Awesome little shop full of chocolates and bulk candies as well as taffy in many flavors. It's a bit on the pricey side, e.g. $7 for a very small black of 85% dark chocolate--when I could get an entire bar of a comparable chocolate bar at many many other places, e.g. super markets. Maybe this is touristy because the place, especially when the weather is nice, definitely has that vibe, you know when people are on a day trip or on vacation and don't think twice about splurging on something they ordinarily wouldn't buy? Despite the prices, it's a fun and worthwhile venture to enter and maybe get a treat.

My friends and I went on a walk... we went from Redwood City to Half Moon Bay. Sure it was a 20+ mile walk, but it was fun! We stopped by Small Town as a celebratory exploration of our end point city of Half Moon Bay. Located in the Downtown area, this shop is so cute and offers a lot of unique delectables that we have not seen before. The space is wonderful to meander and just take in all the different treats. Dill pickle cotton candy and a huge selection of truffles and bon bons, among other delectables. This is a must see place to explore. Street and lot parking in the downtown area. Casual. Good service. Please come and create your own adventure.

This is hands down my mom's favorite dessert shop, and honestly, I think she'd be heartbroken if it ever closed. She is obsessed with the dark chocolate candied orange peel slices--they're made with real fruit, dipped in rich dark chocolate, and she raves about them to anyone who will listen. Beyond the sweets, the shop itself is so welcoming and full of charm. The storeowner is incredibly kind and always remembers my mom when she comes in, which means so much to her. She gives great recommendations and makes the whole experience feel personal and warm--like the best kind of small town gem. It's exactly the kind of local business that deserves support: high-quality treats, kind people, and a sense of community. If you're in Half Moon Bay and have a sweet tooth (or a mom like mine), this place is a must-visit.

They didn't have anything I was looking for and I wish they sold individual chocolates, but the lady was nice, the store was clean and organized. A good candy store that's like an upscale grocery aisle.

The "old school" chocolates ala Ice Cubes (who has those anymore??) are alone the price of admission, never mind the dark chocolate Oreo's and snicker bars. It's a place you have to go back to because there's more you wanted the first time!!!

Where's the six-star choice? I'm an unashamed candy lover. Been that way since I was able to crawl. Some call me a diabetic in training. A friend let me know that a new candy shop had opened in Half Moon Bay just across from Johnny's, which was Main Street Grill. I photographed Bill, the owner of MSG, so I have a soft spot for that location. Anyway, I went into Small Town Sweets, and this sweet young woman was there. I later found out that her name is Jazmin. Because I had ridden my motorcycle to HMB, her expression seemed a bit suspicious of me. Apparently, us motorcycle types 'look' suspicious. But as soon as I asked her questions about candy, her demeanor was super friendly and engaging. She recommended some malted milk balls, locally made English toffee with pistachios, and some sugar treats. I bought them all! I am SO HAPPY to have discovered STS, as well as meeting Audrey and Jazmin. Always a fantastic experience going into their shop.

Absolutely adorable candy shop! We had a great conversation with the lady who work there, might be the owner, about where she sources her different candies. She made recommendations, I was very happy, once I got home I wish I had bought triple the amount! Don't have candy regret, just buy it. I will be back soon lol.

Cute little store with lots of different selections of candy. Prices are very reasonable too. Kids and adults had a blast looking at the candies, walked out with about $40 worth of candy between the 5 of us. Everyone was on a sugar high after the visit. Must stop when here.

My son and I have gone to both the old location and the new, more spacious one. Both times, the owner and teenage male employee were helpful and friendly. My eight-year old had a million questions about everything, and the owner was so patient with him and treated him like a little adult. She even gave him a sticker before we left :-) The candy is incredibly tasty, beautifully packaged, and reasonably priced. Don't miss Fudge Fridays with homemade fudge!

My husband and I stopped by over the weekend and the shop is so adorable!! They have that old fashion, small town vibe with an assortment of classic candies (various gummies, salt water taffies, lots of chocolate, etc.) The new location they have is a good size and their candies are solid!! I would say their gummies and licorice notably shine. It was also our first time and we met the owner Audrey, who was so welcoming, friendly and overall very delightful. We will be back whenever we have any sweet tooth cravings!!

This store has been a favorite of mine for years. Every time I'm in HMB I make sure to stop in and grab some delicious treats. I love the new location! The bigger space has allowed them to expand the variety of candy they carry. There are many candies in there I haven't seen since I was a kid adding to the nostalgia. The customer service has always been excellent! This is a must stop if you are in town. Last time I was in was over the 4th of July weekend. It was great to see how busy they were and how well they handled it with a line out the door. Always an enjoyable experience! read more

The variety of candy is awesome! The taffy, the chocolate, the sour candies/gummies all delicious. The chocolate is great quality, I got the dark chocolate caramels, caramel marshmallows, malt balls all amazing! Making another 5 star review! Me & my husband love this place. Great new & BIGGER STORE the owner Audrey is so happy & we are for her too. Picked up Granny Smith Carmel & Chocolate candy apple. It's so tasty & on Friday is homemade fudge! Bring your family & especially kids. You all will not be disappointed. We come from San Francisco once or twice a week. Ask what's new in the store. These always something fore everyone. They even have a specialty dog treat area. My little dog Violett loves there treats there. Happy October and hit up the Pumpkin patches to there. read more

Great selection. I splurged on a variety of candy including some milk chocolates with peanut butter in the center. I don't eat a lot of chocolate and can be really picky about them, but these were just amazing. I will definitely be heading back. Also, the owner of the shop was very friendly :) read more

Fun little candy store in downtown Half Moon Bay. We tried a coffee truffle that was delicious and when the owner asked if I was looking for anything specific I happened to ask about crunchy gummy bears and to my surprise, she had them! This is a great little candy shop in the heart of downtown Half Moon Bay. We tried about 5 different bags of things. Sadly the peanut brittle AND the english toffee both were either stale or just not made correctly as they were both way too soft and tasted a little off so we tossed both of those :( The rest was tasty and the owner was really super nice! read more

What a wonderful little shop. The woman who owns this place is delightful and has set up a shelf of #vegan items since many people come in and ask "What's vegan?" Love how accommodating she is. I loved the sour sweetish fish, gelatin-free. read more

I love this shop! Perfect way to finish off a day at the beach nearby or a meal on Main Street. The woman who runs the place is super nice, and the shop is just oh so nostalgic. It's a small, white, candy store that has rare candies that you mostly can't buy anywhere else, like bit-o-honey, chick o stick, sixlets, gold mine nuggets, and more. She hand makes fudge every Friday, and still has modern gummy candies like sour patch and also pop rocks. Pretty much everything!! Definitely recommend to anyone!! read more

We finally have a candy store on Main Street I'm so excited! Feels like an old fashioned candy shop, and they have an assortment of different treats. So much fun! My 8 year old enjoyed choosing special candies, and I was excited to have her practice her math skills. There's a section with traditional "penny" style treats that will really make the adults nostalgic. The owner was especially sweet and very friendly. We will definitely be back! read more
