SmallCakes in Jupiter just opened very recently. Since I have frequented SmallCakes in the Orlando area for my gluten free cupcake fixes, I'm familiar with the company. As soon as I entered the shop, a cheerful young lady from behind the counter greeted me. She began to tell me the specials of the day. The displays are a dazzling array of sugary treats! I had called earlier to order some GF cupcakes from a very polite gentleman who promised that my treats would be waiting for me when I arrived to pick them up. The box with my cupcakes was ready for me. The shop is very small and so cute. I don't know if there are plans to put tables inside as is the case with other SmallCakes shops I have visited but for now it looks like the shop is take out only. So far, I've eaten the Vanilla Cupcake with Chocolate frosting. It tasted excellent! The cake itself was light and fluffy, which is unusual as many GF baked goods are dense. My only complaint is the price - $4.50 for a gluten free cupcake. But I'll be back to use my Cupcake Reward Card - buy 12, get one free! read more

Small cakes is what you're going to get. These aren't the size of a Dunkin' Donuts muffin or even what you'd expect from DDs. These are the same size cupcakes you'd make in your kitchen... at almost $4 per. It's defiantly a more boutique type place, and you'll pay for that. SmallCakes Cupcakery - A dozen minis - Cupcakes Near Me - Jupiter, Florida

You can find your sugar high here. The cupcakes are cute and pretty with many fun flavors to choose from. We tried the cookies and cream and a flavor of the day (chocolate cake with Bavarian cream and chocolate icing). The base of the cupcake was moist and fluffy. The Bavarian cream in the middle was silky. However, all the goodness was overpowered by the icing. Even though a basic icing is sugar and fat, this one was way too sugary and dense. I love buttercream but the buttercream at Small Cakes was not buttery or creamy. In our case, the icings were the right color (chocolate brown) and appropriately speckled (cookies n cream) but they tasted the same! Chocolate and cookies and cream are not subtle flavors. In a blind taste test, both icing would be mistaken for plain sugar paste. I don't understand how buttercream served at room temperature isn't fluffier. I suspect there is a lot of shortening in their buttercream. Just skip the icing if you pick up a Small Cake cupcake. read more

I went today to try them out for the first time. The only thing good is that the cake is moist. The frosting is too sweet and leaves an aftertaste and coating on the roof of your mouth and the filling in the chocolate cream.pie cupcake tasted like nail polish remover. I just love this place. The staff is so friendly, whether I'm picking up one for me or a dozen for a friends bday. I think I'm considered a regular because they know me by my first name lol. Two outstanding interactions with the owner, Nat, in less than 24 hours. He demonstrated a true interest in my order, and accommodated a ridiculous turn around. We ordered an assortment of cupcakes, and each flavor was delicious. I think there were at least 10 different types, and even tiny ones for all the PBC/Jupiter dog owners to treat their pooch! I liked the Facebook page for this location before it opened, and today I FINALLY visited. I'm so glad I did! The person who worked the counter (I believe it was the owner himself!) was so incredibly kind. I got the fudge milkshake. They make their milkshakes by blending the cupcake with ice cream... I walked out with my milkshake and immediately walked back in to get a cupcake for my fiancé, it was that good (for the record, he described his cupcake as the "perfect vanilla")! Agree with 1/2 of the other reviews, the location, the shop, the packaging, and the cake itself are all great...the location is easy to get to, the shop is cute, tidy, and appealing....even the restroom is spotless....the pink boxes and handwritten menu boards are adorable....and the cake themselves are light, fluffy and delicately flavored...BUT, then there is the frosting....and mind you, there is almost an equal amount of frosting, as cake....but it is a thick, tasteless glob of sweet, grittiness. We purchased 6 different cakes, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Chocolate Creme filled, Vanilla Cake w/ light Chocolate Frosting, Red Velvet, Chocolate cake with Peanut Butter Frosting, and Lemon Drop. I was expecting the Pumpkin Cheesecake to have Cream Cheese Frosting....it was just a sweet, tasteless glob. We cut up the remaining cakes, and taste-tested them on 7 friends. Only one, didn't mind the extra sweetness, but agreed that there was no distinguishable flavors. These are definitely NOT Butter Cream, Or CreamCheese...I remember my grandmother made boiled frosting, which remnded me of this, but that had flavor. We were so hoping to love this little shop...abd are deliberately writing a pointed review because we really hope that sweet owner, who clearly put heart + soul into shop will take another look at frosting situation and at least vary it, by trying some other types of frostings.
