I guess i'm still on the look out for a hair cut place close to home for my boys. as a side note, i was checking out the others stylists "results" the lady who got the perm was a perm straightforward, her stylist was probably 65+ the other chairs were empty. at check out time another interaction with the man at reception, he flatly told me that tips weren't allowed on cards. I gave the stylist a 30% tip on a $10 haircut, so i asked him was it because a percentage was coming off her tip. I accounted for it on the 30%, and he replied,no it's b/c don't have enough cash in my draw. which was $3!!! i most likely will not return.

A year ago or so the owner sent an email and embedded in the email was a disclosure clients would be paying for product (hair dye, etc). Eyeful is also an eco salon, wonderful, but clients pay a fee for that as well. A small color service cost me nearly $60 in product and nearly a $10 "eco" fee. They are constantly raising prices and promoting stylists to charge more. In 18 months it's been over a 50% increase for the same services between periodic service increases, stylist promotions creating another service increase and the product/eco fee which is quite substantial. I understand life is hard right now, but I don't know anyone whose salary has increased significantly, and with the state of the world most of us are fearful we won't have a job in the not so distant future. I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere. Luckily there are several salons in the area that will provide the same service for half the price and do not place the cost of product and sustainability on the clients. As a Lowell resident I want to support local, but when local is so out of touch with pricing compared to every other salon in a 5mi radius, I have no choice. I know eyeful provides a range of stylists to fit your "budget" but there are skilled stylists in area salons still coming in well below eyefuls price point that I don't have to sacrifice experience for a lower price. This was truly a sad review to write.
