I walked around while my MIL spoke to her and found several options that she could've shown to us. We asked about some samples of leather finishes and colors that were on display and were told that those particular options may not be available. That struck me as odd. Why were they on display then? Walking around the store, I noticed several leaks in their ceiling with buckets precariously placed to catch the drips. I also saw several desks/work areas in severe disarray. That was extremely off-putting. I might visit just to check out the clearance items, but nothing more.

Later that afternoon the owner called and said she couldn't accept the items after all and I needed to pick the couch and chairs up yet that afternoon. I made emergency arrangements to have them picked up. When the driver got there he was told that they also didn't want the table and he needed to take that as well. This experience cost me extra money, endless phone calls to arrange the pickup. All because the owner changed her mind and wasn't present as promised causing this second pick up. To make it worse she wasn't even nice: she was curt and abrupt. Avoid this business at all cost.

So I snagged a really cool coffee table for the price I would have paid at Walmart or IKEA which was plan A after the sectional purchase. Secondly, I arranged the coffee table to be delivered. I live up 4 sets of stairs, guilt is already setting in. I tell Todd the delivery guy (who conveniently is available to reach by text) that I live in a somewhat non ideal location for moving stuff. He says no problem and when he gets to my place he had a guy with him so I only had to open doors. I was already going to tip because of the stairs but they made it look so easy! Me and friends practically died moving couches up those bad boy stairs. But here's the kicker, THEY DENIED MY TIP, SAYING IT WAS INCLUDED WITH THE PURCHASE. My super discounted purchase! Great business, great people. Only negative side is I will always feel guilty I didn't convince them to take the tip!

While I always prefer to give my business to local operators, I really had no choice but to go outside the area to get skillful interior design and furniture. The owner is charming and seems to have good taste, BUT, she suffers from poor follow-through and makes promises she apparently has no intention of delivering on. There is nothing more frustrating than needing to get a project wrapped up and waiting for weeks upon weeks for answers or design proposals. Spend your money in Indianapolis, Chicago, or St. Louis where companies deliver on their promises and actually work for their money.

The operating organization is the Preservation and Conservation Association, and the items for (very affordable) sale are largely historical or quite vintage. When I passed through they had light fixtures, doors, what sure seemed to be a Philco BC-221-N Vintage Radio Frequency Meter, door locks with keys, school lockers, etc etc. As another reviewer noted, the doors are all labeled with measurements and organized so you don't have to fish things out unnecessarily. Staff is super friendly and helpful, I bought a project and the staff made sure I knew what I was getting in for. There is a little museum section in the back of the store with historical items on display and they have some books for in-store use on topics like making a home more elder-friendly and dealing with vintage hardware. Community health: when we went, the doors were open for cross ventilation and half the staff were masking (note, I knocked a star off bc community spread is high right now and everyone, regardless of vaccination status, should be masking indoors).

I Looked at how many jets, how many motors, warantees, ozonators, lights, waterfalls, 110 versus 220, sizes and shapes, acrylic versus cast. I visited several local stores but when I finally went to Altmans what I realized was that a local dealer whose name came up many times amongst friends was THE MOST important factor. Mike at the Champaign store took such care to find out my needs and educate me on the products. I realized that what you really want, first and foremost, is a company that truly believes in their product and will help you through making the right choices for your family and any future help you may need, from getting chemistry right to getting the installation done. When we couldn't get an electrician Mr. Altman found me one to hook it up the day it was delivered! He was there for me every step of the way. He was available by text on a Sunday to help me get the chemicals right! The delivery guys were polite and knowledgeable. They walked me through chemicals and got the tub installed into a vey tight delivery location. I love my hot tub and use it every evening. The entire process has been perfect! Thank you Altmans! I visited Everyday Quilting Company for the first time today. I brought in an almost finished…read morewall hanging. I was looking for ideas about how to add a border and about what colors might work with the wide variety of colors in the wall hanging. Their customer service was fabulous! Both employees brought bolts of fabric for me to consider, and suggested that I consider a double border. With their help, I was quickly able to pick colors, and the double border allowed me to highlight several colors in the wall hanging so that they will really pop. They calculated the amount of fabric I would need for the border and the backing and off I went, excited to have found something that I think will be really pretty when finished. They do long arm quilting there so when I have the borders completed I can take it there to have the actual quilting done. I was very impressed with how friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful they were and will definitely visit again. And their prices were very reasonable!
