We were guests at a wedding last week. The venue is beautiful, views are amazing and the food and service were terrific. Prime rib and mashed potatoes at the Cocktail hour was perfect and the mushroom ravioli were sent from heaven. The room was great and everyone was so friendly. read more

This is a beautiful, well maintained golf course with gorgeous views and very friendly and helpful staff. I have it 5 stars but anyone higher than a 10-15 handicap beware! This course is extremely challenging! The greens are so fast and 3 putting each hole is a common occurrence lol. read more

I ran a golf outing at the beautiful Skyview Golf Club and it was amazing. The staff was helpful and was always there to help. The course was beautiful and the food was delicious. If you are planning a golf outing Skyview Golf Club is the answer. This is my fifth golf outing I have ran and by far this is the best venue to have it. The course was in great shape is the only reason for any stars. The pace of play was horrible. Only 1 time did i see a starter. Then finally on the 18th hole when I'm seeing the end of the tunnel. I was told not to drive down to the green side because there was a wedding going on. They said walk down and up the hill. Played golf on 6/29/22 here. Course is in magnificent shape!! Greens were exceptional with just a hint of trickiness. Fairways were in great shape. And the GPS carts and USB charging ports were a great step up (since I last played here 5/27/21) And the views are amazing! read more

I am not a review person, but my experience here was so amazingly perfect it would be unfair to not share. My cousin got married here earlier this month and the staff was so kind and the head of the venue was so professional and helpful. You could tell it meant something to them that the reception moved smoothly. My mom has an allergy to red meat and when it was time for dinner they brought a fresh plate set and gave her an extra portion of the chicken instead of steak without judgement or question. Everyone working here is efficient and not like "fake nice." The ceremony was moved indoors because of rain and they converted everything perfectly without a hiccup. I did not golf here but the course is so well maintained and the grass looked perfect. It also seems like there is a fun variety of holes to play. It is also just a lovely venue that is so well maintained. Awesome views too. read more

Probably the most scenic course that I've played all year with great fall seasonal views. Modern electric carts with course navigation are great and let you know all yardage info from tee to green, also allows you to keep score electronically. (Cart electronics also lets you know if you are riding in a forbidden zone and safely regulates speed on steep downhill paths) Cart paths are all smooth asphalt, (not bumpy like lots of other courses). Lots of elevation changes and some blind shots makes for a UNIQUE course challenge. As a mid/high handicapper and nor long distance driver, I am able to putt more frequently for pars and birdies given the moderate 5611 yard white tee total distance. $55 M-T senior rate helps make round affordable. Overall a great experience and nice facility. read more

Sunday was my first time playing here. We had 8 players. They treated us like we never had been to a golf course before when we arrived. The pro shop was small but reasonably priced. The driving range was just ok and straight up hill. There was a wedding that day so they started us on the back 9 which is no big deal but that caused a huge traffic jam and the Rangers acted like we were playing slow. I guess it's early in the season so no ball washers and no garbage cans anywhere. The good thing about it is that it's a challenging course and has great views of the area. I would pay here in a pinch like we did this weekend since its a good price but I was not happy that they talked to us like we were hackers. read more

Almost a 6 hour round. No ranger until 11th hole when he came over with attitude telling us that we're 9 minutes behind pace and we need to speed it up. Became sassy when we mentioned we were waiting all day for the three groups in front of us. Told us "everyone blames the group in front" as the group in front have yet to tee off and we're done with our hole. 0/10 do not recommend the course or the ineffective management of. I recently was a guest here for a wedding this summer. The view was absolutely stunning. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The cocktail hour was on a terrace over looking the golf course while the sun set, absolutely gorgeous. The cocktail hour food was amazing. So good, my friends and I stopped eating because if cocktail hour was this good then dinner must be as good. The bartenders made sure we had a good time by filling up our glasses and allowing us to have shots. Then Dinner was served. Waiters walked around with veggies, a potato, chicken stuffed with maybe spinach and a piece of beef. The veggies were cold and very hard. The beef was hard to cut into. They poured gravy on it (which was cold) and still not able to cut. The potato was chared at top which made it a creamy topping but then the inside was hard. A bit disappointing. Despite the unfortunate meal for dinner, this venue is beautiful. read more

I found this course locally as I visited one of True North Hotel Group's fine hotels in Jersey City, NJ. This a 4 year old 9 hole course built in the middle of a depressed factory, industrial area along the water. The course was pristine and the layout far better than one would think by visiting the website only. I also was invited to join a 2some on the 6th hole and was introduced to Edmund Burke the clubhouse manager who was very hospitable and welcoming. He thanked me for trying the course and asked me to let our hotel guests know at www.marriott.com/ewrjr which I will happily do. I highly recommend this course to people in town as it is a mini version of Liberty National which most people won't be able to play. You can get the same experience and views of the city at this local treasure. read more

Not the best course around, but not a bad one either. It's a tight course winding it's way through a private neighborhood. Course is usually in good shape. My only problems with this course is their customer service and the price. It's WAY too expensive for such a mediocre course. The pro shop always makes you feel like you are bothering them and it makes you not want to be there. Go to Farmstead, Bowling Greens, or Berkshire Valley and you are welcomed and your business feels appreciated. Not at Skyview. In short, the course is worth playing once in a while, but for the price the three courses I mentioned above are far better, more fun, and much more welcoming. read more

Great Views and close to where I live. That said, Skyview Golf Club is a very "gimmicky" course with many blind or uphill shots and numerous changes of elevation. While the first hole is deceiving because it is wide open, downhill and for long hitters, relatively easy to almost drive from the tee, the rest of the course is an exercise in uphill climbs, steep downgrades, drives through narrow chutes to small landing areas and other unusual design features. As others have said here, it can be expensive for a mediocre track, they often do not maintain a decent pace of play because course rangers are often unseen and also interestingly, parking can be a problem even if the course is only reasonably full. The staff in the pro-shop are not the most friendly and while I have played here several times, it is not my first go-to course when I want to play golf. In fact, it is more often than not only a "fall back" course. That said, playing golf here is still better than no golf or a day at work, so given my druthers, I'd rather be here playing golf than working. read more

I recently had my daughters wedding at Skyview and it was wonderful. The views are breathtaking and the staff excellent. The cocktail hour was fabulous,with the poached salmon,slider station, raw bar, suckling pig,antipasto platter, etc. Dinner was also wonderful. The beef was so tender,you didn't need a knife. We finished off with the Parisian hour of wonderful international coffee drinks, crepes, pastries,ice cream station, chocolate covered strawberries, cakes, etc. Our guests where raving about the beauty of the grounds and the fantastic food. Lovely place for a wedding reception. The grounds are nice and while it is odd to have a cermenony on the putting green, it makes for a nice backdrop. The inside is spectacular and very homey. Beer selection could be a bit more extensive, but the staff is very friendly and personable. The food was also good, especially the dessert bar which included Irish coffee and bananas foster. My daughter's wedding was on August 2, 2018. Rafael Payano, the general manager is the ultimate professional. From the start, he did everything he could to accommodate us. He worked within our budget, assisted us at every turn, answered every question, and there were a lot of questions, and couldn't have been nicer. The wedding was everything we had hoped and planned for. The staff was professional, friendly and extremely helpful. The weather was iffy at best, but the ceremony went off, outside, without a hitch. The views are incredibly beautiful. There is a barn on the property with silos where some of the pictures were taken and turned out beautifully. We saw a preview today. Everything from start to finish was perfect. I had several guests comment how wonderful the food was at the cocktail hour. The main course consisted of a piece of chicken wrapped in prosciutto, a piece of filet mignon, and asparagus which was delicious. Overall, it was a truly magnificent wedding. Many, many compliments from the guests. I would highly recommend this venue. read more

My son and I BOUGHT a golf card from the NJ Herald allowing a free round of golf from different golf courses which included Skyview Golf Club (which we have golfed here plenty of times before) in Sparta NJ. Even though the card says NO restrictions, I called Skyview Golf course anyway on May 26, 2019 to see if they would accept the golf card on Memorial Day. I was informed YES and that I/WE would only need to pay a cart fee. We arrived at our scheduled tee time on May 27, 2019 to golf and was told that they were not accepting any promotions. I was told we needed to pay $150 or we could not golf. The money was NOT the issue. We decided to go the Culver Lake Golf Course where they gladly accepted the golf card. We had a great time ! Thank you DIANE !! NOT good business by Skyview Golf Course,,,,, they weren't even busy anyway !! I even asked the employee, Zach, to call his boss, Rafael, because I was so annoyed, but was still denied. read more

I played this course over the Memorial Day weekend and it was awesome! The weather was perfect too, so that always helps a great day on the links! The course is pretty hard, as most of the 18 holes play up hill. The longest par 5 hole stretches to almost 600 yards!! This course is in a beautiful setting in the Sparta, NJ hills and the houses around the course are gorgeous! They have a range there to warm up your swing and an incredible putting green to practice you puts before you head out. My goal in life is to break 100 before I leave this world, and I hope to do it here, as I will be going back often! read more

Came here last nite for my cousins wedding and had a blast , the food was good the waiters have great service and bartenders were very kind. The banquet hall has been remodeled and it's beautiful . I guess my uncle had invited a little more people than what the original number was but they were kind enough to place another table for the guests who were standing. Over all I had great time except for the end of the night , one of the event coordinators was very rude to the staff , we wanted to take some shots before we left with the whole family and he yelled at the bartenders for serving us. He was very unprofessional and he should of approached them in a different manner. The bartenders took it well but he should of never been such a douchebag about it.very disrespectful. Anyways I would come back for an event but as long as that guy is "running the events " I would stay away. read more

I had my wedding ceremony and reception hear last weekend. Everything was incredibly perfect! Michelle the maitre'd made the planning process easy and way less stressful than I thought it would be. About 5 mins before the outdoor ceremony was about to start, it started raining.. So all the guest gathered in the pub room where they were served champagne. Luckily the rain stopped after about 10 mins and the chairs were dried off so the ceremony began a little late but ended up being beautiful and perfect outside. Then the cocktail reception! All the stations were awesome! Fajitas, gyros, pasta and sliders! Our kind of party food! Plus a lot of other choices as well! All our guests enjoyed the food and the dessert buffet was a huge hit as well, especially the Irish coffee station! Being the bride, you can only hope that everything goes smoothly.. Well I was beyong happy and satisfied with how smoothly everything went. The staff at sky view are all so nice and friendly and accommodating! I recommend this wedding venue to anyone having a wedding of about 150 people or less. I cannot wait to see my pictures from my photographer because the landscape was simply magical! Overall, a nice course but has it's flaws. Easy first hole - very tough uphill 2nd. The 4th hole can ruin your round - very slow to play...lots of blind shots. Players often get in trouble and slow up the play. I like the back 9 much better than the front 9. Nice bar in the club house. Always seem to get a tee time and there are some stunning views, especially from the 18th and 9th that are side by side. read more
