Very unethical company! They are so bad that a complaint has been filed by me against them with the Contractors State Board. They would go to length to make your life difficult. The company seems shady and unethical based on other reviews as well. They quoted me lower on phone during original installation but charged higher per email quote. The 240 volt outlet installed has never worked properly. I had complained to them immediately about this but they maintain it is properly installed. I'm getting errors while charging as the charger gets too hot and drops the speed to 16 A from 32 A. Tesla has looked this up multiple times and confirmed the charging mechanism within the car is working fine but something else is wrong with my outlet. The Tesla Mobile Connector has been changed twice (2 times) already and I keep getting the same errors. When I charge it with the same Mobile Connector (charger) at my friend's place, it works just fine. My Electric bill last month also came out to $855 which has been highest ever in my life. Tesla is saying something is wrong with the outlet at my home but the contractors refuses to fix it for free and wants another $520. They have many other complaints on their Yelp page as well which will confirm how unethical they are. Other electrical contractor who came out earlier this month to troubleshoot my situation stated that Omega Electrical Inc. has installed improper and cheap quality products which may not be working well and/or are going bad. Apparently, my city called me just recently (few weeks after filing complaint against Omega with the Contractors State Board) asking me if I had a permit for this installation which even the rep was not sure if it was required. I am not aware of any permit requirements for just installing an outlet like this inside my house. It is very likely Omega Electrical Inc. called my city complaining/informing about this. read more

Omega responded to my Yelp quote request for an EV Charger install and was able to do everything online. I sent as many pictures I could to make sure they had all the prep and material needed. Set the appointment up and their guys showed up on time to the minute (albeit it was 7am and I was the first one). Both electricians used their levelers constantly to make sure everything was straight. Cleaned up and now charger works like a charm. I applied for permits on my own and passed easily with a thumbs up (you can pay an electrician to go to city hall for you, pull permits and wait around a couple hours to pass inspection the next day, or you can do it on your own, which is what I did) Would totally recommend and request a quote to get started. read more

Update: After discovering that Nelson's technician made the mistake on using an used 70 amp breaker vs. a 20 on my home, another technician came out and fixed it very promptly. However, after the fix Nelson sent me an updated invoice in which the part cost tripled from $50 to $147. I called to ask how the cost gone up so much he said it's because it was a refurbish part to a new part. I requested an itemized list of parts since I felt like cost tripling was insane between a new and old and he revised the invoice down to $90. I understand that businesses should have a markup, it's cost of doing business but that's still a 20x markup. Keep in mind this is on top of the $150 of labor cost he's charging me for the 1.5 hours of work. All in all I gave a 5 star review because despite the mistake they made the first round because I understand errors happen, Nelson took care of it promptly, but this whole billing scheme and going and back and forth just seems dishonest. Nelson, who was the one I was in contact with is super fast with answering questions and is very prompt. He would even reply past normal business hours which is a plus. Quoting and setting up an appointment was quick and easy. The electricians came right on time at 6am in the morning to start the job of the main breaker panel upgrade. I was going from a 100 to 200amp panel. Additionally, I asked to help upgrade my doorbell transformer for my Nest Hello because it was not receiving enough voltage. Separately from what I was originally quoted for, I also asked the electricians to help install a new Nest Thermostat that I just recently purchased. On time and efficient! Everyone was wearing a mask and careful around my furniture. I had a light switch that wasn't working and turns out the power went out so they had to open up the fuse box and figure out which wire was bad. Then they looked at the bathroom fan to figure out if it was the motor. Considering how small my bathroom is, they managed pretty well. I contacted Omega Electrical via Yelp to install a 240 charger for a Tesla. I spoke to Nelson who quickly gained my trust by answering all my questions patiently and with as much info as possible.  I asked other companies and all of them gave a generic quote. For Omega, I sent them a pic of my circuit breaker and he gave me a pretty narrow price range.  We almost had an agreement and then I freaked out having a permit done (just in case something happens, I want my insurance to not have issues). I asked Nelson if they could take care of this and they did! On the day of the installation, Benacio (spelling) and Michael came to my house and worked on it. We needed an exhaust fan installed in our bathroom quickly and Omega Electrical was available in a very timely manner. Our bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan already, so they needed to cut into the ceiling to install one that we bought ahead of time. In terms of the work, they were very quick and efficient--the estimated 3 hours to do the work only ended up amounting to 2 hours tops. I was quite pleased with the quick work, so on that note I would rate them 5 stars. Just so you know, they do not patch up any drywall that has been cut open or repaint the walls afterwards, which I was aware of at the time, so just wanted to let others know that you'll need to hire a handyman to do those finishing details or hire someone that does both the installation and the patchwork. Also, you'll need to clean up all the powder and other drywall remnants that get tracked from the bathroom to your front door--there was quite a lot of powder and footprints left on my hardwood floors after the work was done. As for the 4-star rating, that's because of some things done before and after the work was completed. Firstly, I made the appointment for 7:15pm, but when I got back home from work earlier than expected at around 6pm, I saw their service vehicle already waiting in front of my house. It was not until after I got inside that I received a text stating that the servicemen had already arrived ahead of schedule--a little more than an hour earlier. I'm not against having my appointment time changed to earlier if it suits my needs, but I would prefer being asked at least an hour before my appointment time if they can come earlier since they were ahead of schedule. I was hoping to eat dinner before their arrival since I feel uncomfortable eating meals when there are workers in my house, and since their work took about 2 hours, I didn't get to eat until after 8pm. Again, it's just a personal preference of mine, but I still think it's appropriate to inform the customer of a possible earlier arrival time and ask if it suits their needs rather than just arrive early and tell the customer after the fact. The last thing that bothered me was that after the work was completed, one of the servicemen decided to use my restroom without my consent. Whether you are a visitor or worker in someone's home, I believe it is a common courtesy to ask the owner of the home for permission to use their restroom. Again, these are just personal preferences of mine, but unfortunately they just gave me a bad impression, so that's why I docked down their overall rating to 4 stars despite the work being 5 stars. read more

TLDR: You got electrical problems? These guys are your team. Fast response, straight to the point, on-time, hard working, total professionals that will earn your trust through their actions and their words. Nelson and Michael are just a great team and I am glad that I called them for my electrical issues. I will be calling them for a future project. The problem: Our ceiling recessed lightning were going out one by one in a span of two weeks. I tried to replacing the CFL bulbs myself but with my luck I happen to break the bulb from it's base. It was time to throw in the towel and to get a professional to check for the root cause and fix the mess I made. First contact: Called at around 11:00 am and I was greeted by Nelson. My call with Nelson just felt right. I was able to convey my problems to him and the process couldn't have gone smoother going over the issue. Also added a second issue which is one of the bedroom would short whenever a certain outlet is being used. He was able to come over same day at 6:00 pm. The pre-visit process: After hanging up the call Nelson asked me for a picture of the panel because I felt that there may be a bigger electrical issue at play since 3 lights in my kitchen went out in the span of 2 weeks. We were able to go through the paperwork over text along with the quote and the quote was very fair. 1 hour minimal of work at the rate that we agreed upon. He did notify me that he is going to send his partner Michael to scope out the issue. The visit: Michael arrived (wearing PPE mask) 25 minutes earlier than expected and he got quickly to work as soon as I pointed out to him where the panel was. Michael scoped out the panel and tested the health of it which he told me that it is in good shape. Shortly afterwards Nelson arrived (also wearing PPE mask) and we proceed to go into the house to look at the lights. Michael and Nelson went directly after the problem by diagnosing the voltage of the lights which was low but still suitable and proceeded to remove one of the CFL bulb which I miserably fail to remove. They were kind enough to show me how to remove it next time. Michael proceeded to remove the broken bulb and while he was working on that, Nelson was shown the second issue. By the time I have finish explaining the issue to Nelson, Michael came up all done with the kitchen lightning and pretty much started working on the second issue as soon as Nelson gave him a recap. Pretty much Michael got it. He was able to start work and Nelson went back downstairs to clean up some of the ceiling's debris (HUGE PLUS as I thought I would have to clean it myself). Michael probably took maybe 30 minutes resolving the second issue which was a faulty neutral line that he fixed. I felt really good about how these guys are working that I ask Nelson and Michael about some future projects such as replacing all my CFL bulbs with LED and getting an electric car charger. Nelson pretty much walk through how the process will go and he even had the parts to do the LED lights that day. I wasn't ready to pull the trigger but had a lot of good information for the future. The verdict: Omega Electrical did an excellent job, they were able to resolve the problems I had and I did not feel like they wasted any time doing the tasks that needed to be done to resolve the issues.
