At first, I thought this place was good and I was happy. Then I came back for my kids six month checkup and was told that my child needed oral surgery. I went and got a second opinion and was told by the oral surgeon that the initial dentist apparently was an imbecile and that the oral surgery was unnecessary. "They are quick to cut " his exact words. The oral surgeon that we went to second opinion has been in practice for over 35 years and specializes in tongue ties. All they're looking to do is milk your insurance this particular dentist is full of shit. Be careful. read more

The medical staff were great, attentive, and kind. Unfortunately, my experience was ruined by the front desk receptionist, who is the reason I am never going back. My appointment was on 11/13/2025 at 10:30, and after my daughter was seen by the doctor, I went to the front desk to ask if I had to do anything else besides filling out the form, but instead of answering me, she waved her hand aggressively to show me to move out of the way. I moved, and I waited for her to finish checking in everyone in the line, and I asked again, and her response was "you sit." I took a seat and waited, and I watched her talk to her coworkers instead of helping. I waited for some time and I asked her again, then she told me, "yeah, you can leave." To be honest, I believe that behavior is not only degrading but also discriminatory. I will find a way to submit a complaint to a government agency, because people shouldn't be treated like that. I noticed you have cameras in there use them to monitor the behavior of your employees. read more

I had an appointment today with my son. We got there 1:30 we sat there for two hours 30 minutes was not seen by anyone or dental hygienist.They took 6 people that came after me. There was no explanation from the staff. I asked them they said the doctor or dentists only takes who they want to see first to me that was not really nice. To see people who I came there before them not one or two but 6 people. so I left. I'm disappointed. The staff need to do better. read more

The girls receptionist are prejudice. I was sitting there listening to the appointments giving out and if it was a white person or one that looked like they had money they got fairly quick appointments. But if you had that they really didn't like or you being a minority and they know you didn't really have money because of your insurance type they give you an appointment four to five months later just for a simple preventative procedure. Well, I got angry about this, and I slammed my hand on the counter, and I cursed at them when I told them what I saw and felt, and they decided to refuse services to my grandson any longer. They'd rather take out there pettiness and not act professional in the long run on a child. And not notify me that they canceled his appointment when this happened but waited four months until the day of the appointment three hours earlier. The reception like are prejudice, if you do not have a good insurance to them you are not worth anything. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

When the assistant? took us to the room, she started checking my daughter's teeth. Then she used a little brush to brush her teeth and counted the teeth. After a while, the dentist came to check her teeth for like 2 second and that was it. As he was checking her teeth, the assistant put fluoride on her teeth. They charged $30 for oral evaluations, $45 for prophylaxis, $49 for fluoride. This dentist is a participating dentist for my union, but why do I still need to pay $49 for this visit when it should be $15 for UFT/ Cigna? It's such a rip off especially when the dentist didn't clean her teeth. I'm so disappointed in this place. Never going back again. read more

My kids used to love coming here, now both are traumatized, the staff shoved the drill and made my son vomit all-over and polished my kids with SDF & Stained both there faces. I switched to Small World Dental for my 10 year old this past year after being referred by a few friends and boy am I happy I made the switch! They are super friendly and help to put my child at ease. He will require a decent amount of work in the near future and I'm confident that he's in good hands. I've been to other practices where my children never even saw the dentist; however, at Small World, we have seen Dr. Sinha for each visit, even when scheduled for just a cleaning. He has a kind demeanor and is great with both the parents and the patients. We have also had the pleasure of having Ms. Gill clean my son's teeth each time and she is so patient with him and explains things to him where nobody else has ever taken the time to do. Today 1/12/2023 I had a 1:45pm appointment, 2:10pm I walked out due to people with later appointments going in before my child. If you truly want to be lied to then this is ur place. the doctor is so professional and so welcoming but the staff are horrendous. the doctor requested i go to an oral surgeon for my jaw that keeps shifting. its been 4 MONTHS since i tried calling the dentist. today was the last straw. i called in regarding the same problem and they immediately left me on hold and then ended the call. again i called back and stated the issue she didn't even say "please hold" she knew it was me again and let me alone. Words can not express how truly grateful we are for Dr.Joe and his absolute amazing staff!! This summer my daughter Marianne not only had to have a baby root canal done but she also had to have 4 teeth pulled. She was beyond nervous and scared, the minute she met Dr.Joe, she instantly felt better and most importantly SAFE! He took a true interest in her and got to know her, this made her feel 100% ok with being at the dentist! He was truly amazing with her, he showed her every tool he was going to use and exactly what to expect! I called this office multiple times to schedule an appointment for my child every time I called and they picked up I was treated super bad, rude receptionist, when I came for my appointment the receptionist was even ruder in person and thought she knew everything... girl please you're a receptionist not a doctor please stick to your low income position, you wannabe dentist. If you really wanted to become one I suggest you quit your low income position and go to school and do some thing with your life. We switched over to Small World about 2 years ago, from another pediatric dentist we had been going to. You will not find a dentist with better bedside manner than Small World. This staff is not only amazing with all of my kids, but in particular my son who has autism. He does not do well at all with having anyone touch his face, mouth, etc. but Dr. Sinha is so good with him even when my son is forcefully restraining him. Our old dentist put my son under anesthesia because they could not work on him. Dr. Sinha assured me that this was not necessary and was able to work on him. We were so happy! Again, not just the dentists, the entire staff is very caring towards the children. I recommend them to all of my friends, and even more so to my fellow special needs parents! . read more

I would like to start by stating I have loved Small World Dental for about 3 years now. My daughter has had dental work performed by Dr. Mike, Dr. Sinha, and now Dr. Joe, and I highly recommend them all, as well as Dr. Barnes if anesthesia is needed. My oldest daughter has an anxiety disorder. I myself was not raised with routine dental cleanings, but luckily blessed with "good teeth" and have never had a cavity, or any dental work. Around my daughter turning 6 it occurred to me she should visit the dentist, being she was getting in grown up teeth, and to get her used to going for routine cleanings. Of course in the time we waited for our appointment with a local family dentist, she developed an infection as a result of a cavity, and this added much more stress on the upcoming appointment. The staff was unable to even get an x ray. I went home and spent all night crying while trying to find another dentist, a pediatric dentist who could see us quickly, and help her. We somehow found Small World Dental (yellow pages maybe), and the next morning she got her x ray and exam, and we scheduled her root canal and tooth extractions for a few weeks later so the infection could clear. This was performed quickly and successfully but was a taxing experience for all. The following year more "emergency work" was needed and we scheduled for her to be put out by the anesthesiologist, and she was able to have all of her dental needs addressed while she slept and dreamt in the secure walls of Small World Dental. She had a few appointments to follow with the implementation of a spacer, all which always caused her anxiety to flare up. Well this Monday I am proud to say that she, as well and her 5 year old sister, had their very first successful stress free dentist appointment (little one's first appointment ever). There were no infections, there were no new cavities or problems found. They got x rayed and got cleanings, and left smiling (we had a few tears but that was more from the release a child with pent up anxiety experiences when they feel relief). They are excited to return for their next cleaning. They are excited to floss. They are proud of themselves. I cannot thank Dr. Joe, and Allison, who worked with the girls that day, enough. Allison even taught my older daughter some calming techniques. My eyes tear as I type this. I am grateful to have found Small World Dental. Thank you, for legitimately specializing in children, and changing my daughters' lives. read more

It took me 6 weeks to get the first appointment and was rescheduled for today which is a month past the original appointment. Seriously unprofessional. I've never wrote a review in my life. However, I felt compelled to let the general public about this place. First of all, if your child is afraid of the dentist at all... find another place. The hygienist is just making a buck. She has no compassion at all. Both of my children vomited when she was working on them because she did not stop working on them when they gagged. The hygienist was so sweet, she was very thorough and talked to me about teeth care. Dr. Joey works so well with kids, he was absolutely amazing with my son. His friendly outgoing personality put my son at ease and even made him smile. Dr. Joey also educated me about my sons molars coming in which I had no idea about. At the end, my son got a token and was able to pick out a toy for himself which I thought was such a sweet touch. My daughter is 2 this was her first dentist appt! I was thrilled they had Saturday hours and I didn't have to take any days off work . The wait was extremely minimal and within 10 minutes of me filling out all necessary paperwork. We were seen Dr. Joe and Eleanor & even though my daughter was very confused 2 year old, they knew exactly how to handle the situation of a screaming toddler. I will definitely be taking her back here in 6 months for another scheduled check-up. This practice is great! read more

Horrible horrible experience. My 4 year old child was mortified. Please check other review forums and you'll find similar negative feedbacks. Dr Joe should absolutely NOT be a pediatric dentist. His methods belong in a Penitentiary setting, not dealing with kids. He horrified my son. I took my son in on an emergency visit after he fell on his front teeth. Dr Joe checked him and recommended having them removed... initially Dr Joe was calm and collected, confident and in control, but within a few minutes he was starting to lose his patience at my petrified child. Dr Joe became arrogant, angry, and patientless in no time. Not only was my son scared from the blood coming out of his gums, the needle that was being injected into his mouth, the pain he was feeling, but he also was being YELD AT by the dentist to "STOP CRYING!", STRAIGHTEN HIS LEGS... the dentist even yelled at him "ENOUGH!!" Like 4 times... And as I'm talking to my son calming him down Dr Joe even had the audacity to tell me to "not talk to (my son)"... the experience WAS HORRIBLE. He even yelled at my kid by his LAST NAME. And finally here is the kicker...while my sons mouth is bleeding, building up saliva, and my son is drooling and crying at the same time DR JOE KEEPS YELLING AT MY SON THAT hes "Getting the Drs clothes dirty with BLOOD!!!" And to "STOP IT!" Oh my God... for the sake of my son who was in need of that procedure I was FORCED to shut my own mouth and not intervene. BEWARE! Dr Joe has ZERO patience for young children. Since then I was let go from my job and have no insurance, and no money to say the least, my daughters filling fell out, it was "between" a baby tooth, when the baby tooth fell out the filling fell out. i was told that they will not guarantee their work, that i have to pay for extras and a cleaning. HeLLLLOOOOO I don't have a Job or Insurance, and HOW am I supposed to pay for this???? I am very dissatisfied with this office. I called to make an appointment for my 5yr old having bad pain on lower left side.. wanted to give me an appointment 2 weeks later.. then said we can fit u in as an "emergency" a week later. During the appointment I was bashed for the issues my son was having, yet this office gave him a cleaning the year prior with no xrays, I was told that he was to young. So they said my son needed a crown cavities filled etc. Didnt explain much and couldn't do anything to help the pain at this moment. I was told it is at the decaying part and a root canal would have to be done. Couldn't help at this time gave me several appointments almost 2 weeks away to start the decaying tooth. And just give motrin. How much motrin can a kid take ? I will never recommend them to anyone. They are not there to help kids.. read more
