Room was dusty - see attached photos - especially in the corners and around the bed. I had breathing problems just being in this dusty room. 2. At night staff kept talking in a full voice, rolling metal carts all around and slamming doors and cabinet doors whole night. I had to ask them to stop and they said they can't. No effort to keep things quiet, which disrupted my sleep unnecessarily. 3. Restroom is on the other side of the building and if you have to use it at night - you're walking with all lights fully on! They do not dim the hallway lights at night which will wake you up. Lights should be dimmed or use red light.

In the middle night I became unable to breathe and my blood pressure shot up. I requested a CPAP machine which Mae refuse because she said I didn't "qualify". What do I have to do? die on the bed to receive help? I immediately started pulling the sensors out and Mae screamed "do not break them as they are expensive" I responded saying lady my life is expensive and ran over here to emergency at St John's where they documented my blood pressure at 214/114 from where I'm writing this.

The lady was very nice who did the study, BUT, she insisted that I do at least part of the study sleeping on my back. Due to psoriatic arthritis pain, I NEVER sleep on my back and I know that when I do, I snore like crazy. So I told her I didn't want to sleep on my back, because I never do...that would be false information for the test. She insisted. Sure enough, my doctor gets my test results and it says that I had sleep apnea 72 times in the night and they recommended I use a CPAP machine. I told my doctor this and he reads further and the results say that my oxygen level never dropped which is highly unusual if you have sleep apnea. So he's going to send me to a respiratory specialist to confirm. Then all of a sudden, this CPAP provider calls me and tells me my CPAP machine is ready to be picked up. I explain what happened and ask who ordered it and they said that Sunset Sleep ordered it! Now I have to assume that they're getting some kind of kickbacks for diagnosing people with sleep apnea and making them get CPAP machines. This is definitely a scam place.

Explaining what we were doing & had me view a short video. From that study I learned that I still have mild Apnea. A test in 2009 where I used to live had the same result only that study was followed up by a pulmonary dr & he blew my issues off w/a simple: loose 10 or 15 lbs & I'll be fine. At that time I was 5'6", 133 lbs, so I have no Idea where I was to loose weight. Anything less & people would ask me if I was sick & that I shouldn't loose any more weight. I was disappointed & have spent the last 9 yrs rarely sleeping the 6-8 hrs my drs insist I get. My 3 cardiologists agreed that it's hard on my heart & hard to loose the now 20/25 lbs I'm over my proper weight. Last night I arrived at the new location where a tech named Romero greeted me at the door. He like Debbie was welcoming, professional & did a fab job. I slept the whole night other than 1 or 2 times I woke briefly; falling back to sleep easily. In about 1 week I'll be contacted for an appt with the med supplier for a fitting & to receive my CPAP.

I receive care at his Thousand Oaks location, which has beautiful window views; He is in his Brentwood office part of the week. The initial visit includex an in-office CT scan to assess the cause of TMJ issues. Given my CT results, Dr. Shirazi asked that I see an osteopath (outside of his office) for adjustments to complement his care; That was helpful since I hold a lot of stress in my shoulders. The initial visit also included a more in depth overview of treatment cost & once you agree, he works on creating your custom day & night mouthguards; Those arrive in about a month, at which point your visits start up. When I had issues with two daytime appliance / nightguards chipping / breaking in multiple locations while eating (which he noted is rare), he fit me in to his schedule asap to grind down sharp edges & as needed, ordered replacements at no cost. In addition to the day & night appliances, I received red light therapy focused on jaw area, acupuncture (guided by your specific needs) & accupressure with magnets on a couple occasions. I also used their Alpha Stim device a few times in office, which is very relaxing. I appreciate Dr. Shirazi's expertise, problem-solving attitude, availability (via email when office is closed), and sense of humor. He & his team create a warm, welcoming & relaxing environment.
