Our server today (Thurs., 4/16), Carolina, did an awesome job handling our party of 12 for this pre-cruise meet and greet. Having impressive portions and being budget friendly will always earn 4 stars in my book. Typical bar food. Lemon pepper wings were a lil overcooked/tough. No major complaints about any of the 6 burgers/cheeseburgers. The chicken Alfredo was not liked and sent back for a steak which was devoured. The fish portion was noteworthy. The tacos were given 2 thumbs up. The garlic parmesan wings received the best reviews from both people. Most people in our group agreed everything needed a lil more salt / seasoning. Finally, the cocktails were decent; the raspberry lemonade was a hit and the water cups were the largest cups we've ever seen in a restaurant. Within 2 minutes of me sitting down some wasted guy 7 seats away at the bar was yelling at me then was like "ooooooh we got a white girl" when I didn't respond. Sorry, I come from somewhere too polite to assume you were speaking (yelling) at me. Second, I am mixed races with family from Niger. Third, get a job. Wasted at 1pm on a Sunday. Ought to be ashamed of himself. I was a long time patron here but am never going back. They don't cut the drunk belligerents off. Legit neighborhood bar with a strong love for Florida State University and Green Bay Packers, which is evident by the overwhelming football team decor. Trivia Night was fun and our team won a plush gnome with a long gray beard in the raffle, but lost the contest. During trivia I ordered a cold Slackers Amber Ale, which had a decent light crispy taste. The chili was excellent with chunky meat and a medium spice level, and at only $6.99 for a massive bowl, it was surely the deal of the night. The chicken wings were extremely tiny, very similar to emaciated dove wings, kinda dry and at $14.00 this popular bar meal severely missed its mark, although the sweet & tangy side sauce was perfect. My good friends come here Saturday for trivia night and invited me and the hubby to join. Been here only two other times in the past but never for trivia. The host gave some really hard trivia questions and we got half right and won a raffle prize. The chicken wings need some work, let's just say they were strangely small and pricey. The first double Tito's and soda water was so weak I immediately ordered a second one and it was just as weak. On a better note, the chili was incredibly tasty. Not sure if it was homemade but it was a very large portion and only $7. Very disappointed in the wings and cocktail but the trivia was very fun while we watched college football. The hubby had a great Slackers amber craft beer so I think next trivia night I will stick to beer and chili instead of cocktails. We went to Slackers for the weekly Saturday night trivia. It was very loud and crowded with an adult coed softball team there celebrating their season. The service was slower than usual due to the large crowd. The waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently and apologized for the delay. The house salad and chili were OK. We stopped into Slackers last weekend about 11am, after a sweaty round of disc golf. Needless to say a cold beverage was in dire need. I met up with the other guys and we got spots at the bar. I asked my buddy if this had replaced a different spot that was here in this mall. I didn't recall it being fairly nice inside. He told me Slackers had been there for quite a while, but that they had done a remodel at some point. Anyhow, it was a good homey vibe. Solid bartender too. She was quick and friendly. My drink was good, food not so much. I got the French dip and the meat wasn't great and the au jus was extremely salty. I imagine if it was more diluted it would have been ok. I've been here a few times and this is now the second time they've messed up my order. The first time I just threw the food away and didn't complain, but this time was ridiculous. My receipt showed exactly what I ordered: medium well burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and fries. I also made it clear that I'm allergic to yellow cheese. When I got my food, it had yellow cheese anyway and none of the toppings I asked for. The entire order was wrong and the allergy note was ignored. That's not just disappointing, it's unsafe. Nice bar and grill in the shopping center right next to the Hampton Inn - walking distance. This was perfect for me as I had been traveling all day and it was great to be able to just walk over. The waitress was super nice and the ambiance was giving definite sports bar equipped with several TVs and ppl yelling at the screens. I order the Wisconsin burger which had sausages and bacon on it. I placed this order online today as I was craving wings, I've been trying serval places around the area for wings as my favorite spot is a bit far away. The wings were good! Some of the flats were a bit small but still juicy and crispy. The pepper rub was a little loose but I do have to say that it's the best I've had in a while it was not salty as most of the other places I've tried around the area and it was actually sour I would add a bit more lemon for a better consistency but over all I give a 4.5 out of 5 to this wings. We flew in a few hours ago and my husband suggested this restaurant as it was a brief walking distance from our hotel. This place DID NOT DISAPPOINT! One staff member (I'm assuming it was the manager) , politely asked my husband and I if we could locate to the table behind us bc a large party was coming in. We definitely do (no problem at all!), and the manager insisted we get a free appetizer or dessert bc of our troubles! I felt so badly taking him up on it bc heck, wouldn't you just move out of kindness? We ordered the Heather's quesadilla (blackened chicken!) and it was very tasty! My husband ordered a burger and I ordered the French dip. My praises go to the chef bc it came with the BEST au jus I've ever had in a restaurant! It was perfect in flavor, thickness, color. I had to get a lid for it to take the rest home! I opted for the mashed potatoes as a side (I'm not a huge fries fan) , and those were tasty as well. Back to the French dip - it had melted cheese, no fatty parts, and it was on garlic toast. I had to take half back to the hotel bc I was beyond stuffed to the gills. They even gave us to go cups if we wanted any extra drinks! Staff was great and the atmosphere was great too. Unbeknownst to us, we came onTrivia Night! Nice little sports bar tucked into a strip mall. In this occasion the property people had the front of the store torn up. The entrance wasn't much to look at but worth the try. The team here was great on a really slow day. They were very attentive and friendly. The bartender and owner went out of their way to put on our game. It was great to be able to have "our game" placed on the screen at our table. The inside of the bar is large and clean. It's very attractive with a million TV's to watch. The high top tables were reasonably comfortable. The men's restroom needed some help though. My house side salad was very large. The ingredients were fresh. It had a decent amount of side vegetables. Perhaps could have used more color and appeal. The salad was very good though! I ordered the 10 piece wings in Asían Sesame sauce. The wings were pretty good size for bone in wings. Stopped in at Slackers after a buddy of mine suggested it. I'm a HUGE fan of trying new places, especially when there are wings involved! We walked in to see about 15 Ft Lauderdale officers as they were doing a charity event for the special Olympics. Very cool slackers! Showing support for a great cause while collaborating with local law enforcement! We got the cheese curds first. (No pic, sorry) was about 12-14 fried cheese curds on a bed of lettuce. I get the use of the lettuce to make the plate look fuller, but it was unnecessary. Curds were solid. Wish they had a spicy ranch or remoulade instead of the sweet tomato sauce. I asked the waitress which wings she would suggest and she said the Carlos' way. Grilled hot honey bbq. Sounded awesome! Food came out within 5-10 mins but before i could eat, one of the waitresses ran up and said "whoa whoa whoa". Turns out they gave me the wrong wings. They made me flamethrower wings, their spiciest. I offered to eat them but she said no, and took them back. My suggestion in the future, just leave it on the table and offer to bring me the ones i want, or just comp the wings. Instead, i sat there while my buddy ate his burger and waited for my wings. He was basically done by the time mine came out which is the reason for the 4 stars. The Carlos ways wings were delicious(7.2 outta 10). Loved the char from the grill and the combination for flavors was realllllly good. Fries were a solid 8 too. Hot, crispy without being burnt. I think if you live within 5-10 mins from slackers or your packer fan, this place is a great spot to hit. Will I be back? Probably not, but that's only because of proximity. read more

Stopped into Slackers the other night (not a big game day) to check it out and see if it might be where we want to watch upcoming WI games. We took a seat at the bar and and took a look around. This place is a no frills sports bar . . .it reminded us of some of the "townie" bars that we visit in WI so I think they met their goal of making it seem a little bit like "home". Plenty of screens that you can see from every seat so watching your favorite game shouldn't be a problem. We asked how early we would have to get there to actually get a seat at the bar on a game day and the bartender suggested 1.5-2 hours before the game. Good to know as I hear it gets packed for game days. Our drinks were well poured and the bartender was quick with my friend's beer grabbed out of the ice cooler. We didn't order any food but the guy next to me had the most delicious looking burger that he devoured and the guy on the other side of me was picking up some of their "pot roast" to take home so I think the food must be okay. The thing I liked the best? How friendly the clientele was. We hadn't been in our seats more than a couple of minutes when the two guys on either side of us engaged us in some conversation and camaraderie. Definitely has a midwestern vibe going on. Nothing fancy, that's for sure. And right now the strip mall that Slackers is located in is undergoing some major renovations so follow your GPS and look for the Slackers banner flapping in the wind. I came in to watch the Ravens game before flying out after my cruise. I seated myself as the sign said to do. But then no way came to wait on me or provide a menu for 10 minutes or more. If I hadn't come for a purpose, I would have gone somewhere else. Finally my server came over and I ordered water with lime and the peel and eat shrimp to start. She brought the water immediately and the shrimp about 10 minutes later. However, she didn't bring any utensils or napkins and the shrimp were super messy. Finally I walked to the bar to grab a pile of cocktail napkins and finally my server came over and brought me actual utensils and a pile of extra napkins. Around halftime of the game I ordered a burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions and grilled peppers. The burger arrived with only grilled onions. I asked the kitchen staff where the other stuff was for my burger, and said sorry and took the burger away. The table one over from mine had the same problem. Your food is good but there seems to be a lot of miscommunication from staff and that's hard to believe based on the pocket computers used to take the orders. All in all, the food was good but you've got to communicate with each other. That is the reason for a non 5 star review. read more

Stayed across the street for a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale. Enjoyed a nice burger and fries. Good buffalo wings too, bonus deal deal on a red ale with the burger for the win. Service was attentive and friendly. It was a friendly and calm atmosphere as it was a late lunch. I bet with sports or at busier time would be a popular noisy sports bar. Very fun!
