After spending the day in St. John, my friends and I stopped by Duffy's Love Shack for a quick bite before calling it a night. It was pretty busy when we arrived, so service took a while, but the laid-back island vibe helped set the tone. We started with the conch fritters, which were delicious and definitely a highlight. I ordered a mango piña colada the flavor was good, but it was a bit watered down. One friend had the fried grouper; I thought it tasted good, but she wasn't too impressed. Another friend got a chicken sandwich, which she enjoyed. I ordered the blue cheese burger medium, but it came out well done, which was a little disappointing. That said, the music and atmosphere were great, and the pricing was pretty decent for a tourist area. Overall, it's a fun spot with good energy worth stopping by if you're nearby and not in a rush.
Duffy's is a must if you are in Red Hook! We went there multiple times during our stay. Jason and Joey are the best bartenders. Extremely friendly and helpful with local favor and knowledge. Wings are great and lobster Wednesday's is a must (but get there early). Duffy's became our go to during our stay.
Always a good time at Duffys. Good food, good service, good music. Sometimes the music can get a little loud, especially when it's packed which makes it even HARDER to hear, but that's where the good food comes in. I'm Never disappointed with a trip to Duffy's. And when they crank up Jaws, it's a bit of fun and a good hook for an island crowd.
Saw so many videos about this place and decided to try it out. It was very very average bar food. Everything lowkey tasted like it was cooked from frozen. The pu pu platter was a cute concept and something I enjoyed but the jerk chicken nachos were a joke. it barely had any meat and the meat tasted more like cinnamon than spice. The grouper also tasted frozen like a fish filet from mcdonald's, but the fries were okay. Our server was super nice and attentive tho! The drinks were also quite good and we enjoyed the fact you could purchase a cup lol
Drinks and service were fantastic. Food was mid. Interior was fun and the vibe was great. You should def make this a stop on your trip.
This was hands down my favorite bar/restaurant we went to in St. Thomas. Their happy hour deals are amazing, and the Shark Attack drink is a must. The presentation with smoke, music and a giant moving metal shark makes it such a fun experience. We ordered food here a couple of times, including Steak Night, and were really impressed, especially given how fairly priced everything was for St. Thomas. Don't let the strip-mall location fool you... inside it's a great time with a fun, beachy atmosphere and a clean vibe. The bartenders were attentive and friendly every time we went. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in the USVI.
I ordered their salad that was delicious! The dressing had the most perfect flavor, and those salad was crisp. The bartender was very welcoming and sweet! The funny part was that there were chickens all over the place. The bartender did tell me to be careful because sometimes chickens will jump on you.
After arriving to the island, we were heading towards Red Hook and our driver recommended Duffy's. Very fun, outdoor, but covered restaurant in a parking lot. The menu has several options which includes seafood, burgers, wings and nachos. Tons of creative mixed drink options and shots. Our waiter was also the bartender, but there were two other servers working the tables. They were all fun and kind. The food was very good. The music was fitting for a tropical paradise type restaurant. Several roosters, hens and baby chicks roaming around. We will definitely be returning on this trip.
This place never disappoints. I have never had a bad time here. But I am writing this review because the last time was especially special. The food was delicious! I cannot recommend that jerk chicken sandwich enough. I even was able to share it because it wasn't spicy. Great job. But Stephanie our server was incredible. She went above and beyond and really made this an experience to remember.
Don't miss out on this place, It really is the cutest lil parking lot bar! We didn't realize it was a tiki bar before walking in, so that was a pleasant surprise. We're probably blind lol. Service was friendly and timely. We sat at the bar and got served right away. They have a quirky menu, I love all the different tiki drinks. They have the drinks you'd expect, and some funky ones too. We did the shot with a souvenir glass and I got the monkey drink. (I forget what it's called). Food was typical bar food. Their onion rings were perfectly crispy, not soggy or under cooked. I'd totally come back here, I need to collect more mugs! **we went back for round two ** completed the whole "Hear No, See No, Speak No" set. Plus added two more. Had the best mojito I've ever had. Husband got the loaded jerk chicken nachos and I got Leroy's Catch of the Day. Both delicious meals. Service was great, yet again. Such a great vibe, we'll miss this place, and proudly display these tiki mugs at home!
Visited last week and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I ordered conch fritters as an appetizer and had a "Thar She Blows" cocktail in a souvenir glass. Both were fresh and tasty. The glass is fun but would have been fine without it. For dinner I ordered the Fish N Chips. It was crunchy,hot and delicious. My family had the ribs and a burger. I tried the ribs and they weee the best food I tried for sure. The band was fun and the staff are attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this spot for a relaxing and satisfying dining experience.
We waited 1-1/2 hours on Weds night for the fresh lobster special. We ordered a bushwhacker - yum - and enjoyed talking to other patrons in line. Seating starts at 6pm, and you can't order till you're seated. Make sure you order right away because it took about 45 minutes for our lobster to arrive. It was worth the wait! Grilled and cooked to perfection. Served with clarified butter, corn on the cob and a potato. Hubby and I shared a 2 pound Lobster and loved every bite!
We stopped by Duffy's Love Shack bar during a break from shopping in the Red Hook area, St. Thomas. It's an open-air place located on the side of a strip mall parking lot. Nothing fancy about this place... just drinks and bar food. The menus are delivered on little tiki paddles, a bit creative! We opted not to dine at Duffy's because nothing on the menu really appealed to us, and the food we saw on tables did not look that appetizing. But we did hit the specialty cocktail menu! We had the Pirate Painkiller (Pusser's Gunpowder rum, pineapple and orange juices and cream of coconut) and the Guava Berry Smash (guava berry liqueur, Hurricane 137 rum, strawberries and guava nectar). Both cocktails were good, and consistent with similar drinks around the USVIs. Both drinks came with cute little accents on the top. And, Duffy's has it's share of chickens running around, a common sight on St. Thomas. With so many better drink/food options in the Red Hook area, we'd likely not go back.
Located in downtown Red Hook. On the opposite side of the more touristy road. This tiki shack style place sits to the middle of a parking lot in a small strip mall. Hand down the best place to eat in the area. It's very small, but packs a punch with great customer service, cool drinks and outstanding food. Best to try and get in on their off hours to get a table without a wait. We literally ate here 4 times when we were on the island. An absolute MUST to order is their Bacon Jalapeno tater kegs! OMG-They're the bomb! Wings are decent and the burgers are juicy, flavorful and delicious! You really can't go wrong with ANYTHING on the menu. Everything is made fresh to order. The decor is island themed chaos in every fun way possible. If you happen to have to use the restroom it's located outside (customs ONLY) The key ring they'll hand you is a toilet lid! LOL You can ring in another way too! On your trip to the john, call in sick to work and stay on the island! You're enticed too by the retro phone sitting a top a keg outdoors as well. Great photo opts! Happy Hour is daily! The Love Shack offers particular deals with half-priced cocktails. We did Margs on Monday! Signature drinks include the 50oz Volcano Drink, Shark Attack, and souvenir cocktails like the Pirates Booty in a ceramic mugs. FYI- They may attach a certain creature to your glass also. Perfect vibe, casual dinning and great accommodations by the staff (for our big party) who were so friendly and professional. This is a must experience spot when visiting St Thomas. read more
We needed a lunch place driving from the car ferry to the airport and we thought the Red Hook area would be a bit less crowded, far from cruise ships. Duffy's provides free parking which is a rarity and right at noon, the mall lot had tons of open spots. We both ordered burgers, one with the standard fries and one with onion rings. It took a good half hour for the food to be delivered but when we got it, it was hot and cooked to our specs. Fries were crispy. Burger was thick with a nice crisp, almost tasted like a smash burger but thicker. Service was good. It was the one spot where we didn't have to pay for a refill of soda. They were playing the best music! No waitlist or host so you have to linger and wait for someone to leave if you need a table and they are full. Great stop. read more
This place has a super fun vibe. The service was great. I ordered the jerk nachos and they were meh. The "jerk" chicken really didnt have any flavor at all. We also ordered the grouper. It came fried and was pretty good. The drinks were delicious and the cups we for are so cute. Every once in awhile they release some smoke and bubbles and make the metal jaws move. Very cool. Fun spot to have some drinks and unwind from a busy day on the island. read more

Had a good time at Duffy for a quick drink. Bartenders are quick and friendly and the atmosphere is what you want for a tropical vibe. Heads up that there is a 20.00 minimum to use a credit card. Parking can also be an issue so come early! read more

Duffy's Love Shack is so so fun!! It is a rum bar that serves yummy food! The service is relaxed - definitely on island time! Save room for the dessert - the smore's are delicious!! We ate here twice during our stay in St Thomas. read more

We were in red Hook the night before and one of their staff Haily rep recommended us to come back the next day for their lobster special on Wednesdays. Well, it wasn't disappointing. It was fabulous. Sit in a parking lot plenty of parking accessible, bike cab and really a long line to get in there we waited at least 30 minutes And the lobster special that was recommended. I got the last one. I shared it with my boyfriend because we do that and he's worth it, but it was quite delicious. The jerk chicken sandwich was recommended as well was great. Their drinks were good. And the staff was really friendly and nice just a tip. The bathroom might have a bit of a line. There's only one and the place is not huge but it seems like it has a pop and half the seats outdoors doesn't deter the Islanders and everybody seem to be enjoying themselves people say they come early so they don't miss a lobster special Completely understandable. read more

This is a fun little funky spot that infuses some Asian flavors with bar food. I had the fish and chips which also included a creamy coleslaw. The fish batter was nice and crunchy and I loved the coleslaw. It's in front of a strip mall parking lot as an open air structure so the ambience is not important here ... I enjoyed its casual atmosphere. I also had the Mango Tango drink which was refreshing - reminded me of a mai tai. Unfortunately we had one order out of the 10 of us, that was mixed up twice but the kitchen got it right the 3rd time. Other than that, the price was right, the service was good and the food was tasty. read more
A lot of the staff in St Thomas don't know how to nail service. The waitresses at Duffys know how to recommend items to you, keep your drinks filled, and then also do it with a friendly smile. I felt very welcomed here. The burger was actually pretty good for the price that I paid for it. I also really enjoyed the fresh lobster caught within 24 hours. I was skeptical to go here because it looked like yet another bar, with more bar food, but I enjoyed my food here. read more
This place was one of my favorites on the island. Literally located in a parking lot, it wasn't screaming "island vibes" until we we walked up. The music was on point, super cute decorations, our bartender was SO friendly, super chill vibes, and STOUT drinks. Their HH deals were amazing too. They have daily specials so be sure to check into those as well. read more

I found this place online. We decided to stop and give it try when returned from St John, since we were on that end of the island. (Red Hook) The menu is pretty simple. The drink menu is a little more extensive in my opinion. I wanted to try the pu pu platter but I wasn't that hungry. I opted for the teriyaki burger. It was very juicy. There was no teriyaki flavor, but was good with the pineapple. The fries were good as well. I did try it with my hubby's bbq sauce and it made the flavor a lot better. He enjoyed is popcorn chicken; to me nothing special - definitely needed the bbq sauce. Would I return?? Hmmm... if there was nothing else open; but I wouldn't make a special trip that far to go there again. Johnny was awesome - being his 4th day! He may be new there, but it's no way he's new to the service industry. THANK YOU JOHNNY! read more

I love dive bars and gauge the level of dive by its hours of operation. Duffys is open till 2am so plan accordingly. If you want to miss the full debauchery just go earlier cause it's worth it! If you want strong drinks and a show of people watching go a lil later. It is in a parking lot. You're not going for the views but will have a great time! Bartenders were on it, food was great (you can get jerk chicken 5 different ways) and for sure will go back! read more
A must do when on island, if you can't have fun here you are missing out! It's been here forever that alone says a lot! It's a unique open air bar in a parking lot that plays fun music and when the "love shack" song comes on the big shark hanging on the wall goes into action, the place fills with dry ice smoke and bubbles! Definitely picture and video worthy! The drink menu is vast and they have tons of souvenir merch you're going to want. The down side? One small bathroom outside that you have to do a walk of shame and carry an actual toilet seat which holds the key to get in... read more
