SmartStyle in Hudson NH is a hidden gem ! I am a creature of habit. Once I find a stylists I always request the same person, although at SmartStyle all the stylists are very good. I have been getting highlights, coloring and changing my look since I was in my 20's and that was a long time ago. I have paid up to $400 to get my hair done. During financial hardship I went to SmartStyle and am not going anyplace else. Emma is my stylists. She is a professional and consults with me each time I go. And she is sweet as can be. I went there with my one year old son to get his hair cut the day before his photoshoot he had for Christmas photos. The lady cutting his hair was very sweet but you could tell she had never cut hair before because I feel she had no idea what she was doing. My son left looking a mess. So bad I ended up crying because his hair was all different lengths and just all over the place. I understood he was giving her a bit of a hard time but I put all my efforts in to keep him still enough to get something half decent out of it. This sadly was far from. We call to ask for a refund which they said to come in. My fiancé came in and said we had to recut his hair in order to fix it for pictures and just wanted a refund because we feel we shouldn't have had to pay for something so terrible. The manager gave my fiancé such a hard time and was very rude. It ended in a very heated argument with her telling him he needed to leave. Customer service there is terrible and I suggest nobody go here. It was such an awful experience that I will never forget. read more

Got my hair colored and it was a complete mess. The girl had color my entire hair and left it to bleached up before doing my roots, not to mentioned my roots is black. By the time she decided to color my roots my tips was almost about to break she had to remove the bottom color by spraying water and using a dry towel. Long story short, my hair is blotchy and my roots is orange! She constantly tried everything to get it right but lack in experience and expertise. She talked like she knows it all and even claim to graduated from Paul Mitchell beauty school and when I got home I notice the back of my shirt had been bleached out!! Worst experience ever!!! Very mediocre!! I do not recommend coloring of any sort at this salon. read more

I'm sad to see that the reviews here are so old. The staff is amazing and so talented. After years of bad haircuts, I wandered into SmartStyle one day at Walmart, because I desperately needed a haircut. Brittany was the stylist free at that moment and I've never thought about going anywhere else. She listened to my concerns and I got the best haircut I've has in, literally, years! My next visit I talked to her about coloring and how I wanted to just let my hair go naturally white. She got me there and I realized I wasn't ready for that, yet. I asked her to add just a teeny bit of purple in the bangs and front of my hair. It looked really great! The next time I went in, I got really brave and asked her if she could use the purple to highlight my hair. She did and...WOW! A dark purple and a lavender color. I've never received so many positive comments on my hair...EVER! You will not be disappointed in this salon. Don't let the location deter you. Give them a try, you'll be back for sure ! read more

Just went here yesterday... while the ladies were busy they are short staffed.. they were very courteous & professional Brittany did my hair.... not a fancy hair place but she listened to what I wanted, gave a good consultation & did a great job at a reasonable price.. I have kinda difficult hair its kind'a thin there's grey roots to cover up & I'm pretty picky about my hair, I had a hairdresser 4 years but she moved outta state. so I've been on the hunt for a new shop,That being said, I cant tell you how many times I've gone to some high end salon thinking they must really know what they are doing, paid a ton of money & been soooooooo disappointed in my hair, & if I complained they would make me feel like who was I gonna believe them or my lying eyes...crazy!... give this place a try... I recommend calling for an appointment even thought they take walk in's... I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results... Thank you Brittany your Great!!!...
