They have been in business for over 20 years and all their artists are professionally licensed. You can make an appointment or walk in. I was a walk in and I was helped by Marisa and Nicolette. They were both friendly and helpful. The vibe of the business was very relaxed. I picked out my new hoop, had it placed in my ear and was out the door in about thirty minutes. Total cost was $80 as I selected a gold hoop for my ear. I was pleased with my purchase and service and would return here for future piercings.

My daughter wanted to get her ears pierced for her birthday, and her experience with Chavez was so positive that it truly made for a memorable day and I could not be more grateful! We stopped by the shop a few weeks ahead of her birthday and he was more than willing to talk us both through the process, show us around the shop, and answer any questions we had. The shop, which I understood to be currently in a temporary location, was extremely clean and well organized, despite a lack of signage/branding and decor. I'd rather go somewhere sparsely decorated than overrun with clutter anyway! Chavez was so patient and kind, entertaining an onslaught of questions from an inquisitive kid, and it was no different when we came back for the piercing a few weeks later. He again explained the process, let her watch the equipment be sterilized, and when she expressed that she was feeling scared, he reminded her that no one would be pressuring her into doing anything she didn't want to do. The amount of preparation and affirmative consent he got from her was honestly more than most healthcare settings and an amazing example of being client-centered. Her piercing looks great and is healing really well. I highly recommend Chavez and SLO Piercing for kids and adults alike! read more

I took my 9 year old to get her ears pierced here because I didn't want to put her through the cheesy double gun, wake up 2 days later to goopy green ear puss and inflammation experience that goes with those flimsy plastic piercing guns. And I'm so glad I found Chavez and Slo Piercing, because he provided a clean, quick, and amazing experience for my daughter. Everything was so sterile, and he was so meticulous with keeping everything light and not scary by explaining what he was doing and showing her exactly what was happening. She was a little nervous, but his calm nature kept her cool. And the needle he used was so sharp she hardly knew it had happened, so it really didn't make having to do one ear at a time a big deal. I haven't gotten pierced in awhile since I moved because he is really one of the only piercers I feel comfortable going to. He's done my belly button, tragus, lobes, nose, and a bunch of other ear piercings. Everything is sanitary, he's incredibly professional and I always leave feeling confident that it was done properly and knowledgeable about how to take care of it. Every appointment with Chavez is nothing short of five star service. He is honest, knowledgeable, and sells me the best jewelry I've ever had in my nose. He is easy to communicate with and took care of any concerns I had. He really cares about his clients and is doing everything within reason to help them despite the pandemic. Came down in January to visit my boyfriend and impulsively wanted a piercing, I then ended up getting two once I saw the jewelry on the website, I requested an appointment and was able to get in that day. Took no more than 20 minutes, everything was so clean and high quality. The jewelry is a little on the higher end of prices but definitely worth it. I went to Chavez to get pierced during college for the first time and I won't get pierced by anyone else. He had done my belly button 2x, two forward helix, three normal helix, and three lobe piercings for me. His jewelry can be pricey but it's gorgeous and high quality--you absolutely get what you pay for. I have been to SLO Piercing 4 times now to get pierced or get my earrings changed. Chavez is very knowledgable at what he does and is the only piercer on the Central Coast I will go to. He decided he wanted to draw it on, rather than using the flash, so it would fit the spot we were putting it in better. From start to finish it took a little over an hour. Woods was so nice and professional. The other two guys there were helping other customers as they came in. Also super nice and helpful. The shop is beautiful, with tons of natural lighting. This is by far one of the best shops I've been to in the many years I've been getting tattooed. 100% plan on making my way from the bay to get another tattoo from the guys here again.

I was offered water and instructed to " have a seat so we can put some numbing cream on you." Awesome!!! I was supper happy about that. I thought it was gonna be like any other tattoo. Suck it up! They didn't work for me. The countless products to fill in the spot were barely acceptable but all top of the line.
