So our 11 month old was waking up 3-4 times throughout the night to breastfeed. I was loosing my mind as you can imagine from not having proper consistent sleep in almost a full year. Our baby was never a good sleeper. Since the day she was born we encountered every sleep issue imaginable (inability to put herself to sleep, constant need to be held, inability to put her down into crib/basinet without awakening, multiple night awakenings, early morning awakenings, short naps...if she even napped at all). It was horrible. We read multiple books, searched through various blogs, and had asked questions to all of our friends who had sleep trained their children in the past. We tried what felt like everything and yet nothing was working. When we decided to work with Hilliary I was nervous, apprehensive, and somewhat skeptical. I was worried that we were going to receive generic advice that I had already tried to implement. I was worried that my child was hopeless given how difficult and stubborn she had been her entire life. We were truly shocked with the results we saw after implementing Hilliary's plan. To start, Hilliary devoted an incredible amount of time to create a truly customized plan for our daughter. She also spent an incredible amount of time educating us on how to go about applying our new routine. Her instructions were specific yet very simple to implement, and above all very reasonable. She was honest with us and adapted her plan based on our desires (for example, we were not comfortable night weaning yet, however after two weeks of working with Hilliary our daughter self-weaned! I would recommend 1 million times! Hillary was amazing to work with!! Before we started our LO would have to be rocked and shushed to sleep on a yoga ball for over an hour and would get up 4 to 5 times throughout the night just to be fed or rocked back to sleep. I was very skeptical because I had tried the cry it out method on our own and it only worked for about a week and then my LO started to wake back up throughout the night again. We really didn't know what to do or where to go and that is when we turned to Hillary - and thank God we did! Now our LO can successfully put herself to sleep without being rocked at all and only wakes up once to feed! I'm normally not one to post reviews, but working with Hilliary has made such a huge difference in our lives and sanity that I just have to share. I'll start by saying I was firmly against "Cry It Out". I was hesitant to work with a sleep specialist because we had developed sleep habits that felt instinctively "right" (co-sleeping, nursing to sleep, etc.), but that I had heard were "wrong" and I didn't want to be judged or lectured. At the same time, we got to a point where I just couldn't function because my 9-month old was waking up every 2 hours. The sleep deprivation was so brutal. I've always been against sleep training. It just wasn't my 'thing' and I didn't have to do it with my first kid. But at 12 months old, my daughter was still waking up every 3-4 hours and at times it could take 2 hours to get her back down. Our daughter Delanie was only taking 30 min naps and waking several times a night with a wake up around 5:30 AM. Plus, my wife and I were taking turns sleeping in a recliner in her room to get her to sleep a little longer. Hilliary was extremely sweet and supportive throughout the entire sleep training process for my 6mo old. My baby girl now knows to fall asleep all by herself which wasn't possible before. My husband and I were a bit hesitant to go through the process knowing that it might involve a whole lot of crying, but its all for the best at the end - knowing that the baby gets more quality sleep overall without having to rock her for hours! She used to sleep only for 6 hours maximum and then wake up and cry. The only way to make her fall back asleep again was to feed and rock her which used to take an hour or more. Just one month ago our 4 month old daughter Harper was really having a rough time with her sleep. She wouldn't fall asleep without being rocked - sometimes for an hour or more - both at night and during the day.
