Yes automotive should be called heck no automotive this place is a scam waiting for you to come in! You go for an alignment and they're going to tell you that there is something wrong with the front end so they can fix it before the alignment. They couldn't align my car but refused to refund my money instead offered me a free oil change! Which was a horrible mistake they use the cheapest oil you can find! It's clear as water had it in my car for a week and needed to go to a real shop to get real oil! Run as fast as you can away from them! For alignment go to Beasley tire shop further down 494 they're honest and can be trusted don't waste time and yes automotive , forgot to say after wasting a $1,000 dollars at yes automotive I still had to go to a real shop to get what they did done wrong fixed! Save your self I hope I save you the trouble I had! I had to come back because they say they use synthetic oil that's a lie they change my oil and if I hadn't taken it to the dealer I would have had to replace my motor after 2 days the motor started tapping and I took it to a real shop I would have had to replace my engine you know if it sounds to good to be true it is! I took my ford explorer sports trek there for transmission repair after hurricane Harvey , They quoted me almost $4,000. which is waaaay too much! So I told them to wait to do any thing to it . They never even touched my vehicle except to Steal all my tools and my spare tire and floor jack , plus my spare wheel and tire that matched my others , by the time i got my truck back . it was completely destroyed . door handle was broke , my windows were broke , scratches all over my truck ! and they charged almost $300 just to get it back . even though they never even evaluated or inspected it .... They have a bilateral computer reader if you need that done, no charge for testing. They were able to figure out what was wrong with my car and they were upfront and honest about cost. The cost did go up a bit because the part needed is a dealer part. It will be here in two days. I was able to finance the bill and the payments are very reasonable ! Had my transmission rebuilt here in 2021 and a shifter cable replaced in 2023. Both times, Max and Hayden did a really good job explaining the whole process to me and had a quick turnaround time. For the rebuild, my car had broken down after Christmas, and they quickly fixed it and had me driving again by New Years. They even stayed 40 minutes after closing so I could pick up my car. These guys rebuilt my son's transmission in April, 2019. We had the car back in the shop three times for various leaks, etc. Last night he was stranded, so we had the car towed back. Just received a call from the shop telling us the work is out of warranty, and it will be $895 for labor to check it again. Oh, but they'll do us a favor and knock off 20% on parts for the latest repair. Anyone see what I'm seeing? Had the work been done correctly, the car would still be drivable. read more

Absolutely Disappointed with the repair work. I was in and out of the shop for 4 months, spent over $4,000 and when I got the car back, it drives WORSE than it did when I brought it in. They convinced me to buy a new transmission, and the end result is that it may not have needed a new transmission after all. There's an issue with the power to the transmission. Had high expectations for the price paid on a rebuild, would not recommend. Not sure of the quality of the work, but the management didnt seem to click here. Our initial timeline for a rebuild was extended twice (took 3x as long as told) and nothing was done for us given their shortcomings. We asked that they return the old parts and that also didnt happen (due to miscommunication by the management). As a second time customer we can say this is our last time visiting My Transmission Experts, which is sad because the staff are nice guys. Hopefully the quality of the job at the price is good, but everything else about the rebuild was unpleasant. In short: Dont expect their promises to be held up, Dont use if youre on a budget, and Dont use if on a tight schedule. read more

Last fall (2019) my Ford Escape's transmission failed and I had it towed to My Transmission Experts in Porter. I was quoted a price of a little over $4,000 to repair it. My car was in the shop for over FIVE weeks. They paid a week or two of my rental car costs but I still ended up paying about a thousand for car rental while my car was in their shop awaiting repair. At first I was told my transmission would be repaired, next I was told there was a delay because the new transmission they installed was not working. I think they had 2 rebuilt transmissions fail before they installed one that worked. Mind you, this is not a unusual foreign car I brought in, it's a run-of-the-mill Ford. When I finally got my car back, a month and 11 days later, as soon as I drove it off the lot it started making awful screeching noises - turns out they had bent a brake caliper or something and it needed to be banged out - so they obviously didn't test drive the vehicle (the need to test drive the vehicle was the excuse given me for why it wasn't ready the day before, when they had promised it in one of their earlier lies). I also noticed part of the driver side door handle was missing when I got the car back, and there were a few new electronic issues. I had over a month of excuses and inconsistent stories. In the end they asked me not to do what I'm doing now, tell the world how I was treated. I told them that because of my experience with them I would have to sell the car immediately, because the only warranty they gave me was a shop warranty, and there was no way in hell I would bring that car back to them and wait God knows how long for them to repair it again. I did sell the car right afterward, because I had no faith at all in their word or their work. Do yourself a favor - avoid this shop. read more

Car repairs are never a good thing, especially when dealing with a repair as complicated and expensive as a transmission. That being said, I feel I must comment on the excellent repair job I got on my transmission from My Transmission Experts located at 24608 Loop 494 in Porter, Texas, just north of Kingwood. My car, a 1984 Buick LeSabre, lost its transmission on my way to work. After calling around, I talked to Red Redmond at My Transmission Experts who assured me that my transmission was probably fixable, in spite of what other shops had told me. Red sent a tow truck to my house within two hours of my phone call and towed it to his shop's location. the next day, he called me with an update of what possible causes had been eliminated. The day after that, they had the transmission open and found exactly what had been going on. At this point, I should add that Red's staff had determined the real issues by actual examination and not by guessing as other places had begun doing. Next up, came the actual repair. The most difficult task faced by Red's crew was locating parts since it was a 32-year-old vehicle. But locate them they did. And once the repairs were done and my transmission was reinstalled, Red's staff road tested it under a variety of conditions to make sure there wouldn't be any surprises. Red even told me to bring it back in 10 days for a follow-up check. All through the process, I heard from Red on a daily basis with updates as to exactly where they were in the repair process. And being someone with limited financial resources, I should add that My Transmission Experts also arranged financing so that i could afford to get it fixed. So,I can truthfully say that Red and the staff at My Transmission Experts Porter location made a potentially horrible experience a very painless experience. I highly recommend them to anyone with transmission woes. read more

had my vehicle towed there for a "free" estimate. 2 days later, "inspection inconclusive, for $350 we can look inside for a comprehensive estimate." I said okay, 3 days later a $3200.00 estimate was rendered. I said no, give me back my car, they said "not until you pay the $350.00" They basically ransomed my car by suckering me in for the "FREE" estimate. Paid under duress, took the car to ACE TRANSMISSIONS, and had it repaired in 2 days for a third of the "Experts" estimate. read more
