Classic Chicken Sandwich with friend and then an order of the chicken tenders with slaw. This place is amazing! One of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. Cooked to perfection and topped with the perfect amount of ingredients. Their house sauce beats the heck out of Raising Canes. Flavor profile in the chicken and juiciness was just blowing my mind! Ambiance is good! Little plants on the tables, nice and clean kitchen, plenty of seating and they absolutely kept it clean. Very happy I decided to try this place on a random Sunday! 3 stars for the staff being nice and because I'm sure this is up somebody's alley. But not mine. First of all, after reading a lot of the other reviews. I'm very surprised that anybody on the face of the planet could think there's not enough seasoning on the chicken. How much seasoning do you put on your chicken?!? Although it's quite possible that they read the reviews that said there was no flavor and then they went the other direction. 1. My chicken was very dark brown. Having worked in restaurants, that means 1 or 2 things. Either it was overcooked, or the oil hasn't been changed recently. 2. If you want a typical southern type chicken sandwich, ask for very little seasoning. And ask for their sauce on the side... there was waaay too much sauce on it. 3. Even the fries have a ton of seasoning on them. Literally everything just had the same flavor to me. 4. I also asked for coleslaw on the side, and they proceeded to put it on the sandwich. And on the side. Normally pretty forgivable, but with everything else, needs to be mentioned. Anyway... I picked the place based upon the reviews, and this is not the impression that I had of it. It's not a chain restaurant, so that was great... but I'm doing this review so that others know what they might be in for if they're looking for a plane, typical fried chicken sandwich. First time I felt disappointed in Slammin Chicken and they are my go-to favorite for the crispy chicken salad. The food was delicious as always, but the portion size was noticeably smaller than before. New sustainable packaging? I will think twice before ordering again. Giving two stars just because they tried to remedy the issue, but it still wasn't good. Firstly, when we entered there were only two other patrons. Three workers that we could see--2 cooks and 1 man for the register. We waited a good 5 min before we were even acknowledged. Finally ordered and the food took forever to arrive! Over 20 min...For fried food. While we waited I used the restroom. It was gross. I felt like I was using a gas station bathroom that hadn't been cleaned in a couple of weeks. Stains on the wall, odd sized toilet seat...onto the food which wasn't much better. The food finally came out and the fries were cold and tasted like when you try and microwave cold fries. Stale, dry inside, and cold. Worst fries I've had in a long time! And what is up with their Mac and cheese? Terrible! Maybe the Thai tea boba would be good. It came frozen like a slushy and tasted nothing like Thai tea. I've always had Thai tea come as a liquid not frozen, but the flavor was not it! My daughter's fish was greasy, and the breading on the chicken tenders was way too dark from over frying. The chicken on the inside was nice and moist. It was a very odd combination to have perfectly cooked chicken on the inside with an over cooked exterior. The initial taste wasn't awful, but the aftertaste was bitter like burnt breading. We asked for a new batch and it came out exactly the same. The manager? Owner? Asked if we wanted him to do anything about it. How about offering to refund for the burnt food or offering something instead of making the customer ask for something awkwardly to make it right. He was completely aloof about it like it was no big deal. Left with a continued bitter taste in my mouth both figuratively and literally. I feel like this place is only open still because there isn't much else around for fried chicken in the neighborhood. Do not recommend. read more

This place is great! We ordered the chicken and fries plate with a strawberry boba. Stay away from the strawberry boba!! It does NOT taste good. The strawberry boba tasted like the pink medicine you take for upset stomach--anyways I asked to get a replacement and I got the mango with boba instead. It was okay. The batter on the fish is a bit to heavy and retains to much oil for me and could use improvement. Fries are sub-par. Coleslaw is delicious. The Nashville chicken is my go-to, anywhere from mild to extra hot. Topped with that delicious coleslaw. Service here is typical and what you would expect. They wait on you and provide ok service. It is nothing to note. The space is mostly in cooler colors providing a cold (color), open dining area experience. During my visits the Slammin' is clean. There is plenty of parking here. read more

Super delicious fried chicken! Came here on a Saturday night after I was craving fried chicken. We ordered the chicken tenders with fries, onion rings, and Nashville hot chicken. We picked up our order and went back home and everything was still very crispy. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I wasn't sure if three chicken tenders would be enough but the guy who worked there said they were big. He was right, I could hardly finish my meal but I pushed through because it was SO GOOD . My husband said the Nashville hot chicken was not super hot but it was very flavorful. They also have really good homemade sauce. I enjoyed the house sauce the best. Seriously the food is absolutely bland. If you do not use the sauces you will notice the food has no flavor. That is a big sign of bad food from the get go. Places with horrendously low quality product use this method. The sauces are not very good either. I had the Nashville hot and it's nothing like a true Nashville hot flavoring it was was so foul I had to toss it right away. Second how do you screw yo French fries? Those French fries were the worst Iv had in years. The texture was so rubbery and flavorless. I question some of those positive reviews as they are very split. But from my personal experience it was just trash food. I won't be returning as I felt I wasted money. Trying newer places has been a complete let down. The quality has gone so far down across the board. If you do go here do me a good favor and try the chicken with zero sauce and tell me that's its not awful. Ordered takeout from Slammin Chicken this past weekend and was worried that it might not travel well as lots of food doesnt. 100% not an issue here and the two levels of spice we got were AMAZING (mild and spciy). The spicy was almost too spicy to be enjoyable but hadn't crossed the line. These massive pieces of chicken were perfectly breaded with a dry seasoning vs a sauce and I was blow away by the quality of chicken and the flavor. I am a huge fan of Kickin Chicken on union. I was excited when Slamming Chicken opened up in hopes that it would be a rival closer to my work. When I visited the staff was very kind and attentive, the menu looked good. I ordered and the wait time seemed longer than normal, but the food was hot and correct when it came out. The quality of the food was average. Nothing inspiring or unique that I found at Kickin. The sandwich toast was boring white bread and no real flavor. I could taste the cooking oil over the spices. Seems like a few corners have been cut in the quality of product served. I will add- that I ate here within the first month of opening. So they may be working on their process still, so will give them another chance. The Nashville chicken sandwich is a C- at best. Hope to see more... and I will try again after a couple more weeks.
