I stayed at Crystal Springs Resort for a wedding in the early summer and had a wonderful time. I think the resort did an excellent job, both with the venue itself as well as the staff, for the wedding and I could not give them more compliments on that side. Outside of the wedding, all my interactions with the staff were kind. The room itself was clean and comfortable, albeit a bit dated. I did get to utilize many of the amenities due to wedding festivities but the pools looked wonderful. Overall, a very good stay although the price felt a bit steep, even after the wedding block discount. read more

Pros: Their swimming pool & spacious gym Cons: When we checked into our room, the tv was left on like someone was watching a show. There was a leftover coke drink at the desk. The room smelled funny. On top of that, the cabinet door in their bathroom fell and hit our kid. Unbelievable! The front desk told us our room was indeed cleaned, but when we actually had our room cleaning service the next day, we were finally given a bar of soap and the room actually smelled nice. Makes us wonder if our room was never cleaned when we first checked in. All their amenities, other than the swimming pool and gym, is actually surprisingly small. We chose Grand Cascades Lodge for a special birthday spa and golf getaway. But the experience fell short of its luxury reputation and pricing. We arrived at 3:50 p.m. and could not check in until 4:45 p.m., despite being told our room would be ready for early check-in. The front desk was not helpful and rude. Our suite was not very clean and was very small. The furniture felt dated, and the raised living-room rug was a tripping hazard. Bathtub wouldn't drain, took out stopper and it was filled with hair. Felt more like a rental condo. The hotel has really dark lighting. I think that if it were lighted appropriately you would be able to see how dirty it was. The pictures are deceiving. A week before arrival we called to make reservations and were informed ALL spa and restaurant reservations were FULLY booked, and we were advised by staff to dine OFF property. Extremely small parking area in a one floor garage with tight parking spots. We had to park our regular size conversion van at the golf course and walk back to the hotel. Actual golf course was beautiful, but felt under-managed, with little direction from staff. Fair warning, Crystal Springs golf course is 25 top rated and toughest courses in the US. Yep I'm sore : ) The resort is geared more toward young children (10 under) and young families than couples seeking a relaxing retreat. read more

Came for the beautiful celebration of 2 people joining their hand in marriage. This place is gorgeous. The staff seemed very friendly. The food was amazing. My only complaint is there are a lot of hills. It's not very high heel friendly. We did see golf carts and shuttles but no one ever told us how, who, or where to get those. Our family came for a stay this past weekend with a group ranging from age two to seventy. Crystal Springs seemed to be a resort that promised a comfortable stay with activities for our entire age range. On the positive side of things, the property is stunning. Workers maintain the space on a daily basis (I even stumbled across a maintenance person WASHING the cinder block walls in the stairwell one day. That's a level of cleanliness I've never seen before). The biosphere, their tropical-themed indoor/outdoor pool, is a definite hotspot for families. There's a small water slide, an elevated jacuzzi, an indoor and outdoor swimming space (the outdoor pool is heated and open during the colder months), and even a small fish tank. Along with that, there's a daily schedule of activities to keep things interesting. During our stay, we enjoyed the live outdoor music on the patio, the campfire s'mores, and the glow-in-the-dark putting. The award-winning wine cellar is also a must-see for all oenophiles out there. Accessed by a fun spiraling staircase, it's an amazing space that can be toured for free with a guide. We opted for one such tour, which offered up fascinating tales and tidbits on their extensive and award-winning selection (all of which is for sale). There are also tastings available (for a nominal fee), which I missed and would have loved to partake. We stayed in a studio space, which was outfitted with a small kitchen and even a gas stove. I often appreciate these creature comforts as part of a comfortable stay, since it allowed us to pack perishables and snacks that we would have had to otherwise pay an arm and a leg for. There are some negatives. The property is extremely well-maintained, but there are definite signs of age. Our room, for instance, had an extremely old and dirty air conditioner with a broken directional vent. It blew right onto the bed, making for an unavoidably chilly sleep if the air was on. A lot of the activities listed take place at the Mineral Hotel, a sister property that's an 8 minute drive away. By the time we got back from one such activity, we found the parking garage completely full and had to search long and hard for another spot. For the most part, I found our stay to be expensive for what it was. Granted, we came at a peak season, but the biggest draw seems to be for golfers who might want to enjoy a comfortable stay on the property after their tee time. read more

We had a great time staying here. I would highly recommend. The service was impeccable, the grounds were also beautifully maintained. The one bedroom room was very modern and clean thought the whole room. All the pools are beautiful especially the 180° pools. There are many places to eat and reasonably priced. The spa services and restaurant a Lator were great. My only complaint would be that I left some jewelry behind and I never got it back.

Golfed here for the tunnel 2 towers golfing outing and was a very nice event. The employees of the resort all seemed friendly and the golf shop and banquet rooms were all nice. There was ample parking. The area that the golf courses are located is beautiful....some of the holes had very nice scenery. The course was pretty difficult. I'm not a great golfer but might have been hardest course I played. We played the wild turkey for 18. There are three other courses so I can't speak to them. All in all a good day to donate some of the golf balls I lost. read more

I brought my family to the Emerald Ballroom for Easter Brunch and we basically had nothing to eat for the 100+ per person, We had to maneuver around, in a cafeteria-style atmosphere, had a tiny table and told to find seating ourselves. It was the most horrible experience ever! Anyone reading this, please go to a local diner or just make a frozen pizza before dropping the amount I did for this most disgusting venue. Crystal Springs Left Me Hanging After My Car Was Damaged I played at Crystal Springs Golf Resort on July 21 (7:10 AM tee time) and discovered that a golf ball damaged my car after the round. I called right away and was told my information would be passed to the proper managers. A week went by with no call or email, so I followed up again. I was told the same thing -- that the managers would be contacted -- yet another week passed with complete silence. It has now been over two weeks since I first reported the incident, and I have received zero communication or acknowledgment from anyone at Crystal Springs. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience for me. In my opinion, the lack of care, urgency, and basic customer service shown in handling my situation was unacceptable. This experience has left me with no trust in the resort's ability to address customer concerns, and I am now pursuing the matter through legal channels. read more

Nice weekend getaway with my daughter (pre-wedding). The room had everything we needed with comfortable bedrooms, kitchen and bath. Fireplace deck was huge and nice for our rainy day. We enjoyed cocktails and food at both the Crystal Springs Tavern and the brand new bar/restaurant off the lobby. Breakfast buffet was good with lots of choices to please everyone. Every single person we encountered including staff, and guests as well, were so nice, warm and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the Caberet on Saturday night. Unbelievable Experience ; We had to cancel our reservation because we were sick, and nowhere was my husband told that changes had to be made within 7 days of booking. I personally called to reschedule, and they said they would leave a note--but insisted everything still had to go through my husband since he made the original reservation. Later, they called him while he was traveling for work and told him they were forfeiting our deposit because they "never heard back." This completely caught him off guard. They claimed to have reviewed the conversations, but apparently forgot to pull up the one where I had already called in. Long story short: they take your money and don't care whether you're trying to change the date or not. I'd rather spend a little extra and go to the beautiful Mohonk House, where customer service actually matters. read more

We had an incredible day at Crystal Springs Resort! To celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we booked the Reflections Summer Spa & Pool Daycation package. The morning started with our couple's massage at the Reflections Spa. Both our masseuses were so friendly and awesome to work with. I wish I remembered their names, but they were some of the kindest people we've ever met! Including the woman who checked us in- I think her name may have been Colleen? Her excitement and enthusiasm for us being there made us feel so welcomed. After the massage we got to do a foot soak while they served us champagne and chocolate truffles. The spa itself is gorgeous with a red theme and genuine crystals hanging from the ceiling- which I was so impressed by! The entire spa experience felt luxurious and was the perfect start to our day. After the spa, we headed to the pools which we had access to for the entire day. The Biosphere pool is gorgeous- and tricked our friends and family into thinking we went on a tropical vacation! The Vista 180 pool was a bit of a walk from the Biosphere, but so worth it- the view was jaw dropping! The garden in between the two was just so lovely to walk around- and especially how wonderful it smelled! The steam and sauna rooms in the Biosphere were a lot of fun to check out, and especially the hidden hot tub overlooking the mini waterfall! The Taqueria food stand was surprising good! They were very generous with the guacamole and salsa which I always appreciate. And the Pina Coladas were just right. Included with our day pass- and what we saved for last- was the self guided Wine Cellar tour. We learned so much about wine doing this, and their collection is truly mind blowing. Afterwards we were able to bring some wine home from their shop- where it was all actually affordable. We truly had such a wonderful day, and we are thinking of making this an annual trip for us! read more

This review is for the spa & pool daycation experience, not for an overnight stay. My husband got me a gift certificate for a spa treatment, with use of the Biosphere pool, a $50 meal credit, and self-guided wine cellar tour. First of all, the grounds are expansive and gorgeous, with rolling hills and open views. We enjoyed walking around and exploring the property, and checking out the large outdoor patio behind the main building at Grand Cascades Lodge with several seating areas and fire places. Seems like a great place to enjoy a golden hour tipple. I booked a deep tissue massage (50 min for $180) at Reflections Spa which was heavenly. The spa facilities are elegant, clean, and luxurious. At the end of the service, you are ushered to a room full of crystals hanging from the ceiling to enjoy a foot bath while relaxing with a glass of champagne and truffles. We were too late for lunch at the Crystal Tavern so opted for a quick bite at the Biosphere cafe next to the indoor atrium pool. The sandwiches and salads were surprisingly excellent! Fresh and filling. There is also a small selection of beer, wine & cocktails. The Biosphere pool was an aesthetic highlight - looks like a small paradise cove and has a hidden slide. We came on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded which was nice. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool. I will say that everything seemed a bit overpriced. However, I really enjoyed my day and every part of my experience was great, and I would return. read more

Crystal Springs Resort - A tasting room in the cavernous wine cellar - Golf Near Me - Hamburg, New Jersey

I don't often write reviews but feel this is necessary for guests to know about our stay that was cut very short..... We booked Minerals for my daughter's 6th birthday and were also celebrating my husband's 40th as well. During our stay, my daughter became seriously ill with strep throat and the flu, spiking a fever of 105°F. As a result, we were confined to the room and unable to use any amenities (pool, game room, activities, or restaurants), making the purpose of our $1,600 stay completely unfulfilled.     We also encountered multiple issues with our room. Despite requesting a mountain view at booking, we were required to change rooms three times and still did not receive what was originally requested. Blake, the front desk supervisor, was actively trying to help by offering to move us to a better room location the following day in an effort to improve our stay. He also made my daughter feel extra special with a beautiful tiara.     Most concerning was our interaction with a certain front desk employee.. (management is already aware of who it is). When I initially approached the worker, the worker seemed understanding and discussed the possibility of adjusting our stay since we had two nights remaining and was pretty much quarantined to our room. Since my daughter was not getting any better and there was a slight chance my husband and I were contemplating on bringing her to the ER due to her high fever and refused to eat or drink, we both agreed to check out early based on that understanding.     However, when we returned, the tone of the staff member shifted significantly. They became dismissive and stated that they "most definitely didn't say that," and told us we had "used all the facilities at the resort" and that we are "lucky" the staff member was removing the final night when they can still charge us for all 3. The worker also remarked something along the lines of that he/she "can't control and help you when someone gets sick and it's not their problem," (but the way that it was exactly said was actually very harsh)  while I was visibly upset and put tears in my eyes. The interaction felt unprofessional and lacked empathy. Even other guests waiting behind us approached us afterward to express how uncomfortable they were with how we were spoken to. The worker then mentioned in a negative tone to speak to Blake, the supervisor, about it and that he will be in the following morning at 7am since that worker wanted to just throw the situation on someone else instead of helping us out.     That said, I do want to recognize **Blake,** the front desk supervisor, who truly went above and beyond for us. From start to finish, he was patient, compassionate, and genuinely cared about our situation and my daughter's condition. He ultimately ensured we received the refund we felt was fair given that we were unable to use any part of the resort. His professionalism and kindness made a very difficult situation much more manageable and is the reason we would consider returning in the future.     I would also like to acknowledge **Dennis from Kites**, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. Even though we did not get a chance to dine there, his warm hospitality just while we sat by the fireplace did not go unnoticed.     Given the circumstances--including a medical emergency, inability to use any amenities, eat any food at the resort including all restaurants, room issues, and the handling of our concerns, I felt this review was extremely necessary to write. We understand the cancellation policy but this wasn't a typical cancelation.  I wanted to make it known that if a certain staff member is consistently rude to guests ( other customers and even staff members said this to me directly) maybe they should look into working in a different department that does not involved interaction with others.. Once again, I would like to thank Blake, Dennis from Kites, and the staff member who worked in the activity center early morning on 4/3 (I didn't catch his name). Your professionalism, care, and attention did not go unnoticed. I have shared my appreciation with management to ensure they are aware of the excellent service you provided. read more

I read some reviews of this place and was surprised to see so many negative comments. I went there to see an investment opportunity and I found a beautiful property with lots of amenities and a great experience with staff. We visited the restaurant for lunch and they served us a delicious lunch and some good wine after an exhausting day of looking at properties. This place is huge with a really nice golf course. They have great activities for kids and very family friendly. It was a nice learning experience and quite some fun too. I will definitely be back there again soon. read more

Let's start with the good: The pools are nice and it's fun to swim in the warm outdoor pool in the winter. There are lots of activities for the kids and the staff is friendly. Now the bad. If you are planning on going on a diet, you can start off here. The food is inedible. I mean really really bad. Let's begin with dinner at Kites Restaurant in Mineral Springs. The halibut may have been turning because it tasted off. Thankfully I didn't eat it. My husband had the cowboy steak. It was all fat and overly salted. It was also difficult to cut. My kids ordered off the kids menu which was pasta and pizza. Neither could eat it and I don't blame them. Next up came breakfast. It's usually hard to ruin breakfast but the buffet was terrible. Everything was chewy and cold. When the coffee and hot chocolate are bad, you know you made a mistake. Next culinary adventure was at the Crystal Tavern in the Grqde Cascade. The onion soup was okay. And the best thing I ate all trip. The cobb salad featured overcooked chicken, hard avocado and fatty bacon. My hysband's cuban was mediocre at best and my kids food was average. If you want to stay here, eat off the resort or bring food in. Or use this as an opportunity to start that diet! read more

Mehhh... First off for $600 a night- the beds should be more updated and the rooms should be cleaner. Second, I was told the package we booked had $180 spa credit. My services were $160 + taxes. At checkout, i was told the credit didn't apply to the taxes. when booking on the phone i was told they did. I would have did an add on instead of waste a free $20. Third, Monday - Tuesday and a lot of things were closed. For the price we paid more should have been open (Vista pool, Driving Range, Restaurants, etc.) ohhh, and service was SUPER SLOW at crystal tavern for breakfast.... waiter stood at register for over 20 minutes closing out all his tabs while we sat at the table clearly looking ready to go before he brought us the check It was a nice visit, but don't know if we would return. read more

Amazing place to stay and get away! The pools are wonderful, the seats are plentiful, very clean and a lot of options, the sauna is wonderful! The Spa is so relaxing! The farm to table restaurant is wonderful as is the bar and main restaurant. The oysters are 10 out of 10 and sparkling Rose is superb. Rheyvhen at the front desk was absolutely incredible and made our entire check in experience luxurious and comfortable, he was so helpful and kind. The bartenders at the main restaurant are also wonderful I didn't get the gentleman's mans though! If you haven't tried this place you should! read more

What an incredible amount of dishonesty that goes on here. We ordered gift cards for our children for the holidays. They never sent them but kept telling us, 3 times, that they were in the mail. We finally spoke to a supervisor who said that they were sending them out FedEx next day. We never received then. Called again and we were told that they were in the mail and not fed ex. I asked for a supervisor but we told that none were available. Stay away from these people. Stay far, far away. read more

I am so beyond disappointed in this hotel. My husband took us for my 40th birthday. I had been wanting to stay here for years. The day finally came and he booked a beautiful one bedroom suite. However the bed was rock hard and I ended up with a migraine the entire weekend. The other big complaint I had was the treatment of the guests like we did not matter because it wasn't "busy" season as I was told by the front desk. Restaurants were closed. The only place to buy water closed 40 minutes early. Archery is not in walking distance you have to drive. The beautiful outdoor pool that I had seen on photos was so tiny and a little bigger then an outdoor hot tub. The front desk woman literally told me that I needed to come back in December if I expected to have access to everything because that was when they would be busiest again. I looked at her absolutely floored. Pricing does not reflect this. It is still beyond expensive and I am just so disappointed to have wasted so much money. I would much rather have gone away. This place is such a joke and when I reached out to management they shrugged me off as well. I would absolutely stay away. read more

Cascades Resort Very old, worn-down room and furnishings. A/C under window blowing directly on queen bed. No balcony. Bathroom door warped grinding on floor when opening and closing. Only seating was the beds. Belongings remain in suit cases due small closet, small shelf, small cabinet and no drawers. 14 sq" frig, capacity even less. Hotel said all twin-queen rooms were the same so a room change wouldn't help. 2 restaurants closed (Mon-Wed) including their highlighted "LaTour." Add'l fee paid for 3rd guest but room was missing all 3rd-guest amenities....which later was provided stuffed in a draw string plastic bag. This room cost a mind-boggling $720 per night. Mgmt considered our room appraisal and reduced the price accordingly. read more

I'm one person who usually gives stellar ratings but this time I can't. I'm giving three stars because the place is charming. However, we arrived when it was pouring. We pulled under the overhang to empty our vehicle. Valet offered to take the car but never ever told us that there would be a $25 charge for valet parking!!!! $25?!? On top of it, they expect you to walk around with oodles of cash or use your debit card to pay for a room well over $1000 for one night to avoid a convenience credit card charge. So between the valet and the convenience charge we paid almost an additional $50. This is a large business. Why would you charge such a ridiculous fee?? Not everyone is rolling in the dough as we were there for a wedding. I would have appreciated valet having the courtesy to tell us how much it would be versus parking it on our own in the same garage. We did not even experience bellhop service and paid $25 plus tip for him to park it overnight where we could have taken it ourselves. What a sneaky upcharge. So beware. I decided to make a trip up north to celebrate my daughter's birthday at this resort. Read good reviews and saw beautiful pictures so I picked Crystal Springs Resort. When booking the weekend getaway, I selected the spa package to add a little extra to the birthday present. Sadly, we weren't informed the details of the spa package and ended up losing half the spa options due to us not knowing. As for the food, it wasn't special. We were charged about $80 for the continental breakfast every morning and the food was primarily cold so I was paying $80 to eat kids cereal and fruit. We made reservations for the restaurants but their vegan options are extremely limited to non existent. We ended up going off property to eat at local areas and fell in love with a few other spots (reviews for those soon to come). The bed was very hard but the housekeepers were so kind and did a great job in keeping the room nice and neat for our return. Sadly, they threw out leftover food we brought back from an off property location but that's ok. We blame ourselves for not labeling it somehow. The gym at the other location and the bungee class was the best thing at the resort. We laughed so hard during that class that I probably burned more calories from the constant laughing more than anything else. The instructor was so kind and helpful. The other students in the class were laughing with us. It was GREAT. We tried to do the Goat Yoga also; however, the temperature dropped from 70° one day to 40° the next resulting in the w es there to be too cold for my outdoor to be able to do that outside with the goats. Ultimately, this would've gotten a better rating if the pricing wasn't so high. It isn't a 5 star resort yet they claim it is. I have explored all level of resorts and this one is definitely not 5 star quality for that pricing. Would recommend others to research intensely before booking here. read more
