Ever since my favorite diners in Denver closed, I hadn't been to a classic diner atmosphere. I was so thrilled to try this breakfast diner, and we had incredible food. They are known for their hot cakes, which are pancakes. Made with buttermilk they have that slate tanginess that I really love in a pancake. Serve served with the soft butter and hot syrup, I was in heaven eating these pancakes. As if it wasn't perfect enough, I also ordered the enchilada skillet, which was a generous portion served in a cast-iron skillet with two small pieces of English muffin on the side. Food was delicious I had the skillet with potatoes, eggs, cheese, gravy, and sausage with happy little English muffins. Perfectly toasted. This is a very well known local breakfast spot I have not been to in years. I'm not sure why as it's very near to my house. There is plenty of parking and the building is clean and well maintained. The service was fantastic and Yoana went out her way to make us feel welcome. She was always smiling and did a wonderful job. Our food came out within ten minutes and it was, fresh and well prepared. My custom ordered omelette was made just as I requested. I like the family feel and the ode to the Broncos. It's a very light hearted place with great food. Never have I ever sent back a dish and I had to do it twice. My first dish was the "Favorites" eggs Benedict but it was far from mine. it was way too salty and butter fat was separating from the hollandaise sauces and paired with the ham I couldn't bear to handle all the sodium. Do better on the hollandaise sauces. It didn't take a Gordon Ramsey to know that the dish was unappetizing. After voicing my complaints they got me another dish and I just went with the basic breakfast and although the potatoes and bacon was good how can you mess up the eggs? I ordered over medium and the whites should have been fully cooked through and a little slimy in the middle but they weren't. The server took off my meals and charged me for my girlfriend's basic breakfast and both coffees. That came out to $21.47 before tip! For a diner that is outrageous. They catered to the older demographics. I was really wanting this place to be good since I'm in walking distance but I probably won't be going back. read more

There is a lot of change in the world, so it's wonderful to go to a place where the quality of your meal has not changed. The hollandaise sauce is such a great addition to any dish. The staff is efficient and thrives on busy mornings so don't let the parking lot intimidate you. The coffee is great. The Benedict's are great. We've eaten here twice in the past week, and both times it was a 5 star experience. This is a nice, cozy, breakfast spot. The kitchen puts out wonderful, perfectly cooked comfort food. I had the pancake "2+2+2" dish, which is pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Both times, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted like homemade, especially the pancakes. Also, I got blueberry pancakes, and they used real blueberries (not the little frozen ones). The service is attentive and prompt. Fabulous option for breakfast. Great service and good food. We were here on a Monday morning around 9, so there was no wait and plenty of tables. We ordered a couple of breakfast skillets. And, boy, do they know how to do a skillet right!! I ordered a half portion Vegetarian Sunshine (tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, and peas). My husband ordered a Regular size Sunshine (includes ham, plus the other items) and it was very heavy that he couldn't finish it. The main difference between the half portion and regular is 1 egg versus two and slightly smaller portion overall. The eggs were perfectly basted with the yolk runny. Amazing hollandaise, I had a Colorado Omelette (Benedict Style). A must try with excellent service.

It's a quaint old school diner with some very decorative booths, at least the one we sat in was visually delicious. My wife and I stopped in for a simple small breakfast before church and we were seated promptly and had friendly service. We opted to share a meal due to a lack of overall hunger and we chose a breakfast classic the 2x2x2. 2 cakes, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of bacon for $9.99. The waiter asked if we wanted french toast or pancakes on our order, which came as a surprise option to us so we opted for the french toast. I personally love french toast and love trying it at the breakfast establishments I visit. The food came out in good time and was good, the bacon was too crispy for my wife's liking but I enjoyed it thoroughly. The French toast was an interesting shape but that had no affect on the flavor. The eggs were middle of the road but not underwhelming for what we expected. My wife said the coffee was not that good and thus didn't drink more than a few sips. My issue with our experience came with the delivery of the check. I need to qualify my following statement by saying I did not bring this up in the moment as it ultimately only a few dollars and we didn't have time to stay and hash it out. I was confused when I saw our bill was $17 when all we ordered was a single, relatively small meal, and a single order of coffee. Looking back at the menu and comparing it to our check I noticed a discrepancy. The meal on the menu is listed as $9.99 but the meal on our check was listed as $13 with no notation of an up charge for sharing the meal or for a french toast substitution. Those were my first two assumptions of why it would be more, which are normal practice in plenty of places, however, my issue arises with the fact that we were not informed of a potential up charge either for having french toast subbed on this meal or for sharing. I am perfectly fine with charges like this, my issue always is with management of expectations in the form of transparency about additional charges for certain things. Our experience was overall good and the food was good. I believe in trying places more than once to build a better understanding of how good they actually are or aren't. I would come back for a full regular breakfast to try one of their many good sounding options on their menu. Definitely worth checking out for yourself and making your own determination. read more

I met my family here for a late breakfast. We all ordered a different plate and the frittata was by far the best. Although the food arrived hot, my Sunrise special was ordinary and the chicken fried steak was bland. The saving grace was the fantastic staff. They have redone this restaurant and it looks very nice. My husband thinks they have the best pancakes in town. The cinnamon roll is also very good. I haven't found anything there that I like. My family and I came here on a breakfast binge. We decided to try something different as ihop has started to take its toll. My parents ordered the country fried steak and a plate that brought the usual breakfast items. My wife ordered pancakes with scrambled eggs and I ordered the 2x2x2. One thing I want to get out of the way before the review is that it really sucks that they don't have hash browns. If they had some with the potato they have, then I definitely believe they have a star in their menu. Now onto the the food! The country fried steak was pretty nice. Crispy and juicy with an interesting taste from the gravy. Potatoes were nice crispy. They were juicy as I bit into one, which was honesty surprising and refreshing! My wife personally loved the English muffin with their amazing jelly. The eggs were amazing. I always have trouble when it comes to eggs being made as each spot seems to mess them up some how. Too rubbery or overcooked. But this spot, absolutely nailed it on the head. They were perfectly cooked, melted in my mouth and had a delicious taste. Ketchup, at least for me, gave it an amazing combination! Now the star of this review is the pancakes. These buttermilk pancakes are,by far, one of the best pancakes I have ever tried. They were soft, hot and and amazing in taste. The syrup came out hot as well, which gave it the home feeling I love! If you plan on coming and buying anything, then get the pancakes!
