My family has stayed at this Sleep Inn once or twice a year for approximately 3-4 years. We booked another stay for this weekend and received a confirmed reservation. After driving approximately 8 hours with my mother and three young children, we arrived at the hotel and were told at the front desk that we were banned from staying at the property because management considered the room too dirty after our previous stay. We had never been contacted about a problem after that stay. We were never charged a cleaning or damage fee. We were never told that anything had been damaged or needed to be replaced. Most importantly, no one notified us that we would not be permitted to stay before accepting and confirming another reservation. I fully understand that four days in a hotel room with three small children can leave a room needing cleaning. During our previous stay, the room needed vacuuming and some pizza sauce had gotten on the bedding. Had the hotel contacted me afterward about excessive cleaning or damage, I would have been happy to discuss it. What I cannot understand is accepting a future reservation, confirming it, providing no advance notice whatsoever, and then waiting until a family has driven eight hours to tell them at the front desk that they have nowhere to stay. I'm sharing this because other families should know that a confirmed reservation at this property did not mean our family would actually be accommodated upon arrival. If the hotel had contacted us when we booked--or at any point before our trip--we simply would have made other arrangements. read more

The rooms are very reasonably priced, they're very nice for said price, and the staff is incredible. The man behind the counter (I wish I knew his name) was very personable and extremely helpful. The breakfast is an absolute huge disappointment. I travel and stay in a lot of different hotels. The breakfast here was very, very bad. The eggs were either powered or liquid eggs and were crumby and tasteless. Not sure what meat (filled with cereal or some other type of filler) was used in the "sausage but it was oily, and tasteless. The gravy seemed like nothing but flower, water with some pepper in it. It also was tasteless. The pancakes were paper thin with no taste. If not for the mustard, ketchup, salt, pepper and syrup there would have been no taste at all. By far the worst hotel breakfast I've ever eaten and will be be my last visit to this hotel. Everything that was prepared in that kitchen was tasteless horrible except for the fried potatoes. Checked in at 1 a.m. Check in guy was friendly. I did call a few days before to make sure that wasn't going to be an option as we were coming from Kansas City following a Royals game. Told us that we had until 4 a.m. and if after that to call. I did call on the way to the hotel and confirmed again about our late arrival. Everything worked out great We don't have any pets but he did mention something about service dogs being allowed. I mention this because I saw a review that said they don't allow that. That is incorrect, they do. Our room was very clean, locks worked fine and everything in the bathroom was fine. Beds were comfortable. I would recommend this hotel. read more

We've only just rolled into town, and two things immediately make me regret that we opted to stay here: 1.) The sole elevator in the lobby is so slow that it's easier to walk to the far end of the hall and climb the stairs. I will own that vigorous walking isn't an issue for me. Perhaps most folks won't mind waiting? 2.) They claim to have WiFi, but I gave up after a dozen tries and being told the connection failed each time. That's not WiFi. That's a card with WiFi info on it that is useless. In every other respect, this looks like just another average, run-of-the-mill hotel with nothing special to recommend it. So I won't. Addendum: I'm predicting that breakfast will be wretched. I'll post an update in the event they prove me wrong. UPDATE: It was execrable. We drove elsewhere for breakfast. Also: This hotel allows pets (for an extra $20.00) So there is at least one thing that makes the place worth considering. There was another roach sitting in there we asked for a new room. They gave us a new room my mom decided to take a shower and the water was cold. Made a reservation forv2 nights using my Choice Hotel points. Had some issues with my vehicle which needed to be towed to Sleep Inn. Called the desk and toldbthem I'd be checking in about 1:00 AM. Arrived at 1:30. Desk Attendent said they overbooked so the manager gave my room to another guest. I reserved a King Suite. She said they only had one room a double queen. I could stay that night but no rooms for my second night. Went to the Holiday Inn Express for the second evening. Holiday inn Express place but not what I wanted to spend. In short, there was not a safe, clean room available for me yet they charged me even though I did not stay. I wasted hours on this hotel and as a 4+ year Yelp Elite member and years being a Choice Gold member, I am writing this review to help you make an informed decision on whether or not you want to risk this. I am extremely disappointed with this location. As a Choice Gold member, I can say this is the worst Sleep Inn I have experienced. I have stayed at this location multiple times, and last year their cleanliness standards definitely decreased. I gave it a year before I tried again, and it unfortunately only got worse. The first room I checked into had broken items including the lock to the door. Plus the carpets were dirty and stained. The seating was also stained and dirty. The second room would not lock either, the deadbolt would not fit into the hole. The person who checked me into the hotel told me they could only move me three times, and I shouldn't worry if my door can't lock because they have someone monitoring the hotel 24/7 and I will be safe. That is an absolutely terrible response, because you should never sleep in a room that won't lock and why would you trust your safety with a hotel management team that can't even perform basic maintenance to make sure rooms are secure and safe? The third room was also dirty, I couldn't even sit in the office chair to do work. After two hours of having to move all of my stuff and inspect three rooms, I didn't feel comfortable or safe here. I checked out of the hotel, and I was told to call Choice Customer Relations regarding a refund because there was not a manager available. Unfortunately the next day I was unable to contact the manager even though I called 3 times. I called Choice Customer Relations and they had me on the phone for a long time, and came to realize the person never checked me out last night so they couldn't do anything. They said I would have to contact the manager. Eventually the manager called me back, was very rude to me and explained that the rooms were clean (they weren't) and said they would charge me for the night I checked in even though I didn't stay, because I checked in. That definitely doesn't make sense because I didn't even stay there, and how would I have known that there wouldn't be a safe, clean room unless I checked in? Dirty and Rude. That is the takeaway from this establishment. Upon check in and found the toilet seat up and the roll of toilet paper down to the floor. This caused me pause. I took it upon myself to wipe down the seat with a disinfectant wipe to be safe. As I began to settle in, I noticed further evidence of poor housekeeping. While not the most dirty place I have stayed it definitely did not meet expectations especially in the time of COVID (MO having the highest cases of Delta variant). The following morning I went to use the microwave and found it covered in red food spatter. It was at this point I finally called down to the manager. My complaint was meet with not even an apology. Instead I was basically made to feel as though I had inconvenienced her due to the 40 rooms she had to prepare. When I was rudly hung up on, I attempted to make a complaint with corporate. I was told I could not make a complaint until after I checked out. I expressed my frustration of not being able to check out as there were no available rooms due to the Olympic Trials taking place in STL. I literally mean NOTHING was available. His response was that no one was forcing me to stay. Ummm I just stated why I couldn't leave sir . I attempted to get full service housekeeping by leaving the tag but only my bed was made, new towels, bathmat removed and not replaced. Purposely left microwave door open to encourage cleaning, no such luck. So much for their "commitment to clean." read more

Overall, this was a good stay for the price we paid. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. We came in very late and needed dinner. It would be nice if the staff was more aware of food choices in the area. We were told Denny's was the only thing open when we checked in, but the next night, we did find a much better option that served dinner until midnight just a couple blocks away. Sleep Inn has free breakfast, which was okay. I had stayed at a Sleep Inn in Utah with more breakfast offerings and was a bit underwhelmed by what they have here. It'd be nice if they expanded and offered a bit more food options. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and clean. The front desk staff were all very nice. They will offer you certain toiletry essentials if you forget yours. I really needed a nail file, but they didn't have one, and it would've been really nice if they did! Parking wasn't an issue; we could always find a space, and the hotel did seem to be quite busy. Overall, it was pretty quiet. I could hear people talking and a baby crying in the next room. I didn't have any trouble sleeping though. read more

This location is conveniently located, reasonably priced, well kept, and staffed with really friendly and professional people. The room was clean and updated, shower pressure and water temp was awesome. Complimentary breakfast was also satisfactory. Their eggs are actually cooked well, which is rare for hotels. But, when I show up in my room, and I've got hair in the bathroom sink, and the tub still has water in it (presumably from the last guy), I can't help wonder if the bathroom was ever cleaned @ all!! Sleep Inns are generally pretty good, and other than these issues, the room itself was fine with outstanding WIFI!! But when the bathroom looks like it hasn't been cleaned.... THAT'S A PROBLEM!! When I told the girl @ the front desk when I left, she didn't write anything down, and acted a little snotty when I asked her if she would remember what I said. I guess the old saying is true that it's hard to get good help anymore. I'm not saying I wouldn't stop here again, but hopefully someone can clean the bathroom next time. read more

This place was not clean at all. We had a baseball group that we booked our stay with. When we checked in one of our teammates didn't get a room even tho they were charged. After a few hours they finally got them in a room. The front counter never has anyone there. Had to beg for extra towels and had to explain to the staff why I needed extra towels. (Literally had to explain that my son was gunna take a 2nd shower after his baseball games). Would not allow our kids to sit in the waiting area/breakfast dinning area to hang out and told us to tell the kids to hang out in the hallway. When the kids where sitting in the hall way there was a very drunk and drugged out man laying on the ground on the top floor. The man growled at our kids and started rambling on about something to them. Went to the front desk again and tried to find someone to go deal with the drunk sleeping in the hallway. Never could find a single employee at that time. Some of the outside doors didn't lock and the whole hotel seemed very unsafe and very under staffed. Save yourself the headache and stay anywhere else, or save money and stay here and just sleep in the hallways as that seems to be fine with management at this place. read more

Pretty clean and modern the only reasons I took 2 stars off was the elevator was super slow. Also- When we got back to the hotel with our take out dinner there was no silverware. We went down to the front desk and asked to borrow some from the breakfast area but the lady at the front said they had locked it all up already and there was no way they could open the cabinet with the silverware. They didn't even have any plastic silverware either. So was had to eat our enchilada dinner without any utensils. We are from Indiana & were very excited to visit Missouri. We had blood on our sheets & a roach in our bathroom! The Manager named Maggie, was very rude to us on the phone when we called down to report blood on our covers. She never apologized and argued with me that all she could do was replace the sheets. Being very disgusted & disappointed by how we were being treated, I asked for any kind of discount & she refused. After several more mins of her arguing, she finally agreed to refund us $40 & we thanked her. Later, after looking at bank account, she charged the original amount of room, on top of an extra $36 (that we had no clue about), & instead of crediting us the $40 discount she had charged us the $40 instead. We then called the bank who also had her on the line & Maggie continued to argue with the bank & us that she did not charge us the extra $36 or the $40. Bank asked her several times for an access code to refund us the $36 & $40 & Maggie kept insisting that she didnt have one. She also said, "I DONT HAVE TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING!!!" Eventually she got even madder & said, "FINE, HERES THE ACCESS CODE...!!!!" Then the $36 was refunded. She again kept insisting that the $40 refund was credited to our account & banker told her it was not, but she refused to credit us the $40 or did not know how. Traveler type 1/5 Verified traveler Oct 5, 2019 I checked in and was sent to room 317 where i stood in the door way in awe. One of two beds was never made and towels all over the bathroom with the light still on so I backed out slowly. I went back to the front desk and she looked at me with disbelief that this just happened. She gave me a new room 103 which looked somewhat nice. About an hour later I slipped in the bath tub, once recovering from the fall (had back surgery recently) I was able to waddle to the front desk to let them know what happened plus asked for more towels to clean the water up. Not once was I asked if I was okay or given the option to have someone on staff to clean it up. At this point the frint desk lady gave me 4 "old" towels as what she said and I proceded back to my room. I ended up on my hands and knees cleaning the water up by the time I was done the floor was damp where I ended up sliding and almost falling again. I was stressed out and in pain so I slowly got back to my bath. As I started to soak the power went out and relaxation went back out the window. After getting out and finding my phone so I could see I proceded to the front desk since no staff came around to check in on guest. I was told what had happened (transformer was hit by lightning and was on fire, they were working on putting the fire out then fixing the issue) and ask about getting a refund on my room since they had no clue when the electricity would be back on due to the transformer being on fire. She said she would have to check with her boss. I never received an answer but ended up leaving to stay with my family where I could feel safe. Oct 8 2019 I called to see when refunds would be released and ended up dealing with a rude, disrespectful, lady at the front desk. She stated the electricity was only out for 40 minutes and I should have been asleep anyways. First of all the lights went out as I started my bath and I was definitely in there for a good 30-40 minutes with out lights trying to figure out which was shampoo and which was conditioner plus being careful not to slip and fall again. By the time I was finished and able to make it down to the lobby to see what was going on was an hour after the lights went out. The lady at the front desk said they were just told what was happening. All of this was an hour after and I went back to my room to pack everything back up with light to no light since my phone was almost dead. Why would I be leaving, no ac, no light, not able to charge phone, not able to watch tv, no amenities were available, and little to no help from the staff. So roughly an hour and half later from the start of the electricity issue I made it to the front desk again to check out. THE ELECTRICITY WAS OUT WAY LONGER THAN STATED AND THEY JUST DONT WANT TO REFUND ANYONE. Plus, who is she or anyone else to tell me "I should have been asleep anyways". Glad my husband ended up missing this trip because his breathing machine wouldnt have allowed him to sleep. This lady and their management should really learn how to properly take care of their GUEST. We will not be returning and our bank will be dealing with them at this point. read more

Very nice stay overall! The hotel itself is nice, modern, and clean equipped with an indoor pool and exercise facility. It's in a very quiet place right close to a few restaurants and stores (The Denny's close by is open all night if you get midnight munchies). It has a spectacular breakfast spread as well that consists of eggs, sausage, white-sausage gravy, cereal, waffles, boiled eggs, 3 kinds of juice, and much more stuff I don't remember (sadly no bacon though). Very nice breakfast line-up! And the staff were super friendly (shout-out to the guy working the night bc he was so amazing and fun to interact with). Wow! I LOVED this place! I stayed in Jan 2018 and did not want to leave! Seriously, I loved it. I came to STL for a mini vacay and never wanted it to end. Check In: Super easy. Very fast. The front desk was friendly and easy to talk to. They even pointed out the free beverages that are available 24/7 to all guests that are in the beautiful lobby which features plenty of tables. The Room: SO clean! I loved the cleanliness, and everything smelled so nice. It was chilly in the room so I had to turn the heat up high (which worked great!) but that's okay because I was hungry and went out for food after dropping my bags off. When I came back, I was surprised at how hot my room had quickly gotten (I hit a drive-thru). The room had all the usuals: phone, TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. The bathroom was SUPER clean, too. I was extremely impressed. All toiletries were there (shampoo, soap, lotion, etc) and the next morning, housekeeping came in while I was out, and saw my makeup bag on the counter so they dropped off makeup removing towelettes. I thought that was very kind of them to be so observant and thoughtful. Amenities: There was an ice machine in the hall, a swimming pool, and a fitness room. The lobby offers guests free (hot) tea, coffee, and hot cocoa at any time. It's a little self-serve counter that was very clean and neatly stocked with sugar and Splenda/equal, cream (French vanilla, hazelnut, etc), coffee stirs, and a variety of flavored teas. I recently stayed 5 nights at the Sleep Inn on Technology Drive in O Fallon, Missouri. When I arrived there was nobody at the front desk for 10 minutes and a hand written sign that said we are away checking out rooms and will return soon. When the unfriendly Gal returned she did not even say hello or welcome or anything nice at all. She was rude and just asked me my last name, got me checked in and gave me my keys. After a long day of travel from Seattle this is not how you want to be introduced to the place your going to be staying at and paying for. To my big disappointment this behavior from the hotel staff was the same from everyone at the hotel. They were not friendly, they were distant and rude. And they were not helpful in any way at any time during my stay. Kindness is a needed and simple task for everybody especially one who works in this industry. I Immediately thought of changing hotels but the hotel itself was newer, with comfortable reasonably clean rooms and an affordable price. But the hotel staff needs a big housecleaning or new management or training. Well, while this is a beautiful place to stay I will not be staying here EVER again. I was a member of the choice hotel program. When booking a room you are charged up front. No biggie, unless you need to cancel. Had a death in the family and was told that I could not cancel since I had already paid for my room...wait..what?!?!? I know..gave more than 48 hours notice!!!! We recently spent 6 nights here. Not sure what to expect, but the hotel turned out to be great! We had a very nice room on the first floor, so no experience with the elevator. Breakfast every morning was fab - so nice to eat with real plates and utensils instead of styrofoam and plastic. We travel with our pets and they had a separate area for you to walk your pets and even included baggies and a place to put the poo! I'm sorry some people didn't feel the need to use that - you can't enforce manners I guess. The one down side is the bathroom - there's no towel rod to put a towel on when you take a shower - we wound up using the grab bar. Not ideal but it works. Lots of local food choices (which we found on Yelp!) and gas nearby. Did have one mix up - an inhaler I use at night disappeared. It's possible it was caught up in a towel or thought to be trash since it's very light and doesn't make any noise. Also the phone for some reason wasn't working and had to be replaced. I don't ding the hotel for this because if a guest doesn't say anything to them they would never know. Great value for a very nice place. While staying at this hotel over the weekend, we had issues with ac in one of our rooms. While checking out, questioned the front desk to see if there was anything that could be done to compensate for the issue and was told that I would have to speak with the manager. Called the Manager (Merrie) and I understand that her staff had told her differently the situation that occurred. The Manager all but called me a liar, spoke very abrupt and hung up on me. I understand that hotels have to deal with lots of issues, but the way that I was personally treated by the manager was ridiculous. She did not have to have that tone when speaking to a customer.
