The waitress quickly cleared a booth table for us, she was efficient, friendly and always has smile on her face Friend said their wings are to die for, but I had a blackened shrimp and avocado salad. I really like this place because of the nice customer service from the moment you walk in you are greeted by the host. Then once you're seated, whether it be in the bar area or at a table or booth the servers warmly greet you and check in with you throughout your stay. There's many options on the menu. I highly recommend you check out the lunch options. Our party was not disappointed from a personal pizza to the sandwiches to the salads. Everything was absolutely fantastic. As for take out, all the way. Order for pick up or delivery (through a third party) and all is great. Parking is a pain, but food makes up for it. As for dine in... No. On our first visit it was slow. Not busy slow, but maybe they were extremely short staffed slow. It happens. We get it. We will try again. On our second attempt at dine in, we were told a 10-15 min wait. After 25 mins and parties being sat right away from coming, we asked about how much longer. Our name was crossed off the list and the host told us we were called but didn't respond. As we were standing by the host stand, we told her we never heard her call us. Then, out of the blue, the host stared speaking with a "horse" voice, very low and soft. Telling us she was sick recently so we must not have heard her. Yeah, sure. Let's start this review with the ambiance, cool comfortable pizza/sports bar feel. Nice place to bring the family if you're looking for low key pizza and wing spot. We ordered a chicken wing dip appetizer which was really tasty and yes I look forward to ordering it again in the future. I ordered the meat lovers Stromboli and I need to try something else next time (it was dry & needed a very large side of sauce to help), our friend ordered the BBQ wings which were a hit at the table and the other guest had the crispy chicken sandwich and he stated it was not the best he ever had but respectable. The waiter was a pretty decent young man and tried to help us with picking items from the menu. As far as the wait time, wasn't the fastest, but not bad. Is this a dive bar? Possibly. Do they have great food? Definitely. Every time we have come we always have a great experience.. Danny the server is awesome and has a great personality and knows the menu like the back of his hand. The menu is quite diverse offering anything from Mexican options to the obvious pizza, calzones, etc. that you'd expect. What would have been a good dining experience otherwise turned out terribly. Our waitress was one of the worst we've ever had anywhere, hands down. No energy, not interested, cared instead about a game being played on a board, made us wait forever for everything and definitely in no hurry about anything. The service by her was the worst and it ruined the entire lunch for us. There may have been a total of 8 people in the pub, so it wasn't like she was overwhelmed with orders. She upcharged our bill and did not correct that though it was brought to her attention - her response was "oh well, sorry about that". Massive disappointment. I am not sure how this place was so busy. To say it was awful would be an understatement. It smelled like fried food, which makes sense, right? There is a lot of fried stuff on the menu. Fine. But it smelled like OLD fried food. It is what it is ... a pizza & wings place, with burgers, and tacos, and salads, and soup, and none of it was good. Wings? Overcooked Fried chicken "slammer"? Slimy under the crisp & it had onions after I said "no onions". BLT "slammer"? Bacon was off. It smelled very unpleasant. House Margarita? Tasted like it was a cheap mix. On the plus side? The fries were crispy & salty & hot. Everything else was a step below terrible. Thumbs down. I do not recommend. Been coming here for 9+ years, and a good amount of the staff here has been there that long or longer. Think that speaks volumes. This isn't gourmet of course; just your local, consistently good neighborhood place to get a pizza/wings/salad/burger and so forth with a friendly staff at pretty reasonable prices. The Calypso wings are worth a try for sure as are all their wings. Pizzas are good as well. Usually has a pretty good/varied beer menu as well. It is nice to have a family friendly spot with great food and a hard working team providing service. I love their wings. Currently out of town for a business trip. My significant other let me know she had ordered pizza and wings and also got a bonus of garlic knots. She called me excited, but also saying she was sorry that she was eating it without me lol, since we were looking forward to experiencing it together. I got a text a little bit later saying that the driver had forgotten the garlic knots but not to worry about it. me being out of town, I did just the opposite. simply just called to make sure it wasn't on the driver because sometimes it's the driver that forgets something and sometimes it's the establishment. want to make sure both are taken care of. when they get on the phone, they explain that this had been an issue a few times today being that it was a promo through the delivery platform. I simply said it was all good, just wanted to make sure it wasn't the driver that dropped the ball and said they weren't just sitting in their seat. They not only refused to let it be that, they said they would pop them in the oven, and drive them to her house. Absolutely not necessary. Not only did they personally drive them to our house, they dropped off a $10 gift card and personally apologized. neither of these things were asked for. but it's things like this that businesses these days forget about. and they could have easily blamed the driver. long drawn out review. but this just shows how absolutely amazing and important their customer service is. now for the food. absolutely amazing. The wings were some of the best we've had in a very long time. we've been missing our big flavorful Taco Mac wings ever since moving from Atlanta. these were better than that! Bold Rock Hard Cider, cold and filled to the top! Nice Tried the house favorite, Wolves Wings - a cajun dry rub wing. Seemed baked (slightly chard but I overcame it). Very tasty, crisp and friggin HOT!! coming from NY/NJ area, I'm always skeptical about pizza...yeh Connecticut, I am! Although not like home, it was very good. Ugh Wolves head!!! We love love love this place. We've lived here for years and this is a frequent family spot for us and our parents. My parents probably eat lunch there once a week and my husband and I monthly. Their wings and pizza is great and they have an awesome soup and salad or half a sandwich deal that we do quite often and are never disappointed. They always have local beers on tap and their appetizers are huge portions. Could honestly eat them as a meal! Our favorite is the friend zucchini but we have tried a little bit of everything. ( pictured below). My personal favorite meal here is the Buffalo blue Cleese salad with chicken. It's fantastic. Can't say enough good things about the service. When we first moved here it was hard to get in , always a wait. I think the new sports bars around have helped with that but they're still busy on the weekends. Food is very good for a pub style restaurant. Being from Chicago, the pizza is very good. Close to what we would get in Chicago. Not cray about the sliced sausage as we prefer nice balks of Italian sausage. Other menu items are very good. The place can get loud on the weekends or even whenever live sports are on as there are tv screens everywhere. Nice lively place if you are into sports. We carried out once and ate in a few other times. My only complaint was when we carried out. We were promised or food by 5:34 but did not receive it until 5:55. We had to wait around for it. read more
