Our first visit was amazing for so many reasons! First, Joe, our waiter, was fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and super easygoing, which made the experience even better. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the grilled artichoke, which I highly recommend. For our meals, we had the filet mignon and the ahi tuna salad, and both were excellent. Finally visited Kaluz for lunch. I enjoyed our stay here very much. I made the reservation so we were expected, and it was an early Sunday lunch ( noon) so if you came, they would have been able to sit you; however the hostess told us that their reservations were booked 2 weeks in advance for dinnertime: you have been warned! The restaurant has several areas with very nice modern decor, and a large bar are. Perfect for drinks and date time! We went to our booth for lunch and chitchat and just had one dish, no drinks. My friend ordered a chicken salad and I ordered the duck confit and both dishes were very nicely presented and tasted delish. They also brought bread for the table, but you have to ask for that. I noticed on the table next to ours one dish that turned out to be their signature flat bread, and vowed with my friend that next time we would order that! It looked and sounded amazing and was highly recommended by our waiter. We had a very good and relaxed time, great place to chat since the ambiance is not noisy but upscale, so we chatted uninterrupted to our heart's desire until it was time to go. First visit to Kaluz for an office lunch. The dining room is very modern and inviting. Our server, Nicholai, was very friendly and answered questions for the table. The lunch menu is pretty decent with several options at mixed price points to choose from. I was torn between the Thai Noodle Salad and the Fish sandwich. Unfortunately, I went with the latter. While the fish was fresh, it could've been bolstered with more flavor. It also was way too flaky, and the bun got soggy very fast. The sandwich fall apart after the first time picking it up. My coworker next to me got the Thai salad and it looked quite beautiful. He said it was delicious and fresh. If I come here again, I will definitely go with the salad. Some coworkers also got the brussels sprouts appetizer, but unfortunately it has bacon so I did not try a taste. I will say the shrimp escargot looked really good, and those who tried it, were really in love with it. I've never seen shrimp escargot on a menu, and I thought that was a pretty unique item. We all had a great time here I was here with friends and we all loved the restaurant and the atmosphere. We all met by the bar. I think we all ended up trying the lychee martini. "We were seated on time. Our waiter, Dylan or Dillon, was excellent. We narrowed our choices of wine bottles to two. He offered us a tasting and played a game with us regarding the wine. Date night, actually we decided to celebrate Valentine's 2 days early. It was a while we had driven past Kaluz and wondered. Well it was a lovely experience. The decor and ambience very upscale. Love the high ceilings and water features, open kitchen. We decided to have a selection of starters. The ones we loved most were the calamari and the octopus, but the tuna tartare was lovely too. We went to their Plantantion location and almost missed it because there is a tree that covers the restaurant's name. Plenty of onsite parking, very stylist modern atmosphere but made cozy with the touches of wood everywhere. Food was really tasty and was delivered promptly by a friendly server. Portion are nice sized so if you want, you could easily share a plate and order more appetizers. We had their caramelizes pear and prosciutto flatbread with a drizzle of vinegar reduction that was really good! We also tried the shrimp cargot that was amazing. Shrimp were a bit overcooked but super super delicious and full of flavor. The baguette with the havarti cheese and butter? YUM!! We split a chicken Caesar salad that was good. It has a great bar area with plenty of seating. The bar staff were all great and very attentive. They offer a nice selection of craft cocktails and other drinks. I started with a Lychee Martini. I loved it. It was perfect. My only disappointment was when I ordered a second drink and ask to upgrade the tequila on a margarita. They do not offer any clean, non preservative options. The first thing I noticed was there is not a lot of parking so you might have to valet. We got lucky and found a spot as someone was leaving. As soon as you walk in you are greeted and you can see the chefs cooking through the glass windows. We had reservations, so we sat quickly. Our waitress was nice and knew about the menu and how some food was prepared, which was helpful as someone in our party has a shellfish allergy and another has a Nutella allergy. The menu is not that big. We orders the steak meatballs, which was tasty as well as the calamari and the Brussel sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were so good! We then ordered lab burger, the ribs, and the porkchops. I asked for the apple cinnamon sauce on the porkchops to be put on the side and it wasn't. My Parmesan mashed potatoes were cold and I waited 20 minutes to get a proper knife to cut the pork chops. Our waitress wasn't as attentive once we received our food but it could have been because the restaurant was very busy. We then ordered the salted caramel brownie and the going bananas dessert and both were tasty. The going banana had the right amount flavor and we were able to taste the shaved coconut without it being overbearing. I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a fantastic dinner with excellent service and that's exactly what I received from our server, Ashley. We booked a late table after leaving a different restaurant and still received a well-paced dinner complete with a birthday wish and candle. The decor gives off a modern nature vibe, it's fun yet relaxing and there is enough space in between the tables to feel intimate. I enjoyed the hell out of my steak and my partner devoured his cod. After having a wonderful time and dinner on Thursday, I now have to write a poor review. I used my Amex to pay for my meal. Today I checked my charges on- line. Shortly after my luncheon, my card was used to purchase jewelry from Etsy.com without my permission. First, I do not wear or purchase jewelry, especially female jewelry. Second, according to Amex the charge was done within an hour of my departure. Third, the card is in my possession. Fourth, I have not used it since. I am extremely disappointed. Synopsis: overpriced, mediocre food hiding behind a beautifully designed restaurant and large portion sizes. This is a pretty big restaurant with a modern chic exterior and gorgeous interior. Plenty of seating, could easily have large parties here and they have a large bar. This is one of the most well decorated restaurants I've seen, lots of water features and dangling lights make it feel quite upscale and add a hint of intimacy. The staff was friendly enough. Very professional but definitely don't have that social, get to know you vibe. We ordered a steak and portobello mushroom flatbread for an appetizer. It was good, however the blue cheese wasn't the best choice of cheese for the flavors already on the flatbread. And that pretty much sums up every dish we had here. Great concepts of dishes but extremely poor execution. Lots of clashing flavors that just didn't mix well. Their portion sizes are quite large and feel like they try to make up for the poor flavor combinations with just giving you a large amount of food. We had the ribs and pork chops. Most everything was cooked well, which is hard with pork chops, but they came out very juicy, but that didn't save it from the awkward combination of flavors. We were really hoping to get dessert here cause the items looked delicious but ended up just taking the rest of our giant portions to go and skipping dessert. Oh, the cocktail my fiance had was very good. So, there's that. Overall, skip this. We spent 140$ after tip on a drink, app and two dinners and I could think of several other places we would have much rather have spent that money. read more

We sat at the bar and everyone was friendly and helpful. The decor inside was modern, clean, and dimly lit. We both had the fig old fashioned and loved the fig infused rye they used. We recently dined at Klaus restaurant and were seated quickly. Which was a great start. The space itself is absolutely beautiful. Very contemporary and thoughtfully design one that the highlights is being able to see the chefs in the kitchen cooking. That part of the experience really sets the tone and makes it feel special. Alex initially came to take our drink order. And shortly after Jennifer stepped in and took over our table. She was friendly and she took our order. She brought bread about 10 minutes later. Unfortunately after that, we didn't see her again. My grandson and I would have love to order dessert and I would have enjoyed another drink. But we never had the opportunity. We finally had to ask another waiter for our check and felt like our table was forgotten, which was disappointing given how promising the experience started. Really fun and classy environment with very good food - although not the very best food, it was good enough if your primary goal is to be with friends. In other words, you come here to be with your friends and not to find the best cuisine in south Florida. For example, my local fish was dry and the veggies were not crisp. But it wasn't bad. My wife and I went on a double date with some really good friends of ours, at the Kaluz in plantation, and this was our experience: The exterior and interior of the restaurant felt like I was dining in a Michelin-star restaurant. Very spacious, clean, and noteworthy for a nice date night. Fellas, this is the kind of restaurant where you can propose to your girlfriend. The food itself was delicious. We started out with sweet ginger calamari and spinach artichoke dip with chips. The calamari was to die for; it was crispy yet tender at the same time. Not sure how they did that, but wow! The ginger sauce on top gave it that extra flavor that put this appetizer over the top. The spinach dip with chips--man, the dip itself was so fresh, made in-house. It definitely wasn't something they kept in the freezer and thawed out for dinner time. And the chips had the right amount of salt--nothing overbearing, great taste and crunch. For the entrée, I had the Kaluz Danish ribs. You would have mistaken this place for a BBQ joint because they were perfect! The sauce was very sweet and tangy; the ribs themselves were fall-off-the-bone and cooked to perfection. I honestly couldn't finish the mashed potatoes on the side, which were great, and the truffle mac and cheese was okay. I'm honestly not a truffle kind of guy, but if you are, you will definitely like it. Very creamy, savory, and not dry at all. My wife had the Hatfield Farm pork chops, which were very well done according to her--not dry at all, very tender and full of flavor. The apple chutney definitely was a plus. Our friends had the same ribs and the cedar plank salmon. No complaints on either dish. To be very honest, these dishes were very appropriately served for the price. You are definitely getting your money's worth. As far as service goes, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, very patient with us, and so kind. Anytime we asked him a question, he responded with such kindness and decorum. Also, the staff as a whole was very nice; even if they were not our direct server, they checked on us from time to time. We felt very comfortable here. Overall: Kaluz restaurant is definitely a spot you want to consider for your date night. Make sure you make your reservations at least a day or two in advance.
