I first signed a contract with this firm on October 25, 2023, and agreed to pay $3435 for a completely uncontested and ammical divorce, with all of the financials already agreed upon by myself and my ex spouse. All I wanted them to do was make sure the paperwork was filed correctly and in a timely manner. Things started out promising, with the divorce papers served by October 31st, but that's where things went really down hill. Over the next several months, they would go weeks without answering my emails, I was passed around to several different paralegals and lawyers without any sort of notice or explanation. There were several times when I had to follow-up with them several times just to get a simple question like "Hey, where are we in the process?" answered. They told me that there was a 6-month waiting period in California before a divorce could be finalized, and told me several times that it was on track to be finalized by the end of May 2024, but in June, I started getting responses like "There was a problem with our system, I'll look into this on Thursday" On June 19th, I finally got an answer from a partner that I had never worked with before, telling me that they filed my divorce "earlier this month" (It's telling that they never gave me dates for anything), and that it would take the court a while to get around to it. I then had to request the case number to track it myself, and I only knew to do that because I had a friend who works at a different family law firm (That I couldn't hire because they only work on highly contested cases for millionaire clients). All in all, my uncontested divorce was finalized on September 11, 2024, almost a year after I hired this firm to do something that should have taken 6 months. And why am I just now writing this review, 10 months later? Because I got a $950 bill out of the blue, because the billing department forgot to bill me for the remainder of my flat fee when the divorce was finalized. Every aspect of this law firm is a disorganized mess, and I do not recommend trying to work with them. I can't imagine how awful it would be with a complicated case. read more

I am a self-represented party in my divorce case. Because the matter involves myself and my children, I have been very proactive in preparing court materials and communicating directly with opposing counsel. Unfortunately, this attorney has almost never communicated with me directly--every single letter or response has come through her assistant. An occasional delegation I could understand, but every time is not professional. What was most concerning happened just yesterday outside the courtroom. Instead of keeping the discussion focused on the case, she looked at me and said: "As a mother myself, I don't think your child needs to see a therapist. I think you are the one who needs to see a therapist." For an attorney to speak this way to an unrepresented opposing party is not only disrespectful but also highly unprofessional. A lawyer's role should be to advocate and negotiate on the legal issues--not to make personal attacks.
