    Yummy tots 7/3/26
    Christa M.

My hub and and shared the steak burrito. It's huge, as the menu promises. It's covered in cheese, comes with their green chili on top, sautéed onions and peppers inside. They didn't skimp on the juicy steak or on the cheese. It's topped with diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce. We also ordered a side of tots. The side of tots could easily feed a family of 4. They are crispy and seasoned awesomely. Loved the decor and fun music.

Still a win! Today I just opted for a couple sides rather than a full entree, but I did try a new mimosa flavor, the anti oxidant! The name is silly haha because who thinks of a cocktail as antioxidant? There were blueberries at the bottom of the glass, so I guess that's why it's named that. But anyway, it is fantastic and my new favorite. My friend ordered the patty melt, and it was excellent; sorry for the wonky, not-properly-centered picture of it! Our server was a little flat with her facial expressions and responses at first, but I truly believe our goofy senses of humor won her over. Win win!! A weekday breakfast/brunch usually gets you a table, as it's never too loud or crowded, but it is almost always somewhat busy here. That's a testimony to their fun and expansive menu, and consistent service and timing of ordering. I will continue to recommend Sam's #3.

Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. The food was okay, I would get the wedge salad and the chocolate shakes again because they were both yummy! Its has an old diner vibe and is decorated nicely.

I came to this location for the first time and had a good time. The service didn't wow me but the food came out pretty quickly. The pies are delicious so they're worth checking out. My salad size was huge so it kept me for 2 meals. Worth the money. I'll be back again.

Eating at Sam's feels like a rite of passage. I've been a few times, and the food is great with friendly, attentive servers. I especially like coming here for a late breakfast. The menu is huge, with plenty of options, so there's always something that sounds good. My regular order is the corned beef hash from scratch with a side of green chili.

We love sams!!! They have something for everyone on the menu. Cute little bar area with tvs to watch a game. We have become big fans of the hand held burrito and tots to go! It is a lot of food for the $!

Busy sports bar environment with a very large selection of food/drink. We got the Spero's burrito (breakfast burrito with eggs, hashbrowns, cheddar under pork green chili), which was solid, very filling, and HUGE. Not the best green chili in the city but still tasty! Very friendly service.

This is my go to place for breakfast and now that I know they're open until 8 PM. I started going for dinner too. I usually have a cheeseburger deluxe with a bowl of chili no beans for breakfast. I have the two egg breakfast with chili and no beans so I guess I'm saying try the chili with no beans service is always great. It's a great place to sit and dine and people watch.

My hotel recommended Sam's and I'm really glad they did. The Popeye omelette (with spinach) was great, as were the pancakes. Service was terrific... when you go, ask for "King Johnny!" I'm not surprised this place has been feeding people for 99 Years

Cool spot that seems to be a localish chain? The place is a quaint diner vibe. This location there were two instances where I almost crossed the employee only area trying to find the restroom. The service was good. The food was good, but definitely not earth shattering.

Monster burger (mushroom bacon swiss), double down, morning after (egg on top), with chili cheese fries, & a 20oz kölsch.
    Daniel W.

Consistent late night / after work spot. Sometimes weekend mornings for a hungry classic diner breakfast. Big tasty portions. Cheap. Chill. Breakfast? Burger? Steak? All awesome. Over 20 beers on tap. Or cheap cocktails. Hungry? Tired? Rest here awhile.

By now, average foodies have experienced what Culinary Dropout is all about and yet I humbly and honestly admit the fact that I was a virgin until I for the first time experienced it today on July 16, 2026. In a way, it was like celebrating a super belated birthday of someone I know. This Denver location is rightfully located in this one of the newly developed residential areas that used to be a desert (lol!!) With a blink of an eye, all sorts of businesses popped up within the last 5-10 years or so. First and foremost, what a spacious restaurant this is! Very modern with some casual sense but upscale at the same time. All 5 of us were taken all the way back to the u-shaped booths that is at the "Converse sneaker" decorated wall near the restrooms. Our waiter was John. His impeccable friendliness with expert-level server skills was quite notable. His timeliness in giving us a moment or two so we could decide what to drink/eat, checking back on us to see how everything was tasting etc. was almost AI-driven accuracy. For food and drinks, I am just going to speak just for myself. I got... -Vida Verdita which is a non-alcoholic cocktail that has a good amount of kick in it with pineapple with green appearance and -Roasted Salmon; the portion is a bit small and yet overall it tasted good with perfect medium-ness. Vida Verdita is one of the best NA drinks I've ever had in a while. This minimal consequence beverage is $9 as of mid-July 2026. If you want to steer clear of being drunk but want some energized push to get your night going then I highly recommend this NA drink. Roasted Salmon, on the other hand, was lacking exceptional quality for the price of $31. It wasn't bad as it was prepared in the perfect medium texture but I found it a bit boring so if spending $30+ on a mediocre plate is your pet peeve, then this "run of the mill" dish should be avoided. I feel that they should add more ingredients such as broccolini (yes, something green (not just some cilantro leaves) needs to be added to the plate.) In conclusion...did I walk away being super impressed after dining at Culinary Dropout Denver tonight? No, not really. And yet I wasn't disappointed either. Overall, my experience tonight sits somewhere between 3.5 and 4 star level. It was an occasion for our monthly "girls' get-together" and it's my understanding that we will meet at this place next month again. I will thus explore more on the menu by trying something different.

Strazza [strah-zuh, strazuh, sträzuh]…read more Noun 1. A concatenation of street and plaza "that connects pedestrians and cars in a safe and flexible environment". (Glendale Cherry Creek Chronicle, 9/13) 2. A creative developer's term for a surface parking lot ringed with restaurants and drinking establishments which happen to connect said developer's two hotels. Aren't new, made up words illuminating? I came across the completely made up word "strazza" in the 'Glendale Cherry Creek Chronicle' when reading about all the new restaurants that have been opening up in Glendale's City Set development. The word strazza sounds vaguely upscale. It's a word which may remind you of a stroll through the Piazza del Duomo while you are devouring biscotti, one after the other. Or perhaps it is a sensual word which, when spoken aloud by the likes of Sophia Loren, will unfurl your flag. Strazza. Where was I? Oh yeah, City Set. Yeah, none of the above dreamy notions will disrupt your visit to City Set. City Set is a very clever way of maximizing the real estate around the parking lot between the Hilton Garden Inn and the Residence Inn by Marriott. The line-up of restaurants and drinking establishments which surround the strazza is indeed impressive and a coup for Glendale: Jax Fish House, Cuba Cuba Sandwicheria, World or Beer, Udi's Cafe Pizza and Bar, and Big Smoke Burger are already bringing in the crowds. And still to open are The Kitchen Next Door and a Native Foods Café. That's a lot of variety which covers not only different tastes but different budgets as well. Smart, very smart. All the restaurants and their patios are adjacent to one other and overlook the parking lot so it kind of feels like you are dining on a public square of sorts, a 21st century commercial vision of an insipid street scene. I guess it's like a food court too, except instead of tables in the middle, one can park a car directly in front of their establishment of choice. If you can't find a parking spot directly on the surface lot, then there is underground parking too which I personally find more convenient than competing for a spot on the strazza. There is a shared valet service available too, but I haven't had the need for it. City Set is A-OK and I'm sure they are going to succeed because they seem to have the right tenant mix, the convenience of parking, are surrounded by the right demographics, and are adjacent to the busiest street in all of Colorado. For me, I'd rather have the real thing, as long as there is valet parking of course. Strazza.

Almost everything you need, really. During a recent visit, someone told me that pretty soon this place will be "the next Vegas". Certainly a bit of a stretch, but one day you will be able to stroll with your adult beverage around City Set and over to the Riverwalk that is scheduled to be completed in 2016, I believe. Pretty cool! So why not five stars? Parking. There just aren't enough spaces to accommodate both hotel guests and daily visitors. While complementary valet parking is available (currently the only way to use the parking garage), I'm not going to valet the car just to run in and grab a sandwich or a burger to go. I think even bike racks are limited but perhaps this will be addressed in the future. In any event, City Set is a big boost for Glendale and a fun place to hang out. I'm excited to see what the future holds for this development.
