SmashBurger is on of my favorite guilty pleasures. This is a small chain that works very hard at getting things right. You get to build your own (1/3 or 1/2 pound burger) so you never have to have it the same way twice. I've tried the chicken sandwich and salads aren't as impressed with them. The burgers actually taste like good quality meat - versus the typical fast-food fare. Your custom burger is delivered hot with very fresh ingredients. SB recently added a new "Smash Fries" which are crispy fries tossed in olive oil, rosemary and garlic - yummy! I give SB four stars based on price/performance (compared to other fast-ish food places). My only complaints are that they won't cook your burger medium-rare and they only have one size drink cup. read more

Colorado smash burger is my choice, however, the oregano or whatever herb they sprinkled on my fries was a bit much after fry 10. Went today for the 1st time and I was not impressed. For the price I was expecting something bigger & better. I feel that it is a step above fast food burgers but not on par with other "burger" joints. It was something we definitely won't go out of our way to try again. If I could give Smashburger zero stars, or minus stars... I would! I got completely sick eating here and I contacted Smashburger Corporate Offices and have not heard a single reply from them. The food was completely greasy and dripping along with excess salt and food that was put together haphazardly... I will ABSOLUTELY NEVER EVER step into a Smashburger again! I left an email message to the corporate office informing them that I've got the receipt along with having really bad gastro distress. HEARD NOTHING BACK even though I both called and placed IMPORTANT in the subject header of the email. The truffle tots! The first time I ordered them, I ordered two. One for me and one for my husband. I accidentally started snacking while driving home. They were soooo good. Like, melt in your mouth good. I finished a whole side in the 5 minute drive. Then, I lied to my husband and told him the order got messed up and they only gave me one side... so we had to split the second one! Probably the worst lie I've ever told. He forgave me, in time. This Smashburger is favorite burger place! I know it's a chain, but it doesn't feel like it. The burgers and salads are always fresh and reasonably priced and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Spinach salad with chicken is my favorite and the kids love the triple doubles and Oreo shakes. read more

I came here for lunch one day and made it all the way back to my job and found out that the burger was missing hunks of meat. A corner was gone and their was a big hole in the middle that was covered with a couple of pickles. The burger was also super pink even though I specifically requested it well done. I like Smashburger, it's one of my favorite fast food places to get a burger. Their salads are also pretty good, chicken sandwiches, even a good black bean burger. Be on the lookout for the Buy-one-get-one free entree coupons, though. Lately they are readily available and make it a much better deal. I think the regular prices are too high ($7-$8 for a sandwich plus extra for the side items) and I rarely eat there if I don't have a coupon. Tastes great though! read more

Besides the high prices for fast food this location really disappointed me. As I sit there eating it starts to smell like cigarettes. I mention it to the clerk by asking why does it smells like cigarettes? His answer, the guys are probably smoking out back. So either they are smoking in the kitchen or they are smoking outside with the door wide open. I had to take the rest of my food to go and eat in my car. All I got from those in the back, because they heard me, was laughs and stares. I won't return to this location. read more

I had the Bacon Avocado Burger and it was the best burger I have ever eaten in my life! I spend a month in Colorado each year and I've paid $20 for burgers that don't hold a candle to Smashburger. I'm going to stop doing that. When I want a burger in Colorado Smashburger is now my go to place! The fries were hot and crispy as well! My son had the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger and loved it! He says it is always consistently excellent. I will go back many times this month and I will miss them when I go back to Texas. We don't have a Smashburger in Corpus Christi. Just had dinner with Smashburger today. Hubby ordered his Create Your Own (CYO) burger with 1/2 Beef Patty and French Fries. I had my Mushroom Swiss 1/2 Beef Patty with Veg Frites. All in all its OK. We had our dinner TO GO since hubby prefers to eat his orders at home. This was about 1645hrs. Definitely will return to this location and have a seat down meal next time and perhaps might have a different feedback for dinner. They provide BREAKFAST menu too. Just wish they have more OFFERS or combination to FATBURGER. Though hubby prefer his CYO to FatBurger. Condusive environment Place wise, its pretty clean and the staff are friendly. read more

Cool looking place, great table and chair set up and awesome little patio (I can't believe I sat outside in November and was comfortable without a coat!). I really like the rectangle basket and triangle fry holder, rather than the typical plastic red oval basket where everything gets mushed together. My burger was pretty good, but they spooged mustard and ketchup all over the outside of the bun, making my meal a 40 napkin meal. This, on top of the overly bubbly soda dispenser that fizzed all over my hand, and still left my glass half empty, made for a pretty sticky, not very comfortable meal. (I'm not as OCD as Hugh Hefner, but if my hands are sticky and there's mustard under my pinkie nail, I'm irritable.) The fries, which is usually my favorite part of the meal, were so boring, I left most of them behind. I didn't see a rosemary/olive oil selection, or I would have definitely tried them. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I had an order delivered and they not only sent the wrong food the food was cold. I can not eat meat and they sent me a turkey burger when I ordered a black bean burger. They argued with me about correcting the problem when they finally did agree to make the correct burger they would not deliver it and hung up on me. They were rude disrespectful and treated me like I meant nothing to their business. I know a lot of people that like smashburger and have seen a decline in food and service. I go to this location quite frequently, but an experience I had with a "manager" has me refusing to ever set foot in this restaurant ever again. I received an order that was made COMPLETELY wrong. When I asked the manager why it was so wrong, she told me it was MY fault. I was a retail store manager for over two years and I would never treat a customer as poorly as I was treated. I just got home from the hospital for a seizure and cannot drive, which is why I used Doordash. This woman had the audacity to tell me to just drive over for a new one. I need to write something before my friends here think I've vanished down a black hole. So since I haven't been anywhere noteworthy in a while, I'll write about one of my past experiences... Went to Smashburger in the spring of 2008 for lunch. It was a hot day. Not scorchingly hot, but hot. Decided with a friend to check out the new burger place in a small, unimpressive strip mall on S Colorado. Went in. Crowded as all getout. It's also *possible* they were understaffed that day, I'm not positive. Saw the menu and was very attracted by the "burger customization" part. My friend had a 1/3 lb classic smashburger, I ordered a 1/2 lb BBQ, bacon and cheese one. Sat down at a table that had just been cleared. No one bothered to wipe the table down for 15 minutes. My friends burger and fries came out at about the 6 minute mark, looking delicious. Mine came out at about the 20 minute mark. Ridiculous. Does it take freaking 14 minutes to fry bacon and smear some BBQ sauce on a bun? Apparently it did that day. My fries were limp while hers were crisp and tasty. Consistency much? The prime point of greatness for this location, though, were the flies. And not just little flies. Big ones. Lazily buzzing around and landing on everyone's food, including mine. Dig into that burger, flies, I bought it all for you. It was an utterly disgusting environment. Enough so that I never went back there. This place gets 2 stars for the ability to customize your burger, and the fact my burger was passable, moderately tasty but not outstanding. Everything else about the place blew chunks. After driving by Smashburger approximately 3.7 billion times and every time saying that we should try it out, the ladyfriend and I dropped in with a couple of friends to try some burgers and see what the fuss was all about (really the only fuss was the fuss we generated about wanting to try it.) It's your standard fast-food joint setup, with booths and tables and the counter with a menu next to it on the wall. You order, they send the order to the kitchen, give you a number, and when your food is ready they bring it to your table. It feels like every chipotle/madgreens/noodles&co/bajaFresh/Qdoba you've ever been in, only with burgers. I ordered the Colorado Burger that had american and jack cheese, with roasted chili peppers, and I added some bacon. also had lettuce and mayo and all that good stuff. I found the burger to actually be really good. Well seasoned, cooked well, and the toppings and sauces (I think they put more than just mayo on there) gave it a little spice, and it was definitely satisfying. For a side I got the flash fried veggies -- asparagus and sweet potato fries. These things were incredibly disappointing. It's entirely possible that I don't understand the definition of flash frying, but they were basically dipped in grease to warm them up, and then put on my plate. They weren't crispy, there was no batter, nothing. I should have skipped them and gotten fries. The ladyfriend had a spicy baja burger which she said was appropriately spicy, but she had hoped it would be more flavorful than it was. She told me that she thinks it probably would have been more flavorful if she hadn't foregone the spicy mayo, but alas. Hindsight.... One of our friends got a rootbeer float with her meal, and this place almost deserves a full extra star just for the serving of rootbeer floats! All in all, service was pretty quick, very friendly, and moderately tasty. It's not gonna blow your socks off, and it's definitely more expensive than Wendy's or some place like that (but you are also not getting a fully processed meal...I think) but gets you a decent quality burger for a little less than a bar might, or some place that's famous for their burgers. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, but it's a fast food place. So you ought to know what you're going to get before you walk in the door. Ahhhhhh SmachBurger, my friend. Here's the deal, this place is awesome. I've tried all the burgers and most of the sides and they have all been good to great. BUT!!!! This SmashBurger didn't seem to fit the normal awesome experience I have had at many other locations. First, it's way smaller, which is fine since we took that business to go. Second, I couldn't understand the lady at all. Come on, mumbling is for 8 year olds. Third, they must have had some off brand menu because it was confusing to order unlike other times when it was an amazing experience that reminded me more of christmas morning. Fourth, my burger was very uneventful and on a real time scale is was maybe 50% of the goodness that I recalled from past visits. Last, my girlfriend found a piece of twine/rope in her burger. WTF?? Oh and they forgot the sides we ordered, I guess they were really busy with the 1 other person ordering...eh Bottom line, if you feel the hunger pangs and are heading past this Smashburger location, KEEP GOING. Drive your booty to Englewood or Stapleton to skip the stomach ache and get a real Smashed Burger there. read more

Ummmm, SmashBurger is not that good folks. We ordered two 1/2 lb burgers, one with onion fries and one with veggie fries. The burgers themselves were pretty good but did not compare to the Cherry Cricket or Bull and Bush. I was burping up the onion "fries" (or onion SCRAPS) all night. Perhaps the wait staff was one person short that evening- the girl who took our order at the counter got our friend's order for 'no sauce of any kind on the burger' wrong (it was all sauced up) and randomly added a cup of chili onto his bill. Getting the no-sauce burger corrected threw the kitchen into a tizzy for about 5 minutes and we all had to sit around waiting for her order to reappear. It seems as if they've tried to model the service after Wahoos but have failed terribly. There was no clean silverware in the bin,and if you wanted another beer you had to get up, get back in line, and reorder - no thanks. (At Wahoos, the food runners check on you consistently to see if you need anything else...) The place was not very clean and dirty dishes were left on some abandoned tables a bit too long. Prices - $5.50 for a burger, $3.50 for those damn veggie fries, and $2.50 for a beer -- go to the Cricket and relax for exactly the same price. read more

Your delicious juicy smashpatties, once so consistently seared to sizzling perfection, have been delivered to me the last two times overcooked, like a strumpet baked leathery in the tanning bed. Maybe you're saving the good times for somebody else, and leaving me with your disinterested leftovers? I still like your tasty egg buns, and most of your artful accessories, like your chewy bacon. But you went too far by frying your onion toppings. Lord knows there ain't a food that don't taste better fried, but I'm beginning to fear for my health. Just gotta say this one smash burger is awesome. Came in with a groupon and as I was trying to load up the coupon my phone lost signal. Not missing a beat the guy understood, and let me know that the building acts up cell signals. Not the restaurants fault at all, but I couldn't pay for the burger. Well the guy still rung me up and put the coupon through. I quickly ran outside and got my signal back and got the coupon back on. He confirmed it and marked it as Paid! Wanted to try this place for a while. Hubs and I are sure glad we did. It was a hella good burger. I had the spicy burger on a spicy bun it lived in a spicy house and had spicy children which consisted of fresh HOT jalapeno slices, hot spicy sauce, pepperjack cheese, and lots of how else can I say HOTNESS! I love hot. The hubs had a build your own. His standard is leaving two bites of whatever he is eating left on his plate. I can tell when he really likes something because there is NOTHING left on his plate. The latter was the case here. I also enjoyed the fries. They were crispy and nicely salted.
