I tried. My first review disappeared?? But I had a great stay here in Midland. All the clerks were so helpful.. Printing maps to my couple destinations and even to Dow Gardens. I came from 'downstate' to attend Birthday party for 15 yr. old boys' Quencentera and his brother's HS Graduation party. I had no clue where to go so both the clerks helped direct me - no problem. It was also very nice to have free breakfast daily, for all guests. What a pleasant surprise for that. * I wanted to take a dip in their beautiful pool, I just didn't make the time to do so. :( ...nxt time for sure I will go for a swim. Nice to learn that a local swim school DOES use the pool regularly for their young students in the Midland School district, to teach them how to swim! And my room was situated right nxt. to where my car was parked and right nxt to the exit door to the parking lot. Those are the best accommodations they could give to a 77 yr.old traveling via car alone. Thank you so much to Sleep Inn and their staff. read more

Horrible. Credit card over charged. Had to dispute charges. Room was on 1st floor was not able to lock the window and screen was not in place. Shower stall dirty . Carpet and paint in need of replacement Also no toilet paper on holder. Had to go ask for a roll and put on myself. read more

So far, they kind of suck. I checked in yesterday. When I made the three day reservation, I informed them that I required daily housekeeping. I'm a Diamond member of their rewards program. I was assured that this would not be a problem. I checked in yesterday, reminded them that I needed daily housekeeping. No problem. I left at 7:00 this morning, just got back at 8:30 this evening. Room has not been touched. Manager on duty remembers my phone call when I made the reservation. She said there was even a note on my file-yet no housekeeping. They are not providing me with a clean room tonight, in spite of the fact that I paid for one. They are not doing anything but promising to clean my room tomorrow. They promised to clean it today. I should believe them why? God it will be a cold day in the region ruled by the Devil before this property sees another dime from me, and I am going to rethink all future stays at Choice properties. read more

I'm not gonna go into too much detail. Just know that there was dried food on my sheet when I first arrived. The room smelled like locker room and smoke. The climate control didn't work. They spilled something on my laptop while they "cleaned." Two stars because they were nice. read more

My stay here at the Sleep Inn was good! The bed was good, the shower was good and the customer was good! It was close to our needed stops and easy to get around! I will use again if in the area again. read more

I really have no idea what other people have gone through, but I thank the sky above for them being here. My mother and I just moved back into the Midland area and needed a hotel to stay at for two nights before we could move into our apartment. The staff was super nice, they had a shower chair for my mom the moment we asked for it. The room was super clean, everything worked amazing, the shower was great. Being 6'2", most hotel showers are to short, this one was nice and tall and the soap was omg amazing. Breakfast was really good, eggs and meat and hot waffles with strawberry's and whipped cream. I never left hungry after that it was so good. We stayed 2 nights, for with tax $188 where most of the other hotels that would barely get you one night with everything we got here. Really disappointed with the cancellation policy of the Sleep Inn in Midland, MI. My son is a college intern and & I had to book him a room for a Tuesday night. As I was out of town, I did this on my phone. Booking was easy enough. When I got my confirmation email, it said in big bold letters FREE CANCELLATION. No where did it say on the confirmation that you must cancel by Sunday at 11:59 PM. When I called to cancel the room after my son's company changed his plans, I was told it was too late. Understanding that the man who answered the call may not be able to handle the request, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told "she is not available and she would not be able to do anything any way" WOW! Great customer service Sleep Inn and Choice Hotels - I will not stay at any of your hotels again and advise anyone reading this to think twice about staying there too. read more

This place is horrible... the staff is rude and unprofessional.. There was no hot breakfast, only frozen sandwiches... The 1st room I was put in the shower bar was literally on the floor when I walked in....couldn't even go swimming because the water looked like swamp water, the workout room only had 3 machines in it. The internet keep going in and out and on top of everything they refuse to refund my deposit. Tried talking to the manager but the staff refuse to let me talk to him... If you have a chance to stay somewhere else please do so because you will be disappointed read more

The service here was great and they really try to make your stay good here....however: There is no soundproofing so expect to hear conversations of your next door neighbors through the walls. I just happened to have next door neighbors that liked to talk to their wives for over an 1 a piece on the phone. The mattresses are old and need replacing. The heater/ac unit in my room did not work very well so getting a good temperature was a challenge. The wifi was slow. The carpet in the room needs to be replaced as my socks were black after only one night. They allow pets here so for pet owners, good news. For me, red eyes and sneezing was non-stop while in the room. The equipment in the gym was the worst I have ever seen anywhere. The hotel is getting old and needs updating. I think if they remodeled the place, it would have been more tolerating for me. The price wasn't bad, there was an OK hot breakfast buffet, the service was good, and it did have some modern amenities. Bottom line though, this hotel was not for me. I checked out 2 days early as another hotel had rooms open then. read more

After a long day of driving I decided it was time to find a hotel and get some rest. I got there about 11:15pm on Saturday July 18th 2020 the man at the desk was very friendly and made check in quick and easy! (I think he could tell I was exhausted) the price was fair. This was my first hotel stay since the covvid-19 so I was a little uneasy about the cleanliness of the room, I was impressed and happy when I walked into the room and it was spotless! (I also felt like it was clean) which made me very comfortable. The room was well organized and had everything I needed (fridge,microwave,iron,etc..) the next morning I was greeted by friendly staff throughout the hotel as I left! Again I thank the staff, for a great experience. I will stay there again and I will recommend "The Sleep Inn" to anyone I know staying in Midland! read more

Hotel fought me tooth and nail not to refund a 2 night reservation made in error after the hotel GM, Sheila, told Expedia it would make the refund. Thankfully Expedia takes good notes. Expedia recorded her promise to refund. I used the notes to get a refund on my credit card. I had only needed one night, so the 2 night mistake was cancelled and a 1 night reservation was made with Expedia. But the hotel had 3 nights payment. It had confused to the credit card company about what had happened to avoid refunding the mistakenly made 2 night reservation. I ended up cancelling the trip due to airline foul ups but did not dispute the I night no show bec of the no refundable policy, but Sheila wanted to keep all 3 nights. read more

BUG!!!!! Weekend soccer tournament. Trip started off great until my daughter found a live bug in the bed. Had to call front desk twice for them to come get the bug. Found my bill under the door the next morning. No call to apologize about the bug or to ask what happen by management. Went to the front desk and complained about the bug. The GM made a joke about it. I left two messages for the owner, but never received a call back. read more

The rates were cheaper than all the similar type of hotels (almost half than the Holiday Inn). The rooms are clean, neat, and modern. The bed was comfy. The place is quiet and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They have all the commodities of similar hotels (indoor pool, free wifi, breakfast, etc). When you add it up, you can't beat it for the price. read more

WORST customer service. They are charging my credit card for an error on their part and when I called about it, the manager, Sheila Jensen, hung up the phone on me! She didn't offer to help and she even accused me of lying by saying that she receives hundreds of "these types of calls". Now I can tell you that I have never lied about an incorrect charge to gain money nor would I go through all this trouble calling the reservations online counter and the hotel to get a charge retracted. PLEASE stay away from this place, as their customer service is rotten and they do not offer any help in any way. They will only take your money and say "there's nothing we can do." Even after giving her suggestions of what she can do. Then she hung up on me. And when I called right back, she was "in the bathroom" and wouldn't come to the phone. How can you call this good customer service? I have actually never written a bad review for anyone, but this is such a blatant show of bad customer service that I have to warn others of how poorly they have handled my case and don't care that innocent people have to pay charges when they shouldn't be. I absolutely hate when cases aren't treated fairly and when people in the customer service industry don't do their jobs and offer any amount of customer service. When I emailed their general manager, here is the reply I received from Jay Patel, GM of Sleep Inn Midland: "I'm am sorry but we are running a business and we have to make money to stay in business." What kind of manager would ever tell a customer that they are running a business and they must make money to stay in business as the reason why they won't refund me even though they incorrectly charged me! read more

The rates were very reasonable and they were one of the few hotels in town that we could bring our dog who was traveling with us. Overall very clean and we would stay again as it was quiet (despite it seeming that everyone had a pet) and very accommodating. read more

I made a reservation on the phone on Tuesday 7 p.m. for the following day. Everything went well with this. The next day I had to cancel because our plans had changed. I called at 9 a.m. It was at this time that I was told about a 24 hour cancellation policy. This was never mentioned when I made the reservation (which was made less than 24 hours from check-in). They said they would just charge me a $25 cancelation fee, instead of the room charge. This was only after arguing for a few minutes. Choice Hotels did not respond to my email complaint. After calling their complaint number, their customer relations called the hotel and spoke with the person who made my reservation, Jay. He said he mentioned the 24 hour cancellation policy. This is not true, or I never would have made the reservation, since it was less than 24 hours till check-in. There is nothing on Sleep Inn Midland website or Choice Hotels website about cancelation policies. Worst customer service I've had with a hotel. Don't trust them and know their unspoken and unwritten policies if you make a reservation. read more

This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in a long time. The room very out dated and big cigaret burn in comforter. This is a non-smoking room. Also there was a huge party going on down the hall. Kids running up and down the hall and when I mentioned to staff the did nothing about and seemed anoied. Will not stay here again!!! read more
