Less that an hour later, I spoke with the front desk to inform them TaterTots Meds were ready to be picked up from the pharmacy and I no longer needed the antibiotic Dr. Wehrli had offered to prepare for me but I was currently on my way to pick up the other 2 items. The man I spoke with reminded me that they closed at 1pm that day and I said I will be there, driving there now. I arrived to the door at 1:02pm... doors locked, no lights and no movement. I even went around back and knocked on that door searching for some one to answer. I called several time and was put straight through to answering machine. This was 22 minutes after I had called and spoken to him (front desk). I was able to start Tater Tot on his 2nd round on antibiotics that afternoon after picking up from the compounding pharmacy. However he didnt get his critical care food suppliment until a day later because of having to order on Amazon. Tater Tot pasted away on 6/1/25... to date, no response to my email or signs of comdolances to our loss have been received by Family Pet Veterinarain. .... However, the last experience I had with the non-veterinary staff has been so bad that I am making the decision to stop taking my pets to Bond altogether. I called Bond Bethesda to ask for an extention of my diabetic cat's insulin prescription that was issued several months ago by a Bond veterinarian, who has since left. I spoke to an employee named Carl, who was unable to find the record of that prescription. I will repeat this, so it's clear : BOND CANNOT FIND ITS OWN RECORD OF ITS PATIENT'S INSULIN PRESCRIPTION. Carl insisted that since there's no record, the whole evaluation will have to start from scratch. I told him that I have a text message record of this prescription having been submitted to the pharmacy by the vet, and the pharmacy has a copy of this prescription on file. No, no, no: too much work and mental effort to find and restore the record, just bring the cat back and we'll start all over. I asked to speak to the manager. She has left for today but will call me tomorrow "first thing." She never called. Being "in a meeting" was one of the excuses given. Do they actually think these excuses are believable? I requested a call from someone above the Bethesda manager and got it two days later after multiple text messages and phone calls. . Bond Vet markets itself as a "primary and urgent" care facility. An urgent care facility that doesn't have a manager available during business hours? At either the local level or above? Really? When I asked Carl and later the helpline employee for the relevant contact info, neither had "access to it." Lovely! The so-called urgent clinic is open, seeing patients and charging fees reflecting its urgent care specialisation, but no one is available to resolve an urgent situation. One of the headquarters helpline employees said that in urgent situations "we advise you to go to the ER." She also said Bond employees "have their own lives to live" Really? All of them at once during the business hours? So much for the "urgent" aspect of Bond care. It's only urgent in the sense that its clinics have extended hours. If there's a problem to be solved, it will be handled on a very non-urgent basis. If at all. I will no longer give Bond any of my business. I will not be rewarding people whose attitudes, aptitudes, and behaviors I perceive as those of a bunch of unintelligent lazy crooks, or money grabbing hoodlums, who have no regard for the client or the patient. I will file a complaint and will ask the veterinary board to force them to restore my cat's records. Very unfortunate. Not very smart on their part. I also see that they have lots of complaints about their shananigans from other former clients. I will report my experience to the Better Business Bureau as well.

Despite being advised to go to the ER, I declined knowing that would only lead to the ultimate outcome with trauma, and not the compassion, kindness, and skill I have learned in these situations, Alpine, and in particular, Dr. Reidelbach, do so well. Although she was not in until later in the day, Dr. Sartain fit me in and told me what I did not want to hear, but did it well and with compassion. Much of the afternoon was spent in my sunlit warm car with Finn on my lap, as he was made comfortable. I was grateful Dr. Reidelbach did arrive, as we have been through 3 other losses in the same years. She went above and beyond, but that is what I have grown to respect ..attunement to the situation, solid knowledge base, compassion, empathy. Simply bending to the situation that presents with the goal of the best outcome for all the focus. She delivered. The day will always be remembered with sadness as Finn was my heart, but she understood this, which will envelop the memory with the golden hue the sun delivered through the skylight on us all.

Our cat came back looking as though he'd been through a horror show, and we are livid. Bruises All Over from "Gentle Grooming" (we have pictures) Our cat was a long hair that we asked to have their fur taken down to that of a short hair cat. What was unforgivable were the purple, fingerprint-shaped bruises scattered across his body. When we first saw those marks, we were horrified and confused: bruises? How could regular grooming leave deep purple handprints on our pet? We immediately took him to the vet, who confirmed they were bruises--plain and simple. This was not a sleepy "heavier-handed" brushing; these were bruises from someone handling him roughly enough to leave real-live finger marks. Cuts, Cuts, and More Cuts If bruises weren't appalling enough, the groomer also managed to slice our cat multiple times with her clippers or scissors. These weren't tiny nicks; we could plainly see irritated, bleeding slashes in his skin where she obviously rushed or mishandled the tools. We've taken our cat to other groomers before--no one else in their right mind inflicts this kind of damage on a healthy, cooperative animal. Our Once-Happy Cat Was a Panicked, Hissing Mess Our normally sweet, affectionate cat came home terrified, his personality completely altered. He hissed at us--his own family--cowered in corners, and spent hours hiding under furniture, trembling. He refused to engage with any of his favorite toys or treats. He was in a full panic. Whatever "technique" this groomer used traumatized him beyond belief. Quite frankly, it felt like we picked up a stranger from the shop--an anxious, broken version of the cat we dropped off that morning. Pushing an Unreasonable Subscription Plan Instead of acknowledging their horrific performance, the groomer had the gall to pitch us a subscription plan--a monthly grooming plan--for an outrageous fee. They tried to convince us that our cat "needed" this routine maintenance. Are you kidding? After the physical and emotional trauma their so-called "service" inflicted, the last thing we want is to trust them near our cat again. This pushy upsell felt downright predatory: gouging a raw deal to "maintain" a pet they'd already harmed. Final Verdict: Avoid This Place at All Costs If you love your animal, do not, under any circumstances, take them here. I'm seething that we even gave them a chance. Every parent of a cat knows that trust and safety come first. This groomer not only violated that trust but injured our cat both physically and mentally. They clearly lack basic compassion, competence, or respect for the creatures they claim to care for. Save yourself--and your pet--from this horror. I would have been content with a(n early), "Hi, we're really sorry but [insert reason here: your dog is getting too big, your dog in a pain in the hindquarters, you don't tip well enough, your dog is too much work, we're simply too busy, etc] and we're not going to be able to schedule and tend to your pup the way we would like" but no such luck. Just leaving us hanging with a perpetual promise to get back to us regarding availability was terribly odd and unprofessional. Really a shame because we enjoyed supporting this small local business and were very fond of their team. Silver lining: After a bit of work, we've found good service elsewhere. This was, without question, the worst experience we've ever had leaving our dog in someone else's…read morecare. We booked the Luxury Suite for our 2-year-old corgi for two nights (about $285). It was advertised to include three potty breaks a day, six hours of daycare, a complimentary bath, and 24/7 camera access. Ironically, the only thing we actually received was the camera. Instead of giving us peace of mind during our vacation, it became a live stream of our dog struggling. The first red flag came at drop-off. A young staff member immediately tried to force a thin slip lead over our dog's neck and started pulling before giving him any chance to get comfortable. He choked and panicked. Looking back, we should have trusted our instincts and walked out. Our corgi has been leash-trained since he was a puppy. He's been to groomers, veterinary hospitals, dog sitters, and other boarding facilities without anyone ever saying he couldn't be safely handled. Later, we were told the staff didn't want to leash or touch him because they were worried about getting bitten. Because of that, he wasn't taken outside for potty breaks, didn't go to daycare, and spent almost the entire two days alone in his "Luxury Suite." Our dog is fully potty trained and will hold it for as long as he can. But when no one takes him outside, eventually he has no choice. He ended up peeing and pooping in the room and was left sitting in it. Watching the camera was heartbreaking. Throughout our trip, we repeatedly checked the live feed and kept seeing him alone--standing or lying by the door for hours. Corgis are active, social dogs that need exercise and interaction. Knowing we were hundreds of miles away and couldn't help him completely ruined our vacation. When we picked him up, he had urine and feces on his legs and body. He was clearly stressed, had lost almost a pound in just two days, appeared dehydrated, and later developed stomach problems. What hurts the most is that nobody called us. If they truly believed they couldn't safely care for our dog, why didn't they tell us? We would have turned around immediately or found another place for him. Instead, they simply stopped providing the services we paid for and still charged us the full price. We were also promised a call from a supervisor on Monday. That call never came. Their website says, "We're more than just a boarding facility; we're a luxury retreat for your dog... give your pet the vacation they deserve." After what we witnessed, those words feel painfully ironic. The camera was supposed to give us peace of mind. Instead, we spent our vacation watching our dog alone in his room for hours through Canine Clubhouse's own camera system. We've preserved the complete camera footage from his stay and stand behind every statement in this review. If Canine Clubhouse believes our account is inaccurate, we welcome them to share the relevant footage or any other evidence publicly. We genuinely hope no other family has to experience what we--and more importantly, our dog--went through.
