It's been a while since I paid a visit to Smallcakes. Last time was almost five years ago in Orange Country, California, so coming by on a Sunday afternoon for a cupcake to-go was definitely a nice treat. There were so many flavors to choose from, but I tend to gravitate towards non-chocolate flavors so I was able to "eliminate" half of the options with ease. The Pink Vanilla grabbed my eyes immediately, as it was generously frosted and coated with bright pink sprinkles. Perfect! My cupcake held up for the entirety of the short ride home. Even though the cupcake seemed "large" (measured around 150 grams, about 480 calories) it was the perfect size for me---the cake portion was super soft, and there was plenty of frosting to balance out the cake. Now that I'm back in the States after spending a significant time abroad, I am looking forward to have cupcakes like the ones at Smallcakes on a more frequent basis! read more

Very disappointed. Our red velvet cupcake was dry and the icing had an odd flavor. It is my daughter's favorite type of cake and she knows what it should taste like. She took a tiny bite and then asked to swap it for something else. The staff person snickered and was rude. She said no exchanges or returns because it's food. Did not ask what the issue was or why we were unhappy. We just threw the cupcake out. At a minimum she could have asked what the issue was or apologized that we were unhappy. While we were there the staff person was also playing her music loudly on her phone. read more

Went to small cakes to purchase a cupcake for someone who happened to have a nut allergy. When asking about a specific cupcake had nut products I was given such attitude for no reason at all. You should be willing to discuss allergies without treating them like inconveniences. read more

I went into small cakes this morning to purchase a dozen cupcakes because the sign said $48 a dozen but I was charged $57 because now they ring them up by individual cupcakes. If I had known that I would've only gotten 10 because I didn't need a dozen, but I figured for $48 I would get a dozen. That is really price gouging. read more

One of the first places I saw open for to-go foods during COVID-19, and they made me a happy customer. We tried a variety of things this visit and have been back since for a small cake. They really came through with a last minute red velvet cake for Mother's Day when nowhere else was. Since we've been coming here we purchased: macaroons (mango), red velvet and wedding cupcakes and a red velvet cake. All were delish, flavorful and MOIST. I came in after a long work day looking for a pick me up. The interior decor is SO cute! Pink and Parisian themed but, unfortunately, the pink frosting and vanilla cupcake that I got for myself was let downs. It was JUST *okay* and the frosting tasted like it was from the baking aisle in the grocery store. I ended up scraping it off. I looked at the reviews and wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and make my own judgement as people can be particular about their cupcakes. The place smelled like sewage, first of all. It was extremely potent. The cupcakes -- we got 6. The only thing different between the vanilla ones with different icing were the icing was just a different color. The wedding cake one was way too sweet I had to toss it. I also got the turtle cupcake which was basically just a different icing on top of another vanilla cupcake. Smallcakes never let's me down. They give me and my daughter the cupcake fix we need! I had the pink spinkles and my daughter had the red velvet cake. Mine was SUPER MOIST!!! Had cookies and brownies from this place which I ordered from UberEats and these were possibly the worst deserts I've ever had in my entire life. Cookies were rock hard and had absolutely no flavor and brownies tasted like flour and chocolate were the only ingredients used. Will stick to Tiff Treats. Wouldn't recommend cookies or brownies. I am a cupcake connoisseur. So I'm very harsh when it comes to cupcake quality. This location gets a solid 5 compared to the woodlands location. The chocolate cream cupcake is one of the most moist chocolate cakes I've ever had. They rotate flavors daily so I always do my best to step out of the norm. These cupcakes are great. They are expensive but also very large. The regular flavors are great. My favs being the strawberry and chocolate cream (ding dong). I picked up 4 different flavored cupcakes from here due to my original go-to cupcake shop being closed on Sundays. My first reaction when walking in was amazing due to the cupcakes being beautifully displayed and decorated (2 stars for that). However, I was very disappointed once sampling them. Surprisingly the best one of the 4 was the Eggnog flavored cupcake. We had the Eggnog, Red Velvet, Birthday Cake, and Wedding Cake. Wedding cake is normally my favorite but, this cupcake has way too much almond flavoring for my taste.
