Modest lot but a good selection of fresh Christmas trees from 5' and up. Yes, the bike shop sells…read moreChristmas trees! They made a fresh cut on the bottom to help with water uptake and loaded the tree into the car for us. Years ago we also bought a stand from them; instead of the usual pins, it has a single post in the middle of the well. Since their trees have holes drilled in the bottom, you just place the tree onto the post and you're done! It's so much easier than trying to twist the pins to hold the tree in place. Highly recommend the stand. They're also offering a special coupon for $20 off at Root'd across the street with a tree purchase!

Service meets expertise!…read more I'm a mountain biker that just got into road biking - I walked in here with about 2 dozen questions and in need of lots of help (and honestly lots of hand holding!); Cottonwood Cyclery absolutely exceeded my expectations. The lady that helped me fully dedicated over 20 minutes to walking around the shop helping me make a list of all the equipment, clothing, tools, and supplies I'll need for my newly purchased road bike. She also spoke with me at length about cleaning and riding techniques, as well as tips and tricks from her own cycling experience. She was also able to recommend a third party to properly fit my bike to me, which she uses herself. I didn't look around at the new bikes too much, but I did notice they had a selection of mountain bikes, e-bikes, and road bikes. They've got tools, bags, shoes, cleaners and lubricants, CO2 tire inflators, tubes, and everything else you'd ever need. They were out of a few clothing items due to shortages from high demand during COVID, but they were still able to provide recommendations about what to look for. That undivided attention was so valuable and helpful - I couldn't have asked for anything more than the experience I had here. This isn't the closest bike shop to me, but it is 100% worth the drive. AND I'd like to mention they are open an hour later than most other bike shops, which is so appreciated and convenient when I rushing to get some shopping done after my work day. I will undoubtedly be back for equipment, advice, and maybe a little moral support! Thank you, CC!

I had the pleasure of meeting several lovely four legged hikers and their people, as well as two horses and a set of miniature ponies. Yup, all in one evening hike. It was magical. The trail is relatively flat with a few hills sprinkled throughout, but nothing outrageous or difficult. Much of the trail is covered in bark-in some areas it's fairly deep-which mimics walking in sand on the beach. A bit more strenuous than a flat dirt surface. At the beginning of the trail you'll find plenty of parking and a sitting area. I don't believe I did the full trail; only a couple miles of it. But what I did see was very nice. Happy hiking, friends!

Dimple Dell Regional Park is a vast 630 acres of natural area that runs from East to West in Sandy…read more The park includes more than 15 miles of trails for hikers, bicyclists and horseback riders. Dogs are allowed if kept on a leash. This trail merges into Sunrise Point Trail if you want to extend your hike to the North side of the gully parking lot. Lots of birds today. Hardly any people when I started out. When I headed back down to my car, the parking lot was full. Up on top of the trail, you will find a small bench with a fantastic view of the valley. I highly recommend coming up at dusk to see one of our spectacular sunsets. 2.6 miles round trip with only an elevation gain of 243 feet. This trail is close to Bell's Canyon if you cross Dimple Dell Road for a more moderate hike. This one is long enough, and short enough just to get you movin'. Several other trails in the area to merge into if you want to get your steps in, but you will be walking on bark, which is not my favorite type of hike.

Our experience was amazing - an incredible river and geology, sandy beach campsites, delicious and plentiful freshly prepared food, interesting and skilled guides navigating the river and its rapids, two side hikes to unique locations... We spent time in the oar rafts and in the inflatable kayak "duckies" on the river, and spent time at camp swimming, talking, eating. playing bocce and volleyball, and stargazing under a new moon with another guide (Tom) who brought a telescope and told us stories of the constellations as he showed us how to find them and brought up other unique views on the telescope. Of course, this is an off-the-grid experience so there were no distractions from cell phones (no signal), we slept in tents, and we all had to use a box toilet to be packed out by the guides each morning as we got back in the rafts. Maybe that's not something everybody's comfortable with, but it's an amazing trip in an awe-inspiring location.
