This school does a great job about covering all bases of academics but gears more towards math and science. If your child is more of an arts and literature student, this is not the school for them. That doesn't mean your child isn't smart or adequate enough for this school but why put them through the misery of attending a school where they don't enjoy learning? There are plenty of parents who have more than one child and may one have one or two enrolled at BASIS and the other(s) enrolled elsewhere. I love the LET teachers assigned in the lower levels, they really do a great job in assisting the kids in succeeding and the teachers and the deans are all great and caring towards the kids. This school is very anti-bullying which is another plus for this parent.

She has been given opportunities and been encouraged to think critically, to develop her own opinions of history, science and the world and to have meaningful discussions in her classes. The elective offerings are incredible and the teachers who teach them are top notch! My child was forging and welding BBQ tools in 7th grade! The choirs and bands are among the best in the region! Furthermore, I love that the teachers encourage their student to take responsibility for their academic success, they are expected to ask for homework in advance if they know they will be gone, or to make up homework in a timely manner, or to even set up tutoring sessions, NOT the parents. I so appreciate that MH teachers are not just focused on academics, but on helping students develop critical life skills and, above all, on helping them be confident, good humans.

They have many clubs and activities for students such as: Diversity in Action, Guitar Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, Video Club, Yearbook, Art Club and so on... In sports it seems like Mile High always wins! Wrestling, Boxing, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball. The electives students have include: technology, computers, art, life skills, P.E., and spanish. Mile High has history, it's the best middle school around.

my child was a kindergarten transfer earlier this school year and we absolutely love this school!…read morethey were one of the only schools i contacted to willingly and happily let us tour the school. the principal is so delightful and answered all the questions i had and made this transition feel a lot easier for me, she also greeted every child she saw on campus by first name which i loved. my main priority was making sure my sons IEP was followed and consistent throughout the school year and they have exceeded my expectations. we have meetings often, that not only our speech pathologist sit in on but also my child's teacher and principal. everyone is always on the same page and nothing is ever left out. i have seen an incredible improvement in my child's speech and they love Mrs. Glick so much! my childs teacher Mrs. Hammerstad is absolutely delightful and my son loves her so much! we were nervous transitioning into a bigger classroom than he is used to but she made him feel so welcomed. she has taken every express and concern i've ever had and handled it immediately and with grace. the level of communication i have with not only her but the school as a whole is really great! i also love how community and family involved the school feels, we have attended numerous celebrations, activities, and field trips. i truly believe they give not only the children a great experience but the families as well. i cannot wait to see what the future years bring and i'm so happy my son is apart of this school!
