Incredibly thorough explanations and incredibly responsive! Called around 4 electricians before finally deciding on Smart EV Plug to install our Tesla Wall Charger. Smart EV Plug was the only one we felt confident in like explanations making sense. Mario (the owner) is incredibly thorough in his explanations regarding the whole process, explaining exactly the whole process (such as what changes if any are needed for the electric panel, etc.), the cost breakdown including what specific services they would do, such as the process of obtaining the permit. Jeff, one of his employees, was the one to install our Tesla Wall Charger. Jeff was happy to answer any questions, and any questions he could not answer, I called Mario, and Mario was very prompt to respond to the call. The tech, Jeff, came and explained everything, walked the property from the electrical panel to the installation spot and explained everything to me. He went out of his way to hide the electrical wiring, even crawling into the tiny crawlspace under the house to route the electrical behind the wall and out a small vent 15 feet later, to have less wiring on the outside of the house. Any time you need electrical services it can be a scary and dangerous situation if you choose poorly. I am someone who does a lot of research prior and takes time to gain an understanding of what is important for the service I need. This was the case when deciding first if I needed an electrical panel upgrade and then second who I should use. After having 4 electricians evaluate my existing box the consensus was by upgrading my panel due to adding an EV car charger was a necessary step I needed to take. I chose Smart Plug EV because they were honest, fair, but most importantly they were the highest rated SCE provider, they were also Tesla certified which in my case was important. Two electricians arrived on time, both friendly and knowledgeable and in one day completed the full panel upgrade. They even brought a generator to plug our refrigerator and freezers in while the power was off. These guys do this about 4-5xs each week and it was obvious they knew exactly what to do. Mario and his partner just finished installing a Nema 14-50 on a 240V using a very robust 6 gauge wire in my garage to charge my electric vehicle. Mario was a pleasure to work with. Very down to earth, yet very professional. He had an answer for all my questions and was very upfront with the pricing and if there were any overages (my panel was about 55 linear feet away from where I wanted to place the plug). His pricing was fair and was very accommodating. I got quotes from several electricians and even tried to go down the Qmerit route. I always felt like it took days to get an answer where as Mario was able to give me an initial quote and schedule an install within an hour of our initial conversation. Installing a plug to charge your EV shouldn't be rocket science. Mario made sure I fully understood everything he was going to do and how he was going to accommodate my requests. Was the install clean? YES, VERY. How long was the install? ABOUT 2HRS. That's fast. Did he use the proper materials? YES.
