This one star is only there because of April. The sweet lady at the front. After three weeks almost four before I had to put an end to it. 4 weeks to wire a PIMP harness and run a map sensor and AC line. I did not ask them to do anything else. With ZERO communication besides the poor mechanic that does not know what he is doing telling me "Just because its new don't mean it works"....This was my 3rd Brand new TPS sensor, to Barbaras brilliant "nothing in a car is guaranteed" ...but mam if its isnt going to work why not tell me that...Ive never truly been in shock out of the ten cars Ive completed in 7 years like this. $1450 and Im having to have the car towed out, heres the best part. The power steering pump is now blown and the map sensor isn't even wired right. Not to mention the A/C line never got ran.‍It is my fault for not listening to others in the community but I wanted to give a local small shop a chance. Im off to Chris Car Doc where I should have paid to have it done right the first time. They need someone to run the business that knows what the hell is going on. It was cringe worthy the whole time I was there. I had to leave. If the tps is showing fuel wide open then the tps is bad, why would you not stop there. Call the customer and order a new one. Had my wife to take her car for a wheel alignment and they told her she needed struts at a cost of $2000., but if I found a lower price let them know. Needles to say I had her take it to another shop and informed them of my auto repair knowledge. Drive out cost $500. Did not need struts just elliptical bolts. So what was their estimate all about? If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is a joke. I have brought 2 vehicles here for service. 1 for a simple bolt on exhaust and welded tips in may. I noticed a missing tip on exhaust and looked under car to see why a welded til had failed! 2 small tack spots was all they put in the tips. Decided to check rest of there work. The exhaust is all loose under car. $250 for this kind of work on something simple! I'll never bring anything there again. The other car they tried to charge me $3500 for headers and intake. I bought the parts myself and they quoted $900 but when I went to pick up car it was $1500, because they needed misc parts that they didn't get permission to replace. Worst mistake ever going to this shop. Not sure where to start so many problems have come from taking my vehicle here. I brought my truck in to get some leaks fixed in rear end and manifold and to get a computer relocated. 5 1/2 months later I have this huge bill (not the price i was quoted) but no longer had My Custom Rear end that was a posi. Gear ratio changed and 2 days after picking up my truck all my transmission fluid leaked out the rear main seal. The Transmission was burned up. I had to take the truck to another shop to get it rebuilt. Look at the picture below one more problem which was found from the bad work from slater auto works. I never had any transmission problem until I got my truck back from slater. Worst customer Service Ever no communication at all. I lost my custom rear end as well. It is still at Texas Auto Gear. I was charged for things I didn't ask for. If you want good Quality Honest Work Stay away From Slater. I honestly don't mind paying for great work but that's not what you will get at Slater. Maybe in the past he had a great reputation but This is Current day Experience. Beware too many problems have come from some simple leaks. So much Hard Earned Money Wasted for selecting a bad Shop. Truck is in the Shop again Getting the Universal Joint replaced and the rear main seals replaced. Thanks for Nothing but Problems Slater. Highly Recommend everyone to stay away from SLATER AUTO WORKS. Not sure how he stays in business ripping people off like this. read more

Worst shop to go to. Took my mustang gt there. Was told they specialize in mustangs. Had an agreed price to swap a motor. Called to check on it every other week. Everything seemed fine until I called the last time to come get it. Was told it's ready. Asked what the bill looked like and it was double what we discussed they replaced almost everything on the front end. Rack and pinion clutch radiator. Said they did power steering. I told them to sit tight I'll be there in a few. I went up there and these assholes tried to tell me they were doing the right thing by fixing everything. Tried to make me out to be the bad guy cause I was upset. Never got one phone call and asked me if I would like these items replaced. Not only that the items were not all installed but I was being billed for them. Needless to say I paid for what was done. But wait it gets better. Drove the car home. Then started finding bolts missing , wiring harness for motor was routed wrong alternator harness was not plugged in properly ( he told me my battery was toast and he put a new one in). Multiple vacuum hoses were not on tight had a major vacuum leak. 2nd day my heater core hose blew off the back of the intake manifold only to find out it was a General Motors hose and way to big. Almost cost me a new motor. With the help of YouTube I have put the car back together now exactly like it's supposed to. Pretty sad an average joe watching you tube is better than these hack jobs read more

I have been using Slater's for my auto repairs for over 20 years now, and you will be hard-pressed to find another shop that is as honest as these folks are. If Slater says it is broken, you can have confidence that he knows what he is talking about and the part actually needs replacement. Are they the cheapest shop in town? No, but they are also not the most expensive either. I believe you get what you pay for, and expertise does not come cheap these days. I highly recommend checking this shop out. These guys are the real deal. Honest to the core, and they truely are there for their customers. Not too pricey, and fast workers. Any time I have had a Minor bug somewhere under the hood, they would take my car and after a fine inspection, always get to the root of the true problem. Took my Jeep in, they replaced lower control arm and steering stabilizer. Right after, I heard a popping noise when turning the wheel that I could actually feel in the floorboards. Took the Jeep back and let them know. They kept it three days, called me to say I could pic it up because they found nothing wrong with it. Drove it that way while the popping noise got louder and louder. Took it to another garage. Turns out they never tighted the bolt down on the driver's side of the steering stabilizer. The popping was that bolt being chewed up until no more threads show. Had to replace the stabilizer, new mechanic gave me the old one to show me the error. Now I would not be hard on them for MAKING an error, they happen. But when a customer brings their vehicle back to you complaining about a noise they hear that they never heard before, wouldn't it make sense to check the part you just installed? read more
