The room included a full kitchen, which was a huge plus and gave us everything we needed during our stay. The location is excellent--right in town and close to restaurants, shops, and the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. One of the highlights was seeing a moose walking through the neighborhood, which made the experience even more memorable. The heating and air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping the room comfortable regardless of the weather outside. Overall, Yellowstone Gateway Inn was clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and in a fantastic location. We would definitely stay here again.

They have very minimal food in dining room that's deplorable and they are still not cleaning rooms due to Covid, but we did get a $5 discount for that. Stay in towns outside the gates.

That night I would have given the hotel 5 stars, but fast forward to our alarm going off at 4:30am to get ready for our day. I unpacked and placed all my shower toiletries in the shower. I stepped in the shower, and then I turned on the shower. The water was cold, but I thought well I have to let it warm up. I waited, standing cold, in the shower, half wet, waiting and waiting. The shower never turned warm. I did not shower that morning. I had to dry all my toiletries off and repack them. I think is a heck of a lot to pay at Mammoth Hot Springs to not have hot water. I only give 3 stars because of the enormous price. 2 nights cost us almost the same as the 6 other nights at Hilton chain hotels on our road trip and there we had all the conveniences plus restaurants near by. Hotel dining room is reservations only, limited menu,expensive and poor reviews. There is no other place to eat closer than 40 min each way. Lucky we had picked up lunch meat and rolls in Cody or it would have been no dinner for us!
