The guy was spending like 10-mins just explaining details about jewelry they sell to a customer who did not want to buy anything just for fun! The lady behind the counter who helped me was super friendly and nice. And she wrapped what I bought with a lot of care. I wish I lived in Ashland and could visit them more often. I bought a few of their beautiful leather bookmarks for myself, but they're going so fast because everyone loves them and wants one! I wish they had things they sell in their store on their website too, so I could order more bookmarks, but sadly that's not the case.

They over charge you for the items in their store, they double charged me several times in the past and probably times I didn't know about it since I just started checking my receipt when leaving there noticing the large amount they charged me for things I never even bought! The first time I noticed they double charged me I brought it to their attention and they acted embarrassed and refunded the amount. The last time I went in they did it again but with several items and refused to refund my money! Jan actually kept my receipt and said she needed to check on it and would call me which she never did! 4 weeks later I called in since i didn't hear back from her and she said that she couldn't refund me cause nobody remembered double charging me when it was plain as day on my receipt that I was! My advice is take the time to drive to a different Hallmark and shop there! I assure you they will not rip you off or be rude like the ladies here! Shame on you Jan!

The books they have are not just the trending books they are targeted books from so many different angles. Spiritual growth, books on autism, community, culture and so much more. One is more of a wide variety but more modern, Tree house focuses more on kids and young adults, the Book Exchange is more like a library with collections, older , modern, categorized etc. this is a wonderful thing because you can't help but go through all of them. Treehouse does have a wide selection but over all vibe is bring your kids in and there is a flavor of literature for everyone. They are price very well and I was even able to get a replica ring of THE ONE RING ... TO RULE THEM ALL lol . Treehouse is a wonderful spot so don't pass it up.

During a road trip to Portland, my wife & I stopped in Ashland for a day.  While walking around…read moredowntown, we found this lovely children's bookstore.  Housed in a former bank, the staff here have crammed children's books, toys, games and other trinkets in every nook and cranny of the place, including inside the bank vault in the back of the store.  They have optimized the small space, offering the inventory of a much larger store.  Despite the vast number of titles available, the store is very clean and well organized.  The staff are also very helpful and were willing to answer all of our questions.  This is a must stop for us the next time we visit Ashland!

The amazing librarians or book hosts were amazing and sweet. They answered any questions we had and it was very much appreciated. Also they allow dogs inside so if your dog is well mannered then bring them along and see if they want to get a book too. Their books are amazingly organized and you can find what you're looking for from kids, educative, cooking , horror, fantasy allAt wonderful pricing. They have places for you to sit and read and the cafe is amazing. Overall you can't go wrong.

When our kids were little Santa left books at the foot of the bed so they could unwrap and stay in bed and read until it was at least 7am. Well, 20 and 22 and we're still doing it. I needed a couple of recommendations and could not have been happier to have help from the staff. Kind, knowledgeable and chock full of fantastic ideas. What I thought would be me meandering the aisles for hours (not that I don't love to do that, I just couldn't today) turned into a quick amazing process. If I could give 10 I would.
