We had a great stay at Yellowstone Gateway Inn, in Gardiner, MT. The beds were extremely comfortable and made it easy to relax after long day of travel. The room included a full kitchen, which was a huge plus and gave us everything we needed during our stay. The location is excellent--right in town and close to restaurants, shops, and the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. One of the highlights was seeing a moose walking through the neighborhood, which made the experience even more memorable. The heating and air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping the room comfortable regardless of the weather outside. Overall, Yellowstone Gateway Inn was clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and in a fantastic location. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Bathroom was not clean. Bath mat stained and cigarette burns on floor. Staff was none existent. Called and emailed number they provided. No call back. No staff on site. No kitchen. Had a counter with coffee machine. Bed was not level. Headboard part of bed was 3 or 4 inches lower then foot area. The place outside was dirt road and rocks behind other buildings. Room was about 10 x 10 in size with 30" wide hallway to bathroom 5 feet long. The place was nothing like the pictures on their site. I checked in at 8pm. After hrs of trying g to get someone. We sent msg and checked out at 4am. A day early. Stay far away from this place. When we were there at least 4 other families were having the same issues. This place was perfect for 5 people. The couches that pull out were already made. The maintenance man was amazing and told us where to go to see grizzlies and he was spot on. He even let us borrow bear spray! Only about 10 minutes from the park. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. read more

Can I live here? OMG. The details of this place amazed me. Tongue in groove furniture, the best mattress one can buy, high quality appliances, heavy weight eating utensils, quiet, sound proof walls, great customer service. The difference between a five star hotel and, say, a three star, is in the details. This place certainly reminded me of my infrequent stays in a five star. No corporate, bland, everything in neutral colors here, instead, the decorations were done with skill, professionalism and passion. Great little touches like, not just a pull out couch, but a pull out ottoman. (don't try and move that thing, it is heavy!) Cute, but not overly cutesy, rustic outdoor themed touches. Clean, clean, clean. Two giganto TVs. Plenty of pillows and extra bedding. Open the cabinets and you will find a useful slew of small kitchen appliances and an outdoor lantern. And there are a couple of super nice grills for your use! This really feels more like some wealthy family's In-law apartment instead of a hotel. The only little issue, and it is small, is that a big truck will have a hard time fitting into the small parking lot and small spaces. We had a handicap placard but there were no handicap spaces near our apartment. First world problem. And here is a hint. If you want to get to the cute little grocery store across the street, there is an alleyway that goes through the Super 8 parking lot. We went on the off-season and paid a fraction of what the place is worth. Go us. Super friendly manager. Large one bedroom suite apartment room, full service kitchen with large size fridge and microwave. Comfy large beds, king and queen and huge tv with all the channels. Where to start on how amazing our stay has been at this property. Michael is the owner has been great with the accommodations. He has put in so much thought into each of these units that it feels like being at home. The beds are super comfortable, plenty of storage, kitchen has everything you need to cook and grill, shower has great water pressure with plenty of nice quality towels. We grilled 2 of the 3 night we were here. We loved how the kitchen has the tools we needed to bbq. Nathaniel was very helpful with anything we needed during our weekend stay. This inn is in the middle of town so it was easy walking distance into town. I would highly recommend this place. We can't wait to come back again. Thank you for making our trip memorable. My husband rented the Yellowstone Gateway Inn for our Yellowstone vacation in Gardiner Montana. The room is comfortable with wonderful pictures of wildlife full kitchen with a coffee maker and coffee and tea provided cute little rocking chair outside your door to have a cup of coffee in the fresh air. BBQ area to BBQ fish you catch or pick up food from the local market lovely homey cozy getaway. I went to the hot springs and they Provide beach towels. I loved the cute cozy accommodations! Our family stayed at Yellowstone Gateway Inn for three nights in early June. The location is very very close to the North entrance to the park, which is my favorite entrance. My husband and I agreed at the end of the trip that we should have just stayed all nights at Yellowstone Gateway Inn (instead of spending some nights in West Yellowstone -- the queues are longer getting in). Yellowstone Gateway Inn is also really close to a grocery store where we got essentials for packed lunches. The kitchen is well equipped. Even though it's a small business in a small town (and in a rather seasonal business), the staff is kind and tries to go above and beyond. Special shout out to KARI who made my daughter's day! We will be recommending Yellowstone Gateway Inn to all our friends. read more

The bathroom shower hasn't been clean in what seems to be a while, the under bed is filthy; my dogs ball rolled under there and came back with dust bunnies. The microwave is tapped together which would be fine if there had been a warning. The top of the microwave came off and fell on me while I was cooking. It is duct tapped together. The dishes where dirty. I have been taking pictures since I arrived with timestamps but I am unsatisfied with the room cleanliness. Not sure why this place has 5 stars. While it was clean, it had old furniture and carpets. It hasn't been renovated in a very long time. As lodging is limited in Gardiner, not sure what the rest of the properties in the area were like. Incredible place right at north entrance to Yellowstone. Don't let the facade deter you, This was the cleanest, friendliest, quietest, most comfortable place we stayed all week! Loved the personal escort to our 2-bedroom place, immaculate gas grills, well-appointed kitchen and especially the elk who were my guests while cooking at the grill! COVID had laundry facilities closed but there was a drying rack and warm afternoon that worked fine. Great for family with teen and 20 year old - would go back for sure! read more

We will definitely try to come back here if we get a chance to re-visit Yellowstone, especially in winter. During the winter season most of the entrances to the park is closed and the only one that is open is the north entrance which is only a 5 min drive from this inn. This place was amazing! We were so lucky find it it. The studio we stayed in was the perfect getaway to a long day at the park. We were greeted by the owner (we think he's the owner?) with a friendly smile and quick check in. He also offered to stop by our room and show us how everything works which was incredibly kind. This hotel DOES NOT allow you to cancel a reservation unless it is a week before you trip. They do NOT have sympathy for any emergent or medical issues that occur even more than 24 hours ahead of time. My husband and I booked a room only a couple of days in advance over the phone with no notice of cancellation fees when it was obvious-to the staff-it would not be a week in advance so they would be taking our money no matter what. (I believe that this should be disclosed at every booking-not only when asked about as suggested by manager) My husband ended up in the ER with blood clots in his lungs and we called immediately to tell them we couldn't be there. They said sorry and sent us an email with the cancellation policy AFTER taking the $400 out of our account. I would NEVER book there as no emergencies are acceptable for refund nor did they show compassion in the fact that my husband could have died. We were willing to pay a fee, but did not expect the entire purchase price since we were unable to take our trip. **After several phone conversations and a bit of prayer, the owner at YELLOWSTONE GATEWAY INN did call back and decided to give us a refund for the room. That was kind of them to have compassion on our situation. (However, stressful to discuss with the manager/owner to that point) I changed my rating from one star to three due to this change of heart. I have never actually been to this hotel. This is based on booking experience only. Other reviewers seem happy with their stay. I'm really sad we were unable to stay here. read more

This hotel is very nice. I was in YNP New Years Day thurough the 8th. Amenities Around: There is a little store about a minute from the hotel. Many animals around the area. Once, I came back from snowshoeing and there was a HUGE elk sitting in the parking lot!!!!! A few restaurants within 5 minutes of the hotel, including Yellowstone Grill, (I have a review on this), and K Bar (review on this also).The entrance to YNP is about five minutes away. The Room: I don't know if all rooms are like this, but mine was AWESOME. I had two bedrooms, a bathroom, two pullout couches, and a kitchenette. Also, there was DirecTV. Very, very nice room. It is a motel style hotel. The doors are outside but the room quality is superior to that of any motel. I stayed in room 109 or 110. All in all, one of my all-time favorite hotels. If you are visiting YNP, you gotta stay here!!!! read more

We were very pleased with our stay at this place. Michael, the host and the owner, was a great host. The facility used to be an apartment complex. Michael renovated it in 2011 and opened up a fabulous inn. We had a 2-room suite with kitchen and living room. The beds were incredibly comfy. The bathroom had completely new fixtures and was top notch. A real coffee maker is provided, and you can use either the organic coffees provided or buy some fresh grind from one of the nearby espresso / coffee shops or the market down the street. HDTV via DirecTV is provided as well as a blu ray player. Michael has a vast selection of blu ray discs / DVDs to choose from if you didn't bring any with you. There is also a pharmacy / video rental store in town if you want other selections. All in all, this was a fantastic place to stay, and there is no doubt we will be back here in the summertime! read more

Wonderful BIG room. I don't know if they're all the same, but we had a room/cabin (not exactly sure how to categorize it) that had a king in one room and a queen in the other. There are also MULTIPLE pull out sleepers in the living room. Didn't need all of that but it was nice to spread out with some DirectTV after a long day of hiking and natural wonders at YNP. Full kitchen with oven- bonus since we enjoyed some freshly baked cinnamon rolls on a cold morning. The only grocery in town was walking distance from the hotel. read more

After an exhausting day exploring Yellowstone, my wife had booked a room at this location. We were at first skeptical from the outside of the structure being single story and the dirt road leading up to registration. We where SO shocked upon entry to what we thought was a small room. Trevor at the front desk was so helpful and showed us the details. This is a super clean room which is tastefully decorated. It's like a luxury one bedroom condo with granite counters and crown molding. Two flat screen wall mounted TV's ..., what? Highly recommend this place! Don't pass this up if your visiting. If I could, I'd give YGI 6 stars! We booked our room 6 months in advance for a mid-May stay and were pleasantly surprised when we were told that we had been upgraded to the "house down by the river." It really was a house down by the river! The house was well kept, super clean, and spacious. We were a family of 5 and fit VERY comfortably in a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath house. (It's advertised for 13 with pull outs in the living room.) The kitchen is fully equipped. We even saw two deer one morning during breakfast. Location is 5 miles right outside of the north entrance. And it's .3 miles from the local super market. YSNP was amazing and Gateway Inn was the perfect place to stay for visiting the Mammoth and Lamar Valley areas. We'll definitely return to the park and book our stay here again! read more

I would give this 5 stars for every aspect but one, noise. Although no fault of the proprietor, it's not on a slab foundation so every time a door closes you hear/feel it. Quite a bit. Other than that, absolutely superb rooms, clean, new, well provisioned, crown molding details, superior mattreses, very nice shower heads, spa like soaps etc., newer appliances. Hands down superior to any local hotel in the area. We just happen to be next to a group with 6 or 7 younger kids. That was apparently sponsored by Monster* energy drinks. And pixie stix. read more

"Pride of ownership" is the best way to describe this lodging. The layout worked perfectly for our family with a king size bed, a foldout couch and a kitchen. The kitchen is a bonus and I did not have to hunt for coffee because the kitchen is stocked with a coffee pot and organic coffee. The rooms were very clean and updated. It's the perfect location with a grocery store right across the street. Also, the town is the gateway to the park. I would highly recommend this lodging. read more

Great spot to spend the night when visiting Yellowstone. Has a full kitchen, comfortable bed, and great night manager.

We had a little hiccup during check-in. We booked the room for 6, but some how it got over booked and was not available. I wasn't at the front desk, but they made sure to accommodate my husband with a bigger room that would sleep more than 6 comfortably. The inn was super clean and welcoming with surprising extras like beach towels, dishes and plenty of linen. There were elk around the property which was pretty cool. We stayed here previously back in March 2016 and beyond satisfied with our stay. So much so that we are staying a week at this same property right now. The units are incredibly comfortable, furnished with everything that you could possibly need, and are spotless - not to mention that the mattresses are super comfortable. We were 4 'ladies of a certain age' on vacation since we've known each other for over 50 years. Wonderful staff, very convenient for exploring Yellowstone. We originally were staying one night, heading out to Glacier for two nights and returning to stay for another two nights. Well, weather and fire stopped us from going further north and the folks at YG Inn were very helpful in helping us with our predicament. We ended up staying five nights there in a two bedroom suite with a sofa bed and full kitchen. It was excellent. I highly recommend this spot - it seems a little sketchy since it faces the main drag, but you can't get there without going down what seems to be a back alley. But well worth it! The last outpost against the wilderness, it's hard not to see Gardiner as a lighthouse shining through the winter snows. Stop by the Rusty Rail if you're staying the night. What a great place. Don't let the main street appearance fool you - these are high end places that are perfect for a family or a honeymooning couple. Even if you are on a budget, call and talk to Michael. Newly renovated with wifi and dishTV. This might not matter to some of you, but they use organic bath and body products. A massive shower head towers over my 6' 3" frame, a rarity in any hotel. The bed we slept in was a pillowtop King that rivals those of JW Marriotts, with Egyptian cotton sheets with a high thread count. There is a full kitchen and living room with morning coffee packets provided. I came in and felt at home. I talked to Michael - the owner and he was extremely nice. We stayed in mid October so the prices were more than reasonable, especially compared to the other places in town. Staying here is a must on your tour of Yellowstone. When you talk to Michael he will give you some local pointers on what to do at the North Entrance of Jellystone. Go to The Bookstore & Cafe just down the street for your morning breakfast. A rad little bohemian coffee shop with one of the best breakfast burritos. Sit down and grab the "Images of America: Yellowstone" book and marvel at how little we can do today. read more

Hands down the best place to stay in the area. I've been to Gardiner twice in recent years and stayed elsewhere my first trip and the place was okay. Found this great gem and no question, we will be back. Let's forget the fantastic accommodations for a second, and just mention the folks at the Gateway Yellowstone are the nicest, most accommodating, helpful of any place I've ever stayed. We mailed 9 heavy giant boxes of outdoor gear and it was no problem, no big deal, waiting in our room when we arrived. Suites are top notch, CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, well stocked kitchens, bathrooms, nice tvs, boot mats, coat racks, full size frig w/ icemaker, and considering it was -28 on the day we arrived, our suite was warm and toasty. We love this place! We stayed here in 2015 and again very recently. The staff are all very nice and very helpful with directions, places to eat and sites to see. There is a large library of dvds/blurays for the 2 massive TVs with theatre sound. The full kitchen was a huge plus since we had 4 adults and 5 children to feed and not a lot of options as far as restaurants. But we all slept comfortably. Especially us parents in the huge comfy King bed! All in all there were 5 beds, which is great for huge families. There were plenty of pillows and blankets for everyone. They also have towels to go jump in the Boiling River. Of which we haven't yet but we will one day! And if need to do laundry they provide the soap and fabric softener. We will be back next year and hopefully a summer trip. read more
