This is a chicken place that is somewhere between fast food and fast casual. This review is for the drive through. I drove through after 1PM on a Sunday. There was only one window open, and the drive thru was definitely not moving quickly. I got the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich meal. The meal was served in a long rectangular box with the fries and sandwich packaged together. The sandwich was not wrapped separately, although that wasn't a big deal. The fries were average. Not very crispy, not as thin as McD fries, no noticeable potato skin like Wendy's. But fine filler. The sandwich was okay but nothing to drive out of my way for. The chicken tenders were a little stringy and dry. The ranch sauce was fine. The veggies were tasteless. The pickles were good. All in all, it was a fine sandwich for a fast food place, but if I was expecting more of a fast casual meal, I'd be disappointed. All in all, I spent about the same in the drive thru as I would at any fast food chain, and I didn't have to get out of my car, which was a plus after spending a weekend at a soccer tournament. Two stars is the best I could do. The chicken tenders are small, they were not tender, they were tough, and they tasted like they were cooked in old oil. They didn't taste like the breading had any seasoning. Tasted like plain flour. Thin breading. Their problem is that they have tough competition with chicken. Especially Chick Fil A. So many places have figured out how to do good chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches now, and these guys are no where near the competition. This is a place that is known for their chicken AND a chain restaurant. Is there no quality control? Second, the thing I was most excited about was the Slim chickens sauce. Idk if the person making sauces for that day was drunk or missing taste buds but it was so bland it's only good for helping you choke down the dry chicken. I had the Buffalo Ranch chicken sandwich with fries. It was pretty good but the chicken breast was on the thin side. I don't know if it's because it's "natural" or if it just wasn't my lucky day. The same thing happens when I eat at chick-fil-a from time to time so I'm not going to knock them for it. Their fries were pretty good & so was their Cajun ranch sauce. On a business trip I always ask everyone I meet where the best place to go eat around town is. I was recommended to go to Slim Chickens and I was very pleased, the food, service, atmosphere and everything was on point. There was a short line, but the staff was very proficient at taking orders and moving people along. We didn't wait very long for our food. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich. The bun was nicely toasted, not burnt and the seasoning had a punch to it but not overpowering. Lettuce was crispy, pickles were lovely, and overall one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had since coming to Florida. I would recommend this for anyone traveling through the area. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll likely come back tomorrow on my last work day to have lunch there again. My wife also approved of the plans for tomorrow. read more

The pickles were super salty - I like salt, but they were just too much (not uncommon with fried pickles). I ended up eating a few, and saving the rest for later. Also worth noting, they were super crispy! I really enjoyed the texture of them. The wrap and fries were good. I asked for a salad to be topped with fried chicken tossed in their mango habanero sauce. The salad was big and very filling. They had a generous portion of chicken on top. Leaving this so I know not to return. This was my second visit, first was 6+ mo ago. What an overpriced crock. $13 for 5 tenders that all easily fit in the palm of my hand. They also rang my order wrong and weren't able to correct it because " once it's entered they can't change it". I didn't pay at that point and in hindsight should have just walked out and let them deal with their own problem. Milkshake is just a cup of icecream with a big straw, if that's your thing. Opening Day of the New Slim Chickens! Here within minutes of opening to avoid the rush. Within an hour there was a line out the door. $22 provided enough food for me and my the husband. We got the 5 and 5 wings and tenders. We got 3 dipping sauces: ranch, blue cheese and slim sauce. All of it was fresh and flavorful. It came with one side and a drink so we added a second drink and a second side. The sweet chili sauce on the wings was sweet with just a hint of heat. The cook on the wings and fried pickles in my opinion could be a little harder but for most people it would be good. The tenders batter had good flavor but not over powerful. The potato salad was fresh and not a mustard- based just a mayo and slightly smoky flavor. Definitely will be back to try some other options. read more

I've been wanting to try this place out for sometime now, and finally decided to eat here. Immediately the place was spotless, super clean. The staff was very friendly. It was our first time and we were still looking at the menu and there was no rush to pick something out. The food was fantastic. Our kids loved the chicken mac & cheese and french fries. We got the regular chicken sandwich meal deal which came with fries and a drink. They have lots of chicken options as well as sides and salads. The chicken is crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside. The fries are thin and salted just right. You get your own drink with a full selection of coke product and fresh made ice tea (sweet and unsweet). They have indoor and outdoor seating. If there is a line, don't worry because it moves fast. They do a good job of getting the food out fast. We will absolutely be back to try some of the other sandwiches. read more

The chicken was very good, as well as the fries. The mac and cheese was delicious! Some meals came with a piece of garlic toast, it was more like bread because it was a bit cold and soggy, but the taste was okay. We were also a little surprised with the prices - wasn't expected to spend $60 on a drive thru lunch, but again, the food was good. They didn't give us all of our drinks, missed a soda and tried to question us on it, but ended up handing us a soda in the end (wrong flavor but we wanted to get back on the road after a long weekend away). The real reason it's a 3-star review is YOU HAVE TO CHECK YOUR ORDER. Every time we leave this place the order is wrong. I have been the only person in the drive-thru and my order was still wrong. We got a ton of wings to watch a sporting event and they gave us the wrong chicken and no sauces. The sauces you have to pay for individually. I was shorted like $12 worth of sauce.
