I recently attempted to board my puppy at this kennel. I made the reservation, sent up to date vaccination records and completed the payment for the deposit. I would be dropping my pet off in the early am, do to travel arrangements. I arrived to a not so well lit parking lot, no established signs stating employee parking etc. I found the first empty space, no parking lines visible. I parked my car and attempted to reconfirm I am at the right location via my Google maps. All of a sudden I am startled by an angry woman, tapping on my driver side window. I was scared to look, let alone roll down my window in this unknown area. I did anyway for this unknown person to tell me I am double parked and In employee parking that is clearly not marked as such. I then proceeded to advise this unknown person I am checking to make sure I am at the right place and they should not tap on anyone's window they do not know in complete darkness. She then begins to yell and tell me she can do whatever she wants, she works here. I advised her she is not the parking lot police! And could get hurt approaching vehicles in this manner. I have never experienced such disregard for my safety, or been approached for anything so minute. What would make anyone feel they have the right to tap on a stranger's window about parking and then play the victim. I was then turned away because this individual was the receptionist, not the owner or person in charge, did not feel comfortable speaking with me about my dogs stay. I was inconvenienced, had to hurry and find other arrangements for my puppy and management has not even contacted me about this situation. I would stay away from this place, clearly they treat the dog owners and animals bad. I would not trust my animal in that shack looking place anyways read more

I was going out of the country for six weeks for language school, and needed to board a cat and a dog. I looked everywhere before I decided on these guys. They had one of the cleanest places I'd looked at, and the cat place was especially attractive. The cat kennel had a window, which was so great, because my cat loves to look out a window, and it was two tiered, so she could stretch her legs, jumping up and down. My dog is smallish (45 lbs.), but because of the duration, they were willing to put her in a run designed for a large dog, so she had more space. She got 1:1 time with staff every day, and they gave me the "bulk" rate, even though I wanted to rotate what she had every day. It was great that they were willing to work with me like that. While I was gone, I got a daily report on each pet-- what they ate, their demeanors, and any special events. They also were willing to take a sick pet to my vet if a problem came up (none did). And when I picked up, they seemed healthy and well-cared for. Everyone working that day came out to say goodbye to them. They had gotten to like them really well over the time, it was clear. If I had to do long-term boarding, I would definitely go here again. read more

I love the folks at Sleepy Hollow. I feel 100% comfortable leaving the dogs there when I'm out of town. They noticed that my boy dog was very stressed and was taking it out on the female, so they separated the two. I love that they keep detailed log of how much they eat, if they are drinking, going to the bathroom, etc. It makes me more secure that someone is really looking after them. The prices are really reasonable too. $16 a day per dog plus $4 if you want an optional play time/walk. I will definitely use Sleepy Hollow again. read more

We were taking our dogs to Downtown Doggie for short little weekends but decided to try out Sleepy Hollow due to the prices being much more reasonable since we have some longer vacations coming up. We loved our experience and plan to keep using them for boarding. Our pups seemed to have done great and the staff seemed really involved. This was our 2nd time using Sleepy Hollow. The first time we just took our bigger dog and they left detailed report cards each day so that we could see how our dog was doing. I thought this was a really neat feature. When we picked our dog up he seemed to have loved the place and was super happy to see us. I would've given a 5 star review. This time we took both dogs. A very small dog and a very big dog. Both have been acting a little off since they arrived home. They are fully vaccinated and have had blood in their stool and have been vomiting nearly daily. Urine has been a very dark color. They haven't had much energy, which is unusual, and have been drinking more water than they ever would before. The report cards this time were recycled for a few of the days stating the same things. Sleepy Hollow really disappointed us on this latest trip. read more

We left our two Samoyed for a week and found the service excellent. Our dogs returned happy and obviously very well cared for. Sleepy Hollow is run by dog lovers and they do little extras such as cuddle time, walks, and email 'letters' with pictures from your dogs telling you how they are doing. These all cost a little extra but were well worth it to us. The kennel also appears to have a variety of staff working with the dogs, so we knew our dogs weren't alone all the time. Her rates are very affordable, she even worked with us on pricing based on our need. But more than that she took a real interest in the welfare and well being of our new dog. She made sure he was on the best airline, had all the appropriate crating and water and even went to meet him and his former owner so she would be comfortable about the process and know the dog was in good hands and would be safe relocating across the country. You might also notice that the prices are set lower than other kennels in this area, granted you may not get a 24/7 web cam feed, but is all that really necessary? If there is something wrong, they call you immediately.
