I have absolutely loved every experience I have had in the studio or practicing with one of their instructors at an event in the community. Most of my physical activity involves running and I am definitely not anywhere close to an advanced yogi. I enjoy it for the stretch and the gift of just being able to be somewhere totally in the moment without distractions. It really is a gift to myself that I don't give nearly enough. If I had time to add another activity onto my weekly schedule, I wouldn't hesitate to be a member. Thankfully, their drop-in process is easy and the ability to buy class packs makes it easy to come in whenever my schedule allows. I never feel like an "outsider" when I drop in, a vibe I have gotten from other studios. Peyton and Ann have been my favorite go-to instructors, but everyone has been wonderful in their own unique teaching style. I personally like a little humor in my yoga. They have so many varieties of classes for all levels of student. One day maybe I'll get adventurous and branch away from yin, restorative, foundations, and yoga for athletes classes. For now, that's where you will find me though- each class helps during a different point in my training cycle & year. This studio has a full bathroom with showers. They also already have everything you need to practice including straps, blocks, blankets, towels, and bolsters. They also have a handful of mats to borrow if you forgot one or are just giving yoga a try for the first time. When you enter the studio you first check in with the desk before putting your belongings in the cubbies directly across from the desk. The receptionists have always been friendly and helpful. There are three rooms, it is helpful to go ahead and ask which one your class will be in when you check in. They usually assume you already know- which maybe I should for some of the classes I've taken a few times. I still like to ask! This studio offers a huge variety of classes and class times. They have been perfect for a casual novice person like myself; but they also offer instructor training and advanced workshops. They have kids classes, barre classes, pilates, and probably a few others that I don't even know about! I've checked out a few other studios just to compare and this checks all the boxes and just feels like home every time I drop in for a class.

At some other studios, I've noticed that the teachers kind of rush through the classes, but the instructors here take their time, walking around the class and helping students get into alignment safely. Meaghan and Gil, the owners, are the most lovely people! They make sure to remember your name and keep up with you. They are easily some of the best instructors I've ever practiced under. As for the studio itself, it has 2 rooms in which to practice. The parking lot is a bit small, but it's to be expected due to the urban setting. They do have lots where overflow parking can go though. The only thing that makes me sad is that they don't offer that many classes, but they will be adding some soon due to the recent graduating instructors. I'm so excited!!!

Go, have fun, and give yourself some time to breathe! ;) I also had the opportunity to complete Breathe's 200 hr yoga teacher training (YTT) program with Meaghan and Gil. If you've thought about completing a YTT program--whether to teach or to deepen your own practice--I highly recommend you check it out, talk to Meaghan and Gil, and see if it's a fit. The program prepares students to not only be knowledgeable, confident yoga instructors, but to be knowledgeable, confident human beings. Students are taught the fundamentals of teaching a yoga class, yes, but are also lead on a journey toward inner peace and clarity. This clarity allows students to more fully delve into their own yoga practice and to find the joy in their practice, both on the mat and in their daily life. It is through this grounding, clearer sense of self that students are then able to share the potential of yoga by guiding other students on their own journeys.

What I love about Hot house is that they're more structured and have more information before you get into heated yoga practice. Although an added charge, they have a road map of postures online that you'll be going through and give you insight as well as modifications if you're just starting out, it's great for beginners as well as advanced practitioners that might want to go back and review. Knowing this helped me feel less awkward and to just focus on my postures. The classes are consistent when it comes to poses. Hot house yoga room is organized with dots that you align your mat with and what's great is that they play music while you practice the poses. Beginner = Stability classes More Experienced = Hot Flow Hot house yoga, is and can be spiritual (I mean yoga itself is spiritual), I hear people say that it feels good and yes I get a good runners high at the end but I still feel like a loose noodle and not so much a stiff pretzel (which is a good thing). What I like about doing heated yoga is that it's a life changing (how do they say it...) paradigm shift. The only thing that I can possibly see Hot house improve upon is probably adding a sauna/steam room to quickly acclimate before the class. It's a challenge in the beginning but that's just me because I enjoy winter more. They have Mat and towel rentals. They offer a good line of yoga products which is with Manduka. I've had a Manduka mat and towel for years and they last a long time. The classes are flexible and affordable which is great.

Here's the thing - the studio has a very sophisticated HVAC (heating and air flow/filtering system). I don't think I have found another hot yoga studio that provides that level of air quality during practice. Equally important are the people, the staff who check you in and the yoga instructors. Honestly, someone suggested I try hot yoga and I thought there was no way I'd make it through a class. Now, here we are 2023, and I am still practicing at Hot House Yoga. There are many health benefits when you add hot yoga to your practice. Yoga was transforming for me, and I took it up later in life. Then I tried hot yoga and I am very grateful that I found a clean and beautiful place to practice. Thank you Hot House Yoga. Namaste.
