanted the band we had paid for. When hubby had enough he ripped his band off and threw it wind carried it and hit the manager's pant leg. She called the police and tried to have us arrested for assault! Cops came! I asked if she had been injured? Was there a paper cut? The officer said no. I said oh my assault with a paper weapon ..needless to say after explaining what occurred to the officer we were allowed to get back on the cruise ship. Oh yeah we had been banded from getting back on the boat like we were criminals. So there you have it! You get what you pay for! You are better off grabbing a nice bus or taxi to take you! This place is not something you want to bother with. read more

At the end of our island tour was the 'Skyride.' This Gondola ride takes you up 700 ft. up to an observation area with scenic views of the bay & a restaurant/bar. I wasn't impressed by the ride but it did provide excellent opportunities to photograph the ships at the pier. The restaurant/bar was unimpressive with typical bar food. read more

You HAVE to do this while in St Thomas! $21 for the trip up and back but totally worth it. Take a video on your way up of the quasi aerial view of the island. Most visitors are from the cruise ships, in fact I'm told outside of Wednesday's the only time this thing runs is when the cruise ships are docked so plan accordingly. Once up top take lots of photos! It's simply BEAUTIFUL! They have a full bar and a casual menu at the eatery once you get off up top. There's also a small souvenir shop and some phot cut out spots for fun photo ops. The drinks are really yummy. We tried a drink that taste just like frozen key lime pie in a cup. Omg I want another one just thinking about it. And the smoked wings with bar be Que sauce, I'm pretty sure they are a sin because only a sin could be that good. It's pretty much all outdoors/open space with covered areas. Great for tropical type weather but be advised it will rain in the blink of an eye. Lol. Just run for cover if it does and order another drink. read more
So impressed and surprised at this place. Tourists plan ahead! The skyride is $21 or on Wednesday from 530-9 is locals night with $5 round trips. At the top is Paradise. We went to the top for the view and has plans for dinner somewhere else, when we got to the top we were surprised at the facilities. Little shops and 2 bars and restaurant. The food was great! All new staff and the manageress was eager to hear our experiences and opinions on her new staff. Food prices (consider where you are and the view) were ok, $24 for salmon, fresh veggies and baked potato. Drinks not unreasonably priced. $6 for VI Summer Ale. Food was served on disposal plates and silverware. Live music from a Caribbean quartet. Smooth operation, friendly staff and the best views in Charlotte Amalie. read more

Yes, this is expensive for the fact that it is just a ride in a tram up to Paradise Point to take some photos but I definitely think it offers the best views in St. Thomas especially so close to the port. The views are breathtaking and well worth the price. You can also find coupons in the maps and books they pass out around the shops so that will save you some money. It is a nice attraction that is close to the port. We did this the second year we were in St. Thomas since we wanted something more low key to do. I definitely recommend buying tickets yourself because the cruise ships charge more money. It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. read more

Worth it for the view, in town visiting not with a ship $21.00 takes you up. There is food and drinks at the top, mediocre food but it's worth seeing the views. The carts run about every 10 mins so you can go back down when you want. This is definitely something you'd have to stop and see. read more
- Very beautiful Views on the ride and the top! - Ride is about 10 minutes up and 10 minutes down - We arrived at 3pm we found that everything at the top everything was closed other than getting a drink; the top 3 drink choices my wanted they were out of! (If we were told maybe we would of saved this for another day). I was expecting some gift shops, some unique food options, etc. - Its nice to do but somewhat pricey... $63 for 3 and then they want a tip; Its an OK value.. not sure I would do it again. - NOTE: Closed when the ships aren't in (just about everything else is too) read more
A view that every visitor should experience! Though I was a little nervous it was so cool riding up the hillside and taking pictures. Once you're to the top- there are more pic opportunities and the guy up there will even take the pictures for you- so nice :-D There are shops up there to go to...try to ask for jewelry that the locals will where so that you will be official (there's usually a story behind the local bangles etc.) I had a mix drink which was a combination of Bushwhacker and Raspberry, however the "Virgin Pina Colada" up the is the "bomb!" Also, ask them whats up with the ziplock bags around the balcony lol- it's pretty cool! read more

On this particular day, one of our last in St. Thomas, we sort of stumbled across this skyride. I hadn't heard of it while doing my lack of VI research. Maybe it's because we have an amazing skylift in Kentucky that is about double the ride time, but I found this to be way overpriced. We didn't know anything about the Wednesday or Thursday $5 sunset rides though. $10 for two people compared to $42, would probably have changed my rating, but it is what it is. We bought our wrist bands at the bottom and headed up several steps and waited on the next set of carts. There was guy taking photos against the green screen back drop. The $10 price tag really wasn't that bad, but I wasn't in a photogenic mood that day. In each set were three carts. We were in the front set, so the view up was a bit obstructed by the other two carts, as we looked back at the view of the city during our short ride to the top of the hill. Once we got to the top, there we several gorgeous look out locations. I must admit that this spot is probably one of the best view of cruise port and Charlotte Amalie. You can even look out and see Water Island as well as some of the other, smaller Virgin Islands. But for the price, there are a lot of other lookout points around the island that you can get to from a safari tour or taxi for less than $21. But if you've never experienced a skyride and want to stick close to the cruise port, this is your place. There were several souvenir shops, including one owned by a real life treasure hunting diver. There was a shop that sells bottled liquor, so if you're on a cruise and looking to stock up, look for it near the restaurant area. We didn't stay up at the top very long, 30 minutes tops. For about 10 minutes, we sat at one of the restaurant tables and weren't approached, so I assume that you place your order if you want... or you can just sit an enjoy the view, like we did. read more
I am not sure if $21 is worth the ride. I would have liked to walked it. The view was beautiful and the shops were what I expected. However, I asked for a military discount and was granted 1/2 off! So, it was worth what I paid. read more

A ride with a view The St Thomas Skyride is a tram that takes you up the side of a hill that gives nice views of the harbor. Just a couple of cable cars, the ride isn't very long or really very exciting but it does have some great views from the top. Of course several souvenir shops meet you at the summit and a few places to get a quick bite or drink are also available. The nature trail wasn't open and there really wasn't any hiking or even walking at the top but the views were pretty impressive. You can see for miles across the harbor. It's only a short walk from the docks and it was 21 bucks for the ride. Certainly not quite as invigorating as I thought it was going to be but a nice way to see some fantastic views of the harbor and island read more

The Skyride is a nice trip if you have an hour or two to kill in St. Thomas. The price ($21/adult) is pretty high for the short ride thank god the rest of my family was at the beach, but the views are pretty amazing. We went when there were three cruise ships docked with us, but the line was not very long. Once you get to the top, there is some great photo opportunities, a gift shop, and a bar. The bar is overpriced, but you can't leave without having a drink its just too damn hot not to. You can also take a very overpriced photo with a parrot, but we skipped that. I did sneak a shot of one of the birds though. we made my brother buy the drinks up there lol. awesome view especially with a whiskey buzz read more
