During installation, he cleaned out HVAC with hospital grade cleaner that prevents mold growth, and he installed a UV light as an extra defense against mold growth. It was a big job and took longer than we both anticipated. His crew worked past 6 pm to make sure the air ducts were completely installed so my family and I could turn the heater back on overnight. Before he left for the evening, he also cleared out our dryer vent as an extra gesture. When he came back to replace the vent plates, he asked us our preferences and comfort level to adjust the airflow in different spaces throughout our home. We appreciated that extra step very much. He also recommended that we replace our emergency drip pan as it was rusted and could cause a leak at any moment. He's even going to install a trip switch on his next visit as our unit doesn't currently have one. Overall, we had a good experience with Mateo. He's very knowledgeable, pleasant, made needed recommendations, and backed the work he did on our airducts with a five year warranty. My condensate pan wouldn't drain well and was constantly flowing through the overflow line, so I…read morecalled a major Houston HVAC contractor who replaced it with a shiny new pan put a high-water-level sensor for emergency shutoff on it. The pan still didn't really drain well, and the shut-off essentially turned my fan on and off on short cycles (because there was water in the pan) til the fan burned out. The major HVAC contractor then tried to sell me on rebuilding the entire attic system of my AC, which was 6 years old. I called 2nd Opinion (appropriately enough), and they actually reoriented the pan so it would actually drain down the main valve and not into the overflow, and replaced the fan for ~$300 (it did take two tries to get a new part that fit my system). While they are not the slickest looking sales people, they did find the root cause of my problem and fix it cheap, which I greatly appreciate.
