Well, today I didn't know I would end up here, until my car brakes didn't work all of a sudden. However, I'm so very thankful that I did! Jim (I think it was - I'm bad with remembering names) was very nice and approachable and treated my car issue like an emergency, halting one project to figure out my car issue. They tested it and found out it was a loose nut and the brake fluid was leaking so fast that I didn't have any left by the time I got to Aamco. I appreciate them so much and how fast they were able to diagnose it. I came in scared with barely any breaks and left within 45 minutes with good brakes again. I will definitely keep them in mind for when I have another issue with my car! Definitely honest and good people are working there! If you are African American don't waste your time coming into this establishment! It's extremely unfortunate how my husband was treated and spoken to. First entering the establishment he was not acknowledged until 15 minutes into waiting. They held my car 2 weeks and did absolutely nothing trying to get the max out of the warranty instead of working. He also stated he hated to see "you people" coming! Great experience! They did a full transmission re-build for my 2012 V. Jetta for fair market price and a solid extended warranty. They kept me updated throughout the entire process, broke down part costs, labor etc. Everything was very transparent and I also had additional work done while the transmission was out to save labor cost down the road. They genuinely seemed to care about their clientele and had me come in for a 2 week inspection to check for any leaks free of charge. Would highly recommend! read more

I personally wouldn't recommend coming here. I feel like Larry was very deceitful. He quoted me one price and completely changed it up once he knew I wasn't getting my car fixed with him. I also think he is rude. I would recommend getting whatever he quotes you in writing before you have any work done. He kept adding stuff to the total. The other mechanic I went to had a straight price from the beginning and was upfront about it. Larry tried to make it seem as he was doing me a favor as if I'm not paying. This other guy actually did me favors. Went and picked my car up no extra charge. And quoted me price from jump. Price was 2500 less than Larry. Although to be honest other guy had so much business it took 9 days to get car back. So u choose more money rude guy or honest and more time.to be clear I'm not an advertising person for other guy just stating facts. I've never done business with these people, but I would never do business with them anyways after the way that they treated me on the phone when I asked them for a quote on a rebuilt transmission, they talk to me like I was stupid for five minutes before I hung up. Basically telling me there's no such thing as a full rebuild on a transmission and that they can't quote me a price because they don't do full rebuild. I've called 20+ transmission shops, and each one was able to give me a legitimate quote Giving me ranges of how low and how high the price could be at the end result of the rebuild. These guys failed to do that. And on top of that were the rudest people I've ever talk to on the phone. I had my entire transmission rebuilt at Highway six transmissions for $1400, it drives like brand new and has a 25,000 mile transmission warranty. read more

Worst place I've ever been to for any type of service. The original date they gave me for finishing repair on my car was 11/15. I didn't get my car back until 12/9. They said diagnosis was free but ended up charging me $680 for the diagnosis alone. When I finally managed to pick up my car they didn't give me an invoice or a receipt!! No warranty papers or anything. Meanwhile they soaked my wallet for $4,200 with no explanation besides transmission. Two days after I picked my car up my car started leaking brwak fluid out of the master cylinder. Now I have a separate issue probably caused by this shit shop. Horrible communication, horrible service, horrible everything. Avoid at all costs unless you're willing to pay 3x the price for your repair and have a month to spare on car repairs. If I could give zero stars I definitely would. I brought my truck in to have my transmission looked at because the torque converter was making noise and seemed to be going out but I couldn't figure out what it was that caused it to go out, assumed it was a solenoid or something. Anyways I left it with the manager, Larry and he called me later in the day telling me the tehcm was faulty causing the torque converter to not get fluid also that the transmission was getting hot. While this makes perfect sense and I do believe this may be an accurate diagnosis, that was not the issue I had. The issue was the ridiculous quote of upwards of $5000 I got for repair. I can put a brand new transmission in my truck for that price! He told me that the tehcm alone was a $2000 part which is completely false information, it's around the $500 range and proceeded to tell me that that I would still be charged the $489 dollar fee to diagnose, pull it apart ect ect. Even if I chose to use them for the repair while most shop waive that fee if you go forward with them for the repair. Was wanting to charge me almost $2000 for labor and so on and so forth. He treated me as if I had no knowledge on vehicle repair even though I made it very clear from the day I dropped my truck off that I knew the initial problem and I was not some idiot that can be ripped off because I've been around mechanic shops my entire life and work on my own vehicle often. After I told him to just put it back together and I'd fix it elsewhere his attitude with me changed entirely and he went on to be rude, short with me, ect. When I came in to pay the $489. I definitely do not recommend using this location. I'm not sure if every manager of aamco is as unprofessional as the one this location has but he will try and charge you far more than the actual cost of repair and treat you as someone who has no knowledge of vehicle repair, so on and so forth. I had another transmission shop who gave me a more accurate quote come pick up the truck this morning and I'll post an updated review once I find out if any additional damage was done to my transmission out of spite because it honestly wouldn't surprise me. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from AAMCO humble location. (UPDATE) Just left the shop where my transmission is being serviced now and it is now slipping gears which it never did before bringing it to AAMCO. Also upon personally watching them drain my transmission I saw completely burnt fluid come out of my transmission despite being charged the $489 which covers new fluid, O-rings ect. And I changed my fluid and filter right before bringing it to aamco in attempt to fix the problem before taking it to the shop so they apparently put some old transmission fluid they had in my transmission instead of putting the new fluid I PAID FOR!!! I'm beyond livid and will be contacting somebody higher up because I will be getting my money back, this is ridiculous. This is the most unprofessional shop I've ever dealt with and hope that people will see this review and take it from me to stay away from aamco and especially the manager Larry. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE FOR ANY REASON, YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF, TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND LIED TO!!! read more

I took my wife's car and I ask for an estimate and the salesman Larry kept my wife's car for nearly two weeks and he gave an estimate of $5,700.00 and I said it was to high and he was directing me to put it in their credit card they offer, and I told him I was going to pick it up, and he charged me almost $800.00, I took the car to another shop and they installed a brand new 0 miles transmission for less than half the money he was trying to charge me, I don't recommend AAMCO and the salesmen working there because they are trained to rip you off. read more

My husband and I were hesitant to take our Jeep Wrangler (TJ) anywhere after having a horrible and expensive experience at another shop down the road, however we chose AAMCO to (re)repair a rear main seal leak and are extremely pleased with the work. The owner and the gentleman who completed the work (Larry) were both knowledgable and comfortable with what we needed done, listened to our concerns, and didn't try to upsell anything. Larry did identify another problem we didn't know about (throw out bearing was severely damaged) and saved us tons of money by fixing it at the same time as the seal, opposed to having to come back and pay for all that labor. The work was done very quickly, they communicated throughout the whole process, used dealer parts, and gave us a fair price. We will be back again. read more

A week or so after having the radiator replaced, the car began making a rechid screeching noise. Due to the hours of the shop, I couldn't make it back in for a few weeks. The mechanic on duty looked at it, but seemed to be more put off when he realized I wasn't going to be paying for a service. He claimed to have tightened the belt but the car began to screech again the very same evening. We paid around $800 for a radiator replacement and left with more than we bargained for. These people are the worst starting with Greg the service manager. My car has been there almost 2 weeks now and he still can't tell me what is wrong with it. We have a full warranty through aamco for our transmission and he has been given permission to do whatever he needed by the Aamco owner that we purchased the transmission through and yet Greg still doesn't even have a list of all that is wrong with my car. Greg doesn't return phone calls or do anything he says he is going to do it is one excuse after another. I will not be back just hoping to actually get my car back in working order soon. The Aamco in Walnut Creek, CA was the best you will never meet a nicer owner and so I am very disappointed in these guys at this location. read more

I had my transmission rebuilt at another AAMCO further down 1960 which closed down. My wife carried my 1998 Chevy Silverado in for the annual service for the lifetime waranty. They also changed the rear transaxle fluid. She was treated very well and the work was performed correctly. The only negative is the parking lot is now, and has been for a long time, filled with cars and boats. This is not very professional and the reason we passed this AAMCO up to have the work done at the other AAMCO further down 1960. read more

I am happy to have found Jay and his AAMCO station on FM 1960 in Humble. I have taken 3 of my vehicles for repair in the past 2 months, all are high mileage and in need of work. Jay took the time to explain patiently what each vehicle needed and did not push unnecessary repairs. I don't understand a lot about cars or repairs but was reassured by out-of-town family mechanics that every repair was warranted and fees were on target. I trust Jay and I'm pleased with the quality service received on each vehicle. I will use Jay's Humble AAMCO again because my old cars and trucks always need repairs and I know I will received quality & courteous service at his location. I took my car to this repair center and found them the most helpful. The manager Paul is very nice and did not talk down to me. I also had a chance to talk to the owner, Jay.
