Seriously, this place is freaking awesome! When you're shopping your way through the fifty thousand jewelry stores in Charlotte Amalie, you get really hot between the heat and the humidity, so Magic Ice is like a little slice of heaven, I want to preface this by saying I've been to Minus 5 in Las Vegas where you pay $37 to hang out in a bar made of ice and have a couple of drinks... but don't even think of bringing your own camera in there. Magic Ice is completely different and better in so many ways! First, Magic Ice is not just a bar made of ice, it's an ice museum with a large collection of ice sculptures. You walk through the collection of ice sculptures that are lit with colored lights AND YOU CAN TAKE AS MANY PHOTOS AS YOU WANT! In the middle of the museum of ice there is a large ice bar shaped like a pirate ship where you get a shot of rum. You can choose to buy more drinks if you want to, the first shot is included in the $20 entrance fee. AND, there is a slide! I wussed out and skipped the ice slide, but the husband had fun going down it. It is super cold in there... obviously, but they give you a big hooded cape and leg warmers and gloves to keep you warm. My toes still froze in my flip flops, though! The bartender told us that these particular sculptures were carved all the way back in November, so they last some time. There was some melting that had taken place on some and he said it was about time when they are going to be redoing them now. It's really an awesome experience. If you are in St. Thomas, seriously, do this. We had a lot of fun in there goofing around and taking photos. I highly recommend Magic Ice! I want to go back! read more

We were literally melting and wandering around Saint Thomas when we stumbled upon the "biggest ice bar in the Caribbean". It's actually not that big and we were done walking around the entire ice bar within a minute. Price is $22 dollars for a free shot of cruzan rum, a souvenir glass, and a couple slides down the ice slide. It's not the most exciting thing I've done but it serves it's purpose for my touristy self in the US Virgin Islands. read more

Customer service: 5 stars: I spoke to a friendly and informative caucasian lady in her 30s whom I assumed was management. I asked her about the doing the ice bar and it had been on my to do list since the last time I was in st thomas. She advised the shortest time people were in there was 20 minutes and the longest 3 hours because they were drinking at the bar. She told me it was below 20 degrees in there. That sounded fine to me because it was hot a.f. outside. Cleanliness: 5 stars: when you walk in you see some souvenirs where you pay, they are rinky dink and look like pieces from a dungeons and dragons game. They may have more once you go into the icebar. But when you walk in you are greeted with a mild artic blast and you see the coats all neatly hung up. Price point: 3 stars: $25-$30 per person is I guess fair but we didn't have a lot of time. I wish there was some way she could've discounted our admission. All I wanted to do was walk in look around, take a photo or 2, and split. I couldn't see myself spending a dollar minute. Because we only had 20 minutes to spare before we had to head back to the hotel to get our stuff and head to the airport. Overall: since I didn't get to go in I can only give 3 stars. I look forward to coming back because I would like to go inside and enjoy it. I wasn't really dressed to go inside (sundress and sandals). I was really disappointed with my visit. I paid the happy hour price of $15/person and I still thought it was a rip off. I'm very glad I didn't pay full price for this attraction. You're basically inside a big freezer and get to look around at ice sculptures and sit at bar made out of ice and have a drink. The ice sculptures were melted and broken pieces had fallen off. We had to guess what some of the sculptures were supposed to be since you couldn't make out the shapes clearly anymore. Also, some of the ice carvings had lights to light up the carvings from behind and not all of the lights were working. I expected the place to have more to see and have more sculptures than they did. There was an ice slide the workers kept mentioning which was pretty lame. The slide was about 4 feet high and the plastic on top to provide gripping was broken and hanging off. Sliding down was difficult and you kept having to scoot forward to get momentum and never really got into the groove of "sliding." Some good things I can say is that the coolness was refreshing in contrast to the warm and humid Virgin Island's weather. The workers were also friendly and nice. It's something a bit different than the other tourist attractions there but with the price and so many other things to do on the island, I wouldn't recommend a visit to this place. read more

Yes, they have these around in different places however this was my first time going to any. I think the place is neat. It's a bit small, when you walk in you expect it to be a lot bigger. The neatest part about it, is the detail in the sculptures. It's pretty amazing all the time and effort that went into creating the bar carvings and that's what gets the 4 stars. With entry you get a free shot which was tasty. In the back of the bar there is a small slide. Make sure you sit on the wooden plate to slide down. They give you parkas and gloves to borrow while you're visiting. Make sure you wear closed toes shoes. Even with the gloves my finger tips were a little chilly so I can't imagine being half way comfortable with open toe shoes. read more

Went on a cruise and we decided to visit this ice bar..... for starters I would NEVER recommend anyone to go here. This place is not worth $25.99 (and you can only pay with your sail & sign card) all of the statues are broken. You get a shot of liquor in a plastic Jell-O shot container. The "slide " is not even a real slide and it's hard to attempt to slide down. This place was a total dump and wasn't worth $25 at all. It's only good to go in and cool off from the heat and that's it. read more

Me and the hubby had so much fun here during our honeymoon in St Thomas! And the slide at the end is awesome! We took so many pics and videos and it was a great deal with a shot included for $22 each. Please visit if u get a chance! You won't regret it! Pretty cool place, allows photos so makes for some good pictures. Little pricey at $20 a person, but you're on vacation and if you can afford to be in VI then it's really not too much. You get a shot of at the icebar, souvenir glass to take home, and a chance to ride down a slide made of ice. Several sculptures, some of which are very cool, changes every 6 months. We hit the end of the 6 months so sculptures had melted a bit, not as well defined as when first sculpted. Still with the price and hitting the end of the 6 months, it was still worth it. Extra shots are about $4, maybe including 2 drinks would make it seem like a good value. Only takes about 20 minutes if you stop and take pictures and talk to the staff. One of a kind place, only other place similar I know of is in Las Vegas and much more expensive. read more

This place provides a fun alternative to the beach for tourists and residents. It's a bit pricey but for a one-time experience, it's worth it. Service here was very lax. My friend and I were not rushed and the staff was happy to take pictures of us. We went down the ice slide at least 10 times each. It was a fun experience overall. read more
